I feel like I'm really lucky as a player of a lesser used character to have such a comprehensive tutorial as this one. I've referenced it and watched it countless times since it has come out. Thanks a ton LUYG and Aris. I hope you guys do more with as many "special guest character experts" as possible. It really gives aspiring tekken players ton of real match tips and situations to help point them in the right direction. Excellent work.
Aris looks exactly like my father in law. I should get a picture of him with an arcade stick, flipping the camera off and send it to Aris. "Greetings from the future"
suggestions for future episodes: Law - JustFrameJames or yourself Rip Julia - BronsonTran Lili - Kane Paul - ChetChetty King, Armor King, Roger Jr. - K30 Steve - 725 Bryan - Mr. Naps (would be most popular video in my opinion) Thats all i can think of with players from the west coast. If you could some of the East or ATL on the show it could be: Miguel, Bob - NYC Fab Lee - FightingGM Leo - Bloodhawk Bruce - Pokchop Jack-6- Anakin Kuma/Panda - Clint/Brian Nichols
Yeah its very debated how important frame data is, Some players thrive off it whilst others do just fine without it. I personally just use it very basically and look at it when i need to find out whats safe and unsafe and what punishes what without having to spend ages testing it out in training mode. Some actual players devise metagame over it, mental
@assaprince Do you mean the spikes after doing a bound? Its used for okizeme (putting pressure / doing mixup on opponent as they are waking up). Yes it does prevent the opponent from floating away. Also, depending on what your opponent does on wakeup you can catch them while they roll / get up and do some extra damage or you can even get a reset and start another combo. Aris showed some examples on what can be done after a spike (47:17).
I'm glad you guys have tutorial vids for Tekken 6. I missed out on all of Tekken games after 3 and this one when it was popluar due to the SF4 series. SF X TK has got interested in the Tekken games, and after seeing some badass vids. I'd like to out Dragunov, along with Kazuya & Steve.
One thing I'd like to mention about his low grabs, is that they are sometimes useful when the opponent rolls backwards or forwards, you can step right in and grab, he won't expect it.
@Haraken113 @SymbioteRagnoro Start with episode 1 - watch?v=L3DT6-oOZro For most top players to explain in "Xbox/PS3" button notation is just as confusing to us as it is for you to understand the generic Tekken notations we use (simplified from the arcades and generic to all versions). So yeah, if everyone learns the generic notation, everyone on every platform can understand.. for the most part
Please do Law next, I been watching every episode since the first you guys know you stuff!!! But ya Im a Law player n would like to see how well you guys know him. Keep up good work!
@IEOA Wouldn't stopping the attack and letting them float sometime after the bound be better then spiking the opp, though? He would be further away, but you'd also have the time to position yourself and the opp would most likely either back- or quickroll. Wouldn't that be less of a guessing-game for oneself, or does guessing not apply so much to pro gaming, since you know from the animation what the opp is gonna do? Then again... can one always be fast enough to react to opps actions?
Hi guys really love your show, its guys like you that keep the tekken community strong, together and exciting. Rip please do Law next cos I know your a law player, personally I'm a king player but I've been trying to pick law up cos of people like you and JFJ, so please law next. Law for the win. Tekken rocks better yet LUYG rocks
Personally I want Zafina but I don't think any high level ones live in the states. My next choice would be Feng Wei. How about that guy that was on the pod cast? Gessemaster I think?
Noob question: what are spikes good for? I could imagine that you keep the opponent close, cause the more hits you get in the juggle the further he floats away. So you're kinda putting more pressure on the opponent by spiking since you're at an advantage. Could someone confirm or explain that please?
You have the term counter attack mixed up...Counter is when you intercept the attack before they land it....thus effectively countering it....A punisher..as the name suggests...punishes the opponent for launching a big attack
i like how with a straight and serious face and tone. at 9:50 RIp: "does he have any stances?" ARis: strokes beard "no. he [dragunov] is heterosexual. i lol since there is crap load of Leo x dragunov pictures on deviant
lol? so what term do You use to classify the "counter" attacks that occur in this game? You know, the ones where in practice mode you can turn on "Counter hit"and they do more damage?
Frame data, the amount of frames advantage you have free after the move. So positive numbers you will have frames to your advantage, with minus numbers meaning you dont have frame advantage. So like say if my player does a move which is -5 frames and you have a move which is 4 frame startup, you have a frame window to punish. Its very difficult to explain over youtube how you can use this to full advantage etc, you should check out EH, ATP, LUYG site for more details.
Please take this comment into consideration because you's forgot that he has the 1+2,1+2,1+2 off the ground which causes a wiff and the standard df1+2,1+2 which causes the same thing
@IEOA Thanks, but I know that video already and I know what oki is, I just wanted to make sure I don't miss a point in spiking. Thanks for explaining :D
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO YOSHIMITSU!!! Im just starting at Tekken 6 and I know hes a low tier character but hes complicated i need something like this
"No stances. He's heterosexual."
Oh Aris, I love you.
9:50
Another Treasure from the past :D
I love watching old videos of Aris, Rip and the gang
0:23 ARIS lol
Formerly rude.
Aris- The "I don't want to be here" guy
"no he is heterosexual" OMG i died !
Aris sounds like he is court ordered to do this.

