Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers (V2.2) - Grand Prix 4th Place Ending

So, I had an inkling there was an ending for achieving 4th place overall, so I knew I had to record it for posterity.
(This was a new upload due to my previous upload of the same subject containing a little too many spoiler characters. There's still some that are present but that's out of my hands due to how the game handles bots (it picks from the racers you've unlocked. Rivals bypass the unlock check from what I know.))

It's surprisingly difficult to get 4th place! Trying to get 4th on purpose often leads you to getting 3rd instead

I feel like it would have been better if the game played the victory music for the CPU's that won, and when the camera panned out to show the player, the music would then abruptly change to the Loser Club. That's what happened in Mario Kart 64 if you got 4th place or lower.

As I thought, 4th does have a -75 point penality to the rank.

Obviously to make sure you don't get a C Rank despite the poor placement bottom third place.

@@Trimint123 Actually, it might be possible to still get a C rank. If you got all Egg Prisons, all Rings and didn't use a Continue, that's 200 points out of the gate. And to get a C rank, you just need 250 points.
From this, I can say that they could had gotten 4 more points Ring wise had they gotten 20 rings to the end of Northern District, and if they had gotten one more Lap Point in Northern District and two more in Sonic Speedway, that would had brought the total Lap Points up to 25/30, which would added an extra 10 points... Which would bring their total score up to 244, which is not enough for a C.
The only way to further boost the score is by scoring more points during the GP, but that comes with the risk of getting 3rd. Perhaps 24 points would be enough with the additional bits I mentioned to get a C, but only just.

@@ah2190 Theoretically, it's possible to place 3rd twice and then place 4th for the remaining three races for a total of 24 points. Unfortunately, even with that, if my calculations are correct, you'd still end up with 245.
Of course, if we want to create the Perfect Failure, it is possible to get 37 and still suck with 3rd, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st which would give about 61 points.
So, if we do everything perfectly and assume the bots actually behave and place differently each round (which is VERY hard thanks to the Rival bots getting more cheats than the others), we'd get:
* 37 GP Points (+61)
* 100 Rings (+50)
* 0 Continues (+50)
* 26 Lap Bonus (+86)
* 13 Prison Eggs (+100)
Which would total to around 347 before 4th place eats 75 which will equal to about: 272 points, enough to get a C Rank and have Tails exclaim that he won when he clearly didn't since C Rank is the cut-off point for the characters using their win sound based on rank.
Is this possible? That would depend on how the game handles seeing two bots in 1st place, a bot in 2nd, and a player in "3rd", would the player be shoved into 3rd by technicality? If that's the case, getting 3rd, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd would give 34 (and 25 lap bonus) which would give us 267, still enough for C.
Even still, a LOT of this would come down to sheer luck in an unmodified game since if a bot gains a massive speed boost on the final turn during Laps 1 or 2 (Sonic Speedway is AWFUL for this alone) or a bot in 5th or lower gets a power item OR you get bonked over the finish line before you can claim your rightful place, it's all over. Now splitscreen on the other hand? More possible with less chances of losing your sanity BUT you now have to co-ordinate and one potential slip-up would mean having to start the run over again.
