I love these i have these reflectors...intimidated by this install because of the wires and having no clue. Hope i get them installes soon they loom great
I was intimidated at first ngl but luckily had someone who was familiar with wiring if you have someone like that as well to help you
Same, thanks for the video though a lot because I was able to do it all except the wiring, my buddy came over and did the wiring part for me and he was done in 20min. But this video helped me a lot to get everything removed and prepped for him.
If you didn't know by now they can light up when you break. I watched another vlog and he wired them to the wires before the vland wires if that makes sense. When I get those bumper lights. I'm gonna hook up a module to make them flash when breaking, its gonna look sick with my thirds lights that also flash when I brake.
were you able to make them flash?
YOU NEED TO PUT DECORATORS TAPE ON THE BODYWORK AT THE REAR OF THE WHEEL ARCH !! If you don't, you run a real risk of scratching your rear quarters with the ends of the bumper. Apart from that, great video, thanks for posting.
Not sure about the US but these are illegal in the UK unless you put some real reflectors somewhere else. The point of reflectors is they reflect peoples headlights so when your car is parked with no lights on at night or your rear lights fail your car is still visible.
That said there are some very nice versions for the later models with slim reflectors.

How are they holding up years later? I’ve seen another video where you can actually wire it to break.
I think most common problem on is250 is the heavy trunk, do the video about the truck shock gas spring, when we push the trunk button, it automatically open just like new car nowadays.
Thought it was a 2is thing or it was just my car with a heavy trunk lol. Thanks for bringing this up! I'll def look into this
Christian Mastrile yeah 2is trunk gas spring die quickly from factory so just give you an idea 👋🏻

How's your bumper diffuser holding up?
Holding up really well. Haven't had any issues since installing it (knock on wood)
I wish you would let someone else film because the video is missing crucial steps. You explain how to remove the bumper without actually showing how to detach it. Same at 3:24 you don't even show what you're unscrewing. When making videos like this its important to show how it gets done + the explanation.
So they only work as sidelights (parking lights) not brake lights? Why is there 3 wires and no just 2? Normally all you need is 1 12volt wire and a negitive wire, but 3 wires implies that there is a 2nd 12volt feed such as a brake light feed?
You can wire it to work as brake light if you want. I personally didn't want to do it that way

Can’t find any install videos that are in depth or show decent wiring. Just purchased these same lights but just smoked. So I’m trying to figure out how to keep the running lights on but then when I brake the brake lights light up more. How do I do that? I want it to light up but use them as brake lights as well
@@carzeen3036 ive bought a set of smoked ones aswell, but havent installed them yet, but im sure that they are sidelights (parking lights) and brake lights all in one from whem you purchase them, just need to wire them up, should be 1 negitive wire and 2 positives, one positive wire is the sidelight and the other is the brake light (brighter light) ill go bench test them now and see what happens

Black=earth(negitive)
White= sidelight(parking light)
Red= brake light
Did u have to buy the blue connecters Seperately? Or did it come with the car lol

I believe they are called quick wire clips or quick splice connectors.

Tapped into the tail lights so every time I turn the headlights on, the reflectors would come on as well

just found an is350 for $5000. Had a is250 but after driving that there is no going back.. am going to sell my is250. No comparison.
havent had the opportunity to drive is350 but heard the power is a huge difference to the is250 lol but for $5k thats a solid find
@@ChristianMastrile it is. i bought the is250 first since it was cheap about 2 months ago... then i found the is350 just a couple of days ago clean title and runs great. so........time to sell my is250 haha. if you test drive the is350, it will ruin you like it did me.. lol

Christian Mastrile thx for the replies g, how many miles did it have when you bought it? Cuz I’m looking at one just like urs 2009 IS 250 80k miles I think the least they’ll take is $10,500.
Forgot to mention it does have the nav system and back up camera
think i bought mine with about 145k or something close to that. 80k miles is hella low especially for these cars and the options are a good touch. Just my two cents but if you could find a is350 youll get much more power lol. If power not a big deal, the one you found sounds like a good find

I really like your mods! Curious, have you heard of a Facebook group called “Lexus IS Freaks”? I ask because if you have joined that group, I noticed the people there talk crap about the IS 250. As an owner of one myself, I find the group to be full of Horrible and despicable human beings who look down on the 250s because they drive a 350 and above. It’s so pathetic honestly , I can tell you’re cool and nice but if you are a member of this group, you will know what I mean. Lexus IS owners should be United instead of the 350 and IS-F people bashing the 250 people. It’s pathetic truly. These people are horrible and waste of flesh. Certainly NO sympathies given if they lose their precious 350’s and F’s lol.
It's funny cos I am in the group and I see it pretty frequently lol. I always laugh when I do see it cos it's not something I take too personally, ya know. Each person has their own taste and if it so happened that someone found a steal on a is250 and couldn't afford or find a is350 or ISF at the time, then that's something that we can't control. I see it as like a older sibling/younger sibling type thing hahaha
