Welcome back to another Rust Base Design for 2019. The SOLO Fortress rust base design is a strong and easy to build base design, designed to be a solos rust base design, but can be used for solo/duo/trios if required. This rust base design contains features such as compact item placements, undrainable shotgun traps, a bunker, a 'starter to main' build style, and loot spreading to increase the raid cost of the base. This Rust base will cost more than 1,700 Explosive Ammo to raid DIRECTLY to the TC and well over 2,100 Explosive Ammo to get all of the loot. This rust base design is extremely strong for its cost and can be used for solos, duos, trios or small groups and can be expanded to include more honeycomb if desired. It also has the option to expand to add a 2nd floor above for extra storage, or a shooting floor.
Rust base designs need to ensure that they are strong and with this rust base building tutorial i will show you some great rust tips and tricks as well as some rust advance building tricks.
This rust base design is a “starter to main” build meaning it’s built in stages and is expandable - you can live out of the starter and expand the base in stages as and when you have the resources to do so.

This is by far my favorite solo only base design that I consistently use every wipe. I think it has fantastic upkeep to protection ratio compared to your other builds, and other youtubers builds.
Note for people playing modded (which is like majority of the community) I recommend making most parts of the stone into sheet metal, and most parts of the sheet metal into armored. Especially for 2x or 3x servers

@@xRaWYT it has alot of storage and again, the upkeep to protection ratio is insane. The worst thing in the world is not having any metal frags or stone to spare to craft stuff because you're using it all for upkeep, not anymore with this base design!! I also love that door raiding is just as frustrating as raiding from the side or top due to the spread out loot rooms, and half walls on top protecting from splash.
I did a couple of personal modifications. Where you put the tier 2 and drop boxes, I put a bed and tier 3. The triangle next to that (where you put a furnace and small box) I put my tier 2.
Also all of the salvaged shelf loot rooms can be turned into an evil wurst 7 box loot room, however the triangle holding the 3 large boxes on top can only hold 2 large boxes so you can pass by the loot room. Still not bad compared to 5 large boxes and a BBQ.
@@gansta432 You can also add a shotgun trap to the bunker entrance by lowering the triangle foundation, add a half wall and putting a floor, the triangle foundation in question would be the one he isn't standing on at 8:50. imgur.com/a/UMokwy2 - here is an image, its hard to see the shotgun traps but they are there.
Edit: spelling and I forgot to mention you can do this with the other triangle foundation as well although they can be baited.

I’d move a loot room and add large batteries early on with solar panels on the roof. By the time you’re ready to honeycomb they’d be fully charged. Then add auto turrets around the outside

A good way to start and learn the basics is to join a solo server. Search for Solonation. It's a new and low populated server. Perfect for learning. 👍

Built this base. Got raided five minutes after I put the first door down. Didnt lose TC though. Kept most of my mats for the honeycomb im gonna have to do after the sar guy leaves XD

You should upgrade the second wall frame with the shopfront to metal as it is easier to go through that than the 2 sheet doors and a garage door
Think the stone frame is stil more costly than the metal shopfront - you may be right tho!

Nice base, but for editing's sake, and as someone that's newer to Rust, it'd be more helpful if you slowed down some of the building. Specifically in stages 3 and 4 when you're upgrading to metal and honeycombing, it's hard to tell what you're doing!

LittIefinger hey bro! Yeah I only speed up non essential parts! Specifically upgrading (because you just need to upgrade the internal shell) and then honeycombing (because it’s just adding s layer of stone) although perhaps I should have explained the processes better!
I specifically choose x2 and x4 speed as on TH-cam you have the option to playback the video at x0.25 and x0.5 speed which means the video will play st normal speed! Again I should have explained that too so I app ologies!

the roof is honeycombed, each individual lootroom is - so you wouldnt be able to splash multiple roofs, you could get into one lootroom at a time with around 12 rockets, perhaps a little splash to lower the honeycomb cost, but still cant SPLASH the entire thing

@@xRaWYT you should do 2x the speed so if it's too fast we can put .5x the speed and it would look normal

Hi bro, i add the "deployables" part in to show how the base would progress froma starter into a main base. Unfortunatly it's just how the videos work. I did consider removing the item placements entirely and only building shells for the base designs but im unsure if it would work very well!
I don't know if this is being picky or not but I friggen HATE that you fly through the build process at light speed, mainly just showing 1 angle example.... I understand I can slow the video down but I'm all the time having to stop the video, lower speed and then go back 10-12 seconds because of the fast, alternative build example you bounce back and forth from.... I absolutely love the channel and get alot of ideas from the channel but its a friggen pain in the ass to try and work along making a exact replica. This might be a controversial source to be giving and example from but Princevids build videos are almost 100% perfect when showing the build process. He keeps everything at the same speed, gives a POV viewpoint, birds eye viewpoint and opposite POV with each and every part of the build process... When it comes to comparing his build vids to yours, you take the cake in all aspects EXCEPT the build process beginning to end. I also love how you give cost of everything and storage numbers. I think if you maybe tried a few different things when doing the buid process then it would greatly benefit your channel.... It's MUCH easier to speed up the video if something thinks it's too slow but a pain in the ass to slow it down, " last sentence is from the viewpoint of people watching the video". I'm sure this comes off picky but I'm just sharing friendly criticism ^_^

