I do my oral board interview in 4 hours! I've been watching your videos for the last couple months over and over. I appreciate the insight. Keep it up. I'll keep you updated. Thank you sir.
I succeeded in the oral board!!! They've emailed me the procedure to provide all the information needed for the background investigation. After that, it's the psychological testing then polygraph. I have nothing to hide or lie about but it's such a nerve racking experience
Great video Greg. This video came out the day of my oral board interview. I did not see it till today. I wish I would have asked him about the community policing. That would have been great. I have watched several of your other videos as well. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the videos that you have been posting. They have been very helpful. I will be applying next week to an police department in my area. I have an military background and ever since getting out I have missed that sense of belonging, responsibility, and camaraderie. I don’t feel that with my current job. I have reached out to local departments to find out if they offer what I’m looking for and i believe I found the right one. Everything feels right. Keep up the good work! I would love to add your challenge coin to my collection.
Thank you for the great knowledge. I’ll be applying in January so I been studying as much as I can. I work in the department of behavioral health and work with the diverse population on the daily so I really understand that mental health is very important to understand know days.
I appreciate the kind words, I'm just giving some food for thought. You are boosting your own confidence by using resources to prepare yourself. Good for you. Good luck.
Hi just wanted to say I’ve been watching you for the last month now in preparation for my interview. It was a tremendous help going in with some idea of what to expect. I don’t know if I passed or not but this definitely made the three hours feel much smoother. Thank you for putting in the time to make these, it is greatly appreciated.
@@a1kvisuals Sorry, I didn’t see your reply! Yes, it was 3 hours long. It was for the Ontario Provincial Police in Canada and was a combination Local Focus and Essential Competency interview. Also, I did end up passing the interview and am currently awaiting my final home interview before my application goes for a final review.
nice congrats hope everything works out my interview was about 45 minutes long I'm still waiting on a response from the police department how did you know if you passed the interview ?@@ferencvarga6535
@@stickmanjd I passed! And going through the background process now. They asked me questions like.. why do you want to work for this city and department? What have you done to prepare for a career in law enforcement? They asked the you catch your partner stealing question of course lol. They also asked a scenario based question. How would you handle a person who became irate and unruly after you had given them a citation?
I faced several boards before deciding on a department. I passed them all. One guy asked me how I managed to get three "Good Conduct" medals." I answered that I always followed the rules. One Assistant Chief asked me what would it take for me to quit the force. I answered: If I lost respect for the department. I got a full time hire into a paid academy. Instead I picked a non-affiliate academy with no promise of a job. Why? Because I respected the people and that department so much. I often wondered if I made a mistake (later on). I talked a friend of mine out of a full time hire at the CHP academy. This person made Sergeant really quickly and did well.
Failed my psych interview. I don’t understand how because my mmpi came back clean as well as my background. I really wish they told me what stood out to them so I could’ve better approached it
I’ve tried to click on your Patreon link a few times and it doesn’t take me anywhere. I’m wondering if I can reach out to your email with some questions about my experiences in the hiring process and possibly schedule a zoom.
No questions should be asked at the end, that's for your background investigator to answer. Statements are ok but they should be short. This is my opinion after participating in hundreds of interviews. These interviews are time sensitive. Doing a ride along can answer a lot of these questions. Be careful about asking questions ie questioning the agency in which you are trying to get hired. Just my opinion.
Got a question about credit history report. Just recently came across where one of the required documents to be turned in with an application to a police department was a credit history report. Is this normal for law enforcement agencies to ask for? Also can credit make or break the decision for the applicant?
Pretty standard practice across the country. I had to submit my credit score, and fill out credit stuff on my state application. In the 2010s bad credit was a no go, but nowadays the standards are a bit more….relaxed when it comes to stuff like that. People aren’t exactly lining up to be cops anymore.
You have to look into the department you want to join. Every state; county or city have their own pre requisites. Some departments require a minimum of 60 college credits (associates degree) some only high school. Some require a swim test and an agility test prior to the application; if you only have high school education and no military background you have to take the CJBat test prior to applying. I recommend reaching out to the recruiting team of the department you are looking for so they can give you more info. Good luck.

Hello! Senya has a question, where can I find tests for exams on Google? So that you can prepare for the police academy exams. I can't find anywhere
