    This video hits home, it challenged me to sit back and really think about myself.
    I made a list of strengths and weaknesses and assessed myself from highest to lowest.
    I've come to the conclusion my critical thinking skills are my greatest strength.
    My weakness, I find that I'll personalize situations others are going through.
    I put myself in other people shoes and share their emotions.
    I don't shake off negativity very well either, I take it to heart and carry it with me.
    The next challenge will be articulating this in the form of answer, I'm working on this now by having different people I know ask me both questions.
    Thanks buddy! This video helps tremendously.

      So think about this, your greatest weakness is you tend to personalize situations others are going through, knowing this, you use it to empathize with people you deal with and this ensures you are able to see things from their perspective. I also know that certain negative issues tend to stick with me so I help manage this with a physical fitness program, a strong family connection and extra curricular activities with friends. Just an idea for you if it fits.

      That's a good perspective. I can use this as a strength thinking about it that way.
      Thank you for the videos, I took quite a few talking points you provided in my oral board board, it went great and they passed me.

    Going back to college this year for criminal justice I wanted to be a cop since I was 3 years old I'm currently a firefighter and I love it. I like helping people in my community on the fire side of things but law enforcement always was a career interest. Any suggestions for people that are shy or have problems socializing with people wanting to get into law enforcement or corrections? Do you have any tips on how to be more assertive while dealing with people as an officer?

    • @InPursuit360
      @InPursuit360  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Great question, that is video worthy. I was like that, shy and an introvert in school. There was something about putting on that uniform knowing I was dealing with people in order to help them that allowed me to do what I had to. I’ll do a video soon, awesome topic, there are many that have started that way. Follow your passion and be safe

      Unless the agency you want to work at requires a criminal justice degree get something different. Most place will like a physiological degree or something better.

      @@Samthewolf1010 lies every Police Academy police organization in the state of Texas just requires you to have a Associates but a bachelor's degree in criminal justice you can get money in criminal justice classes also we have to take two classes for psychology three classes for trauma and all kind of stuff is not just about a police and stuff like that so no you can do a lot with a Commander's degree in law enforcement. Aunt I see you can't do anything with a psychology degree in law enforcement unless you have a Ph.D so I don't know what you talking about I don't even know what state you live in

      @@lacecocoa6272 not lies where I live. You have a criminal degree is just kind of a joke cause so does almost everyone else and no agency here requires anything beside a high school diploma.

    Hello, thank you for your videos! I am in Massachusetts I just submitted two application packages for 2 municipal departments through the civil service system. It’s been two months already and I didn’t hear anything from them. When would be a good time to do a following up and how? Thank you keep up the good work

    What degree would you suggest someone get before going into Law Enforcement? I understand most departments around the country don’t require degrees but I want to broaden my education and really stand out when applying at different departments.

I received an email that my application was sent to the police department from the hr director. U need I would have to do everything again?

    • @InPursuit360

      Most departments are going to make you go through all of it again. They want to make sure you are dedicated and consistent. There also may be new competition to compare you against. Don’t give up, keep applying and consider applying to multiple departments to increase your chances.

    I never got any feedback on what went wrong

    • @InPursuit360
      @InPursuit360  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you fail the interview? Or were you passed over? There is a difference. Remember that there are a lot of people applying for these law enforcement careers, especially if this is a bigger or more prestigious agency. First, don't give up, look at other smaller departments, find an active officer to befriend and have conversations about what that agency is looking for, and last keep watching my videos of course. Good luck and keep trying.