I real my struggle with the speed at which to build. When I build to slow all my experienced viewers are unhappy and if I build to quick than others are u happy.
I try to build the important parts of the base (the foundations, walls,doors, roof) etc at normal speed and I only speed up parts which are either easy (upgrading to metal / honeycomb) or the placement of items as these can be changed from base to base anyways 👀 I’ll see what I can chan he for futur

That raid cost is unreal lmao, you should do it by rockets instead of explosive ammo first off, that's 12-16 rockets to tc at the very cheapest, which would be around 941 explosive ammo at the VERY LEAST! (Which includes one stone wall, one armoured wall, one garage door, and one glass window (Although you can up the raid cost a lot by armouring 4 walls)) You need to tell people the very cheapest amount of explosives and the most expensive amount of explosives they need to raid your base, don't just tell them it's "+/-2532 explosive ammo" to raid it.
This video was uploaded in 2019 when explosive ammo was the main way to raid. If you check my recent videos i also show the raid cost direct to tc via rockets.
Although, Just so you know, the explosive ammo cost i show in this video and all videos is direct via doors, and total cost via doors.

Thank you bro! Yes unfortunately the only way to move the TC is to break it. You can use hatchets, shotgun it down or flame thrower it as well :)
Is it just one stone + one sheet metal roof to TC? ~600 explosive ammo through roof?
No. That gets you one lootroom and there are 4 and the TC, so doing that would be ~600x5 ~3,000. Would just be more expensive to do that.
The amount of roof peices there are a raider just wouldn’t get Tc first go and even if they did they’d still have to raid the rest of the base for loot
@@xRaWYT If someone gets TC and griefs you then you not only lose loot, but the entire base.
The TC is in the center triangle, if someone was raiding through the roof it isn't unlikely that they choose the center.
Also, if they enter that triangle with the TC, a window shows them two lootrooms sticking out of garage doors that can be splashed together.
You can't base your raid cost off of luck, in the video you state the cost to raid "directly' to TC is ~1600, but someone could take over your base for less than half of that. The cost to raid has to be the same from all sides.
Now I'm not trying to be mean or hurtful in anyway, I just noticed that the possible. raid cost is simply much lower than you stated. Someone blasting through your doors is much more likely than a specific triangle on your roof, but it could happen.

Eclectic I always do it via doors because a majority of people raid via doors. Of course every base is cheaper going direct via walls but the chances of people raiding direct through walls is so low - particularly if people take my advice and switch up the base a bit - could even be as simple as upgrading the walls/roof a little more. I appreciate what you mean but it’s hard to do a raid cost as everyone uses different methods and such - I just chose the 2 most used items ( explosive ammo and raiding via doors) :)

Couldn't you just upgrade the upper central honeycomb triangle you have above the TC to sheet metal and even add another stone honeycomb on top of that again. Or just upgrade the triangle TC room to HQM

I only DIDN'T do it because it gives away the TC Location where otherwise raiders would aim directly for the square lootrooms.

You can build without garage doors early on but it’s a little hard to get around xD

Yeah - simply leave out a triangle roof near the exit and add a furnace to create a jump up :)

you can just place it anywhere and pick up with a hammer when you're done, it would take up alot of space in compact bases like this
It’s best not to place the research table unless u have spare space.

The BBQ can store as many items as a small box, and takes up no extra space to place above a small box.
That means that each small box/BBQ combo is 80% of the storage of a large box

Dude, the BBQ's are obviously for all the human meat you'll be getting from unsuccessful raiders giving up.....
On a serious note.... It's a great method of storage. It's like being able to stack 2 small boxes together.
I'm new-ish to rust. I dont see why someone wouldnt just blow out the ass end of the base instead of going through the doors?
Because they wouldn't know the bunker is there, even if they did go via walls then it would be similar cost - that's the idea of a bunker - whiecher way they go they have to blow wall :D

@@xRaWYT just tested it, you can get through the bunker with explosive ammo.
I've only managed to do it when the wall above is armored though
Edit: manged to to it with all walls, anything other than armored is harder but still doable
@@robloxfanboy86 YEah this bunker isnt the most secure - best to upgrade to wood (stone if u have a jackhammer) when u log off for extra security :)

Anyone that has some good game knowledge knows that the raider can just soft side the foundation to open the bunker , i have a design that covers the foundations so the raider HAS to blow an armored wall no matter what

PinkPlayz it takes 1 hour 30 to soft side with jackhammers and 440 jackhammers. That’s 30 minutes or more, probs like 40-50 ( as they’d have to repaid the jackhammers in between ) per person and over150 jackhammers

The video is not meant to be followed as i build. The build style is starter-to-main meaning you learn how to do each section 1 by 1 and they are easy to follow - u can run in and out of a safe place to stop you getting killed. You CAN however slow the video down using youtube settings if you require.