Hats off to Aris and the Level Up Your Game crew for making this. These videos are very helpful to the community.
Aris looks exactly like my father in law.
I should get a picture of him with an arcade stick, flipping the camera off and send it to Aris.
"Greetings from the future"

Damn Aris your beard should be the guest on the next episode
Bruh the intro was cringey but i laughed ass off at Aris he just makes a slow ass 360 and gives us the middle finger LMFAO 😂
Aris doing albatross into middle finger is still hilarious
@assaprince

Aris should be the character swap palette of Dragunov in the next Teken lol.
He's so damn good.
My problem exactly! XD I don't have near enough character experience to know what hits where so I'm watching these.

Awesome stuff, one of the best episodes so far!
This is where I first discovered Aris before he became big.
One thing I'd like to mention about his low grabs, is that they are sometimes useful when the opponent rolls backwards or forwards, you can step right in and grab, he won't expect it.
Fucking amazing video, really appreciate the time and effort you guys put in.
I cant wait to see Anna. I mena i know her good, but i always can "Level Up My Game"
P.S: Nice abriviation :D LUMG
They're just going by who they have available. Next are likely MYK for Steve/Bob, Naps for Bryan, Fab for Miguel/Ganryu, Bronson for Julia/Bruce.
i have only one friend that's as avid a tekken player as I am and he's a BEAST with dragunov. That crouch-dash 1 is so deadly..
Did this get remastered to 60fps? I know they didn’t have that option back in 2011
@Haraken113 @SymbioteRagnoro Start with episode 1 - watch?v=L3DT6-oOZro

This is golden!

The dude with the glasses is lucky Aris didn't feel like smacking a punk.
LOL - Aris' 1st finger was waaaayyyy too good.
that's some top shit
Paul. please man Paul, people wanna see Paul give us Paul.
That's why practice mode says 'Punish' in TTT2. Of course,
33:30 That kick also turns into a grapple if it's a counter hit.
It's a pretty good move I find
Aris makes me lol. xD *middle finger*
YES! AT LAST! A DRAGUNOV VID! THANKS GUYS! AWESOME GUIDE! XD!~
Aris dominated this tutorial
Aris looks like one of those dwarves in LOTR
I definitely want to see Bob cause I use him alot as my secondary character and I want to see what would be the best way to use him.
Hi guys really love your show, its guys like you that keep the tekken community strong, together and exciting. YES! A LAST! A DRAGUNOV VID! THANKS GUYS! AWESOME GUIDE! XD!~
They're punishment for getting moves that are unsafe on block, blocked. So there ya go.
'im a vindicator with armor king'. lol.
If you google search "Tekken 6 frame data" you'll find what you are looking for. Here is to hoping that TTT2 has in-game frame data / record function.
@lrrepp and would have liked to hear opinions on the added tackle roll-out
Hey im new to your videos and i just wanted to ask how comes your arn't doing any episodes anymore because they really help plays like me get better
Personally I want Zafina but I don't think any high level ones live in the states. My next choice would be Feng Wei. How about that guy that was on the pod cast? Gessemaster I think?

You have the term counter attack mixed up...Counter is when you intercept the attack before they land it....thus effectively countering it....A punisher..as the name suggests...punishes the opponent for launching a big attack
I going to look this up on TZ, but any tips on how to do the iWS 4 after CH WR 2?
HAGRID CAN PLAY TEKKEN TOO ?!
Yes its in the first episode
what if you do that 1+4 grab and they quick stand to block
For anti drag stuff, aside from CD 1, all launchers are at least -11.
@ZhangHe2369 generally you have to do a crouch cancel (look it up) for these moves.
Aldrin Espinosa is my cousin but we haven't seen each other in more than ten years... sure hope he still remembers me.. lol
I NEED BRYAN!!! PLEASE DO SOME BRYAN!
i like how with a straight and serious face and tone. at 9:50
RIp: "does he have any stances?"
ARis: strokes beard "no. he [dragunov] is heterosexual.
i lol since there is crap load of Leo x dragunov pictures on deviant
How come lagging TV make troubles with iWR?
i agree with jokes. el toda cosa es marvelliosa
So hold on 09:04 ...by going by Aris' theory, that makes Lei the most homosexual fighter ever.
Go Lei wit your fine self!
Teaching how to do iWS or iWR would be good!
I'd really like to see Bryan for the next episode
Wheb are u guys gonna do Armor king?
what does safe on block +7 and all that stuff mean
I want Marshall Law Next.
lol? so what term do You use to classify the "counter" attacks that occur in this game? You know, the ones where in practice mode you can turn on "Counter hit"and they do more damage?
can you pls put some suggestion about heihachi

I know I would hehe...
when ttt2 comes out you better do one on jinpachi...
What's behind Aris' beard please...
Will LUYG start character specific guides again when TTT2 comes out?
@IEOA Thanks, but I know that video already and I know what oki is, I just wanted to make sure I don't miss a point in spiking. Thanks for explaining :D
