Dude, hang tough. One thing that sets you apart from most other channels is that you’re real. Your feet are on the ground, and you are clearly human. I am wishing you a quick recovery. I am glad that you have discovered a new path that will lead to actual health care (proactive), and relying less on sick care (doing things only when there is an acute need). Your real life video still has a strong resonance with me. Be well.
Mate, videos like this lift your channel from a simple hobby one to life coaching And you’re onto something, I’m a mental health nurse. We’re always trying to get people with low mood to be more active. It really helps I loved the unedited nature of it too Felt like I was watching a friend chatting away
Even in a fever dream you are more inspiring that the average human. Get well old Master, the World may not need your insights, but your fans does enjoy the Hell out of it. Like a sick Lama Dalai once said, "Don't forget to drink your Nama-Nestlé." *gong noise*
I was coming out of a round of Covid about a year ago. On day six of being wiped out I tried to stand up and immediately tipped over onto the mattress. I ended up with a bout of vertigo that all but made me crawl for around five days. It was absolutely miserable. Welcome to the dark side of aging, my friend.
Hell to get old. Chicken soup does wonders for body and soul, along with sleep! Glad your feeling somewhat better. And, yes, when my blood sugar is under control I have more energy drive and enjoyment of what I do.
Happy New Year, Ignatius. A few years ago I was diagnosed diabetic. I started exercising, made some diet changes... and it was soooooo hard. Some days it still sucks to keep up that motivation, but it has helped. I got more creative again, which ultimately led me to discover this channel, among many other changes. Thanks for bringing it up. Hope you feel better.
Thank you! Yep building new healthy habits has gotta be one of the hardest things. Best of luck managing that diabetes, seriously. My nephew has it at the age of 10 and I just don’t know how I’d deal with it. Head up, game on!⚔️🏴☠️⚔️
persistent health concerns do in fact mess with ones mental health. Glad to see you're weathering your health problems well, and are taking it as an invitation to both accept help and also see it as an opportunity to try some new ways of doing things.
Is this one big fever dream?😀 I like the idea of creating your health goals with the idea of how it will improve the things you love to do in life. Take care of yourself and Happy New Year
Oh man well I wish us both luck in the final run lol! And also I got my full PDF from the Torch And Shield Kickstarter, so freakin cool! Really looking forward to the physical book! ⚔️🏴☠️🍻
You just described the issue I have with the cycles of my chronic illness sapping all my motivation for projects, and all the starts and stops really mess with mental health as well. Your story about the rowing machine reminds me that when I had a vertigo episode years ago, biking home from work (because it was impossible to work with it) was fine, while sitting or laying still was when I felt the vertigo the worst. I have mild vertigo occasionally, but thankfully nothing like that time
Gotta be tough, jeez. I wish you best of luck carrying the fight! And yeah I can row or drive lol but standing/walking is when I feel it the most. 🏴☠️
I feel your pain, friend. SWMBO and I flew to North Carolina to spend the Christmas Holidays with family and to spoil the grandkids and instead were struck down by some sort of flu/ respiratory/ death virus. We were down for 10 days. Been there, done that, hated it. Glad that you are feeling better!
When I was sick between Christmas and new year, I made the mistake of looking at my minis. I hated everyone of them and was convinced all the compliments I got were people just humoring me. Now that I'm better the minis look fine. Crazy, but lessen learned: no hobby gazing while fluey.
It’s quite extraordinairy how «proper food», or «not too much junk and a slightly larger dose of good food» together with physical exercise and daylight can generate energy and positive thoughts - but if one does not try it one never finds out :)
Sometimes you think best when you have something going on. When I am sick I find myself thinking only because it does not make my head hurt. Otherwise I just sleep. Over 5 years ago I had a stroke. Thank my lucky stars that it was not a severe one. After a long recovery I was able to speak normally again. All of my docs told me the same thing. Take your meds eat right and exercise. I eat better now I get on my stationary bike and get in a few hours of aerobic/cardio a week. Not to mention some walking and most importantly my hobbies. It is amazing what getting into something healthier gives a guy like me in his late 50's. The creative juices flow and even if I lost some of my brain. I can still do my job and more. I would be lost if I could not do my audio work anymore.
@@tabletopalchemy I may not be able to do the speed speech I used to do. Now it's different and I found a few advantages to what I have now. Sometimes a curse becomes a blessing.
