I honestly prefer this, do a podcast whenever the hell you want, style because it's always a pleasure listening to the usual crew talk about relevant stuff. I'd rather have entertaining talks every few months instead of weekly podcasts where they talk about the same stuff over and over or covering stuff no one cares about
on one hand, i like to support tekken devs for making such a beaitiful game, on the other hand, i dont want to encourage that kind of monetizations, its so frustrating to see tekken get milked to this stage.
I dont know how much it matters but technically Genmaji Temple isnt the same dimensions as Arena. It's the same width but the Wall Lengths are different. So its a differently shaped Octagon. Not sure how that affects things differently than Arena - maybe side wall interactions etc?
Also you did have to purchase 3 of the Stages in Tekken 7. They were just included in the Season Passes. But if you didn't buy the Season Passes you had to purchase them - Cave of Enlightenment, Island Paradise and Vermillion Gates.
All of the tekken community conveniently forgot this fact. Its so annoying that the people criticizing paid stages don't even know what they're talking about
@666slateran666 well I do think it should've been part of the Pass. But I also think if a competitive game goes all out on Cosmetic MTX then Stages should be free. Even characters I think. That was kind of the tradeoff after games moved on from Map Packs in the 2000s.
@@HolySok this isn't Cod its a fighting game. Most companies charge for stages, it is lame you can't use tekken coins for it but I don't see a issue with them charging something that takes dev time.
@666slateran666 do they? As far as I know a lot of MP games like shooters don't charge for stages. Like Halo Infinite for example. Stages are used as a way to keep people engaged and the money is made with MTX. That was meant to be the proposition. Cosmetic MTX supports a MP game long term while the meaningful content is free. So it feels like Tekken is double dipping. At least to me. But the PR issue is simply not including it in the Ultimate Edition or Year 1 Pass like they did with Tekken 7. A big part of MTX monetization is creating goodwill so people want to spent money on Cosmetic junk to support you or create addicts with FOMO tactics and other manipulative ways. The problem is the latter only really works if a game is a big part of the zeitgeist. A less popular game like Tekken is gonna be hurt more by screwing over its consumers than CoD, Fornite or Rocket League for example. The more goodwill they create and the more user friendly MTX systems they adopt I think they'll have more people wanting to spend their money
@@HolySok Bamco does not give two shits about the goodwill of customers. They see it as a live service game and will charge for content period. They sold stages before for 3 bucks, 5 isn't that crazy Yeats later. Street fighter also sells their stages the difference being you can use drive tickets. I just don't think it's as big of a deal as people wanna make it. They never stated it would be free outside of the beach stage.
The whole Thaiger Uppercut issue really doesn't look good for TWT. It's pretty scummy DQ'ing him in the middle of the tournament for reasons that should have been dealt with earlier on. I agree: either they prevent certain players from participating at all from the very start, or if they're already in the tournament, let them play fairly.
The last 3 added stages in Tekken 7 are paid, so it's not new at all. They are DLC15, DLC17 and DLC19. The difference is that they are part of the Season Passes. Probably that's what made RIP remember it incorrectly, because he had all those Season Passes.
Bamco should refund the $5. I bought the stage thinking if I didn't it would possibly make me miss out on numerous matches where those numerous matches were occurring on that stage... Also bought it for the new jukebox sound included. With that said, if you don't buy the stage is that stages jukebox sounds still available along with all the other songs etc.?
No they shouldn't. 5 dollars isn't crazy for a 3d fighter stage. They were 3 in tekken 7 why is it so crazy that it's 2 dollars more? These things don't grow on trees
I know the last time that you guys did a video & I'll say, I'm pissssssssed... Where have you all been? Just kidding, you all have been missed though... Love this video & can't wait to watch it all the way through.
Hei has the best 10F jab in the game.....his 1, 1 string is 10f/10f where as most characters with a double 1, 1 string has the starting frames up 10f/18f.....its almost like an 8 frame jab from T4/T5 where he can get the jump on an opponent offense counter before they can because the 2nd hit is has faster recovery than the 2nd hit of other characters' 18f jab basically beating them to the "punch"
I dont think the stage is Harada's doing, remember when they showed the Tekken 8 OST vinyl live on stream for the first time and Harada was asking how much it's gonna cost. My guess why we haven't had Mokujin is because they have to make him work with every moveset. He's gonna need a sword and a gun for Viktor, he needs starburst for claudio, azazel hand for zafina etc. It might also be harder to implement him with all the heat mechanic stuff.
I'm going to ask this in the most non condensending way possible: Why does people have an issues with buying a stage for 5$, aside from principle aspect!?
I'm sorry but the 5 dollar stage drama is so overblown. It just proves how entitled the tekken community is. These things cost time and money to develop, of course it won't be free.
A fighting game style individual too I see. Agreed, btw. I understand the confusion, but stages were never going to be free. If there was any mistake it was in the communication.
The drama is not so much coming from the fact that it was not free, it is mostly because it is not included in the pass, which was already underwhelming on its own. I also agree that it is overblown, but the complaints were very deserved.
They fucked up giving Beach Stage for free to everyone and now they are charging even season pass owners. Both stages should be included free only for people who bought Dlc or S1 pass.
It’s not about being free. It’s about it should’ve been included with the season 1 pass. Along with if you bought the deluxe, ultimate, & especially collector’s edition. That’s where ppl are pissed, and imo rightfully so
Maybe this is a hot take, but I paid $5 for the stage and I have no regrets. Great stage, even better song. I feel like it would've made more sense if it was a $5 story/stage pack, but I get that they wanted the story to be like a free trial of the DLC characters.
People would've complained about that too. Until folks get over a very surface level view about monetization there isn't really a conversation to be had.
Meanwhile mortal kombat charges 50 bucks to play their expansion lmao. Tekken community is always whiney and entitled and this situation proved that without a shadow of a doubt.
It definitely should of been included for free the people who paid for the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition of the game. You’re already paying extra for the bonus content, so why pay even more. Also purchasing the in game currency with real money, you should be allowed to purchase the stage with the in game currency.
@@billynahar9861 I do agree they should allow you to buy the stage with the in game currency like street fighter. And they should give em out sometimes too
