question man, by chance do you know the adjustment on the screw located behind the carb, center base of the carb? not even sure if its air or fuel but i need a base adjustment for that.
Hi Alex! Thanks for posting this video. Could you do me a huge favor and take a picture of the VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION sticker under the hood to show a CLEAR picture of the entire sticker that shows its for a 4-AF engine, and also shows all the information, especially the Ignition timing? Thanks chief!
Y o uavr a weird issue with my corolla with a 4af could u help me by chance?? No idea whats causing this, it starts andruns great for about 20mins then it will stall completley and it will have no spark to any spark plugs u till it cools down again. The second it reaches operation temp it dies and wont restart untill u wait about an hour?? Help please please
Im going to check the timing and spark plugs on my 4af ae92 tomorrow. In my owners manual it says for me to set the timing to 10 degrees btdc and my spark plug gap to 0.8mm. What fuel octane do you use? I just started using 95 which is the recommended fuel in my country for my ae92, before I was using 91 and the car started to ping a little so I changed to 95 and it's fine now. Im checking my timing and plugs just incase those weren't 1 of the causes to the car pinging. Im from New Zealand btw so I think specs are a little different here.
For the base timing mode they recommend you block of the vacuum lines to the distributor. Then, (on my car it says to put it to 5 degrees BTDC), once it's set plug all vacuum line back in and the car will do the rest. When I plugged my vacuum lines back in, I was getting about 13 degrees BTDC
Awesome video, super helpful. My 'Rolla doesn't have the sticker with the schematic for vacuum hoses, could you post a picture of yours?
Alex can you make a video of how to install a blinking LED that lights up when the key disconnects from the ignition? Thanks!