Another great video, bringing up topics not discussed often enough. I think creative approaches to preventative healthcare might help a lot of us artistic types: 1. Maybe starting a dream journal to help cultivate lucid dreaming capabilities will help motivate us to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. 2. Perhaps martial arts training (shadowboxing, sparring, weapon training) will be a fun way to get some cardio in everyday. 3. There is a possibility of using our creative impulses to fuel ideas for interesting, healthy recipes (maybe those bean, cheese, and salsa burritos can be boosted with some grilled vegetables (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms) and some lean protein sources (chicken breast, fish, or maybe even cricket protein, etc.). Wishing you all the best this year! Good luck with the recovery and please continue being awesome!
Because you’re sick (I mean physically), I listened to this entire video, but you were going to get a scathing comment if you did not give us the name of that bone broth. Fortunately, you saved yourself by not only giving us the name, but for us visual buyers, showing us the box. Good job, Sunshine! Hope you feel better. And happy 2024. Best wishes.
I think the word your after at 13:40 (ish) is mitigate. Glad your on the mend, and yeah the link between mental and physical health is really under appreciated.
Get well dude. I have found that walking seems to help me get ideas for gaming projects, and it builds up my motivation. I think there are two factors at work here. The first is that it is kind of slow exercise. I am just walking, and I think it gives me time to think about what I could be painting or the games I could be playing if I weren't walking. The other factor is the stimulation from the activity of walking. My heart is pumping blood to my brain and I can sort of look at my surroundings. This is where we can find inspiration in simple things
For no reason, here's one of my favourite spray cheese facts: In Quebec at least in the past they had a version called... Fromajet. ;'-) So much better marketing.
Glad you got a handle on it man. Life knocks us down every now and then and saps our will to do fun stuff. Cheers for getting back up and getting into some good habits to keep that vertigo manageable. Now that you're rowing, is it too soon to insert a "stroke! stroke! stroke!" joke here? :)
Next time, make sure to use your inspiration on that con save! Now having said you are going to exersize, you should get a fit (preferably swole) friend to record the intro for your next video, and have him lip-sync your voice, and finish the intro with "What? Thank you for this. I've had some concerns recently, and this helped me feel a bit better. I have come from the other side and getting the mental effort to do even things I want to, has been a constant struggle. This is in line with what I was planning, but it's nice to know I improve doing things I want and need to do.

Most doctors are just going to tell you to exercise and eat better. Seems pretty easy to skip the co-pay and just do that, or, if not easy, cheaper. Had the Xmas crud also, PITA, everyone got internet gift cards this year.
Appreciate this video as it hits close to home. I suffered a serious bout of Vertigo in November, first time ever in my life. I'm 57 years old. I too looked up remedies online and tried the head movement exercises thinking I had a bit of calcium in a canal. That was not the case. I believe I had an inner ear virus as well. It took about 6 weeks but mine has finally abated. I am curious; however, what where the exercises the doctor suggested you try? By the way, been a lurker since you opened the channel. Very much enjoy your content. Thank you for what you do here.
Thank you, glad you enjoy the content! So yes the exercises my doc gave me are different from the Epley maneuvers (the Crystal relocation thing). They are very simple but can strengthen the symptoms momentarily but they are working really well for me so far. The first one is to put a cross mark in something like a chopstick, hold it out in front of you and turn your head from side to side while keeping eyes locked on the cross mark. Up to 1 minute at a time, 20 min per day. The goal is to increase your head swivel speed as fast as you can while maintaining eye lock on the mark. The 2nd exercise is just simply walking while looking 90 degrees one way for three steps then 90 degrees the other way for three steps, swiveling back and forth every 3 steps. So this for 2 minutes a few times per day. Then repeat but look up and down vs side to side every three steps.
@@tabletopalchemy Okay. I do walk regularly and did walk while suffering the vertigo. I can see how those exercises would help. I would try and focus on a spot in the distance and that seemed to have some benefit. I'm just happy it's gone. Hope your ends soon.

Age definitely plays a part in many of these things that suddenly start to show up, soon hitting 50 myself, no major illnesses or chronic stuff along the way, then suddenly my eyes stopped focusing on things held close when wearing glasses, have to put them on my head to look at things *reeeeeeally* close instead, upper arms suddenly stiff and creaking and aching in the morning, sliiiiightly worse balance than before (but still able to skateboard) - but all of that showing up within a year. Getting some more movement exercises targeting those arms going helped a bit with the aching so probably gonna have to do some more of that - never to late to improve on things :)
@@AndreSjoberg get some elastic bands and try some "tension" exercises. I have been having troubles with my neck and left arm muscles, since the past year. and that thing really helped.
