When my great grandmother passed and was buried next to her husbands that she outlived, the vaultman like you are also had a headstone cleaning service. Not only was the headstone beautifully cleaned it was so honorable to all her sons to see everything cleaned up and looking its best. It made her sons feel relieved. So again, thank you for being a gaurdian, a gaurdian of those who have left us and their resting places.
Thank you love your videos ....my Dad died when I was 8 ..of cancer. He was in Pearl Harbor only 41 .. I have 2 brothers and a sister ahead of me. . I'm 72 now ....Mom passed in 2009 . She was 94 . Raised 4 kids by herself ... I think my Dad had no problem with that... she was a very stubborn Dutch women . I thank my Dad for being in the Army ... we lived in Denver and was glad my Mom had a military benefits to help us through. Mom was 45 when Dad passed very gutsy.... person . Thank God for that Shalom ❤❤❤❤

A minor point if I may: When edging, you should take care not to skin the turf. If the turf is higher than the concrete or stone, cut out the turf layer with a knife, lift up some two to three inches thick turf tiles, remove some soil from underneath and re-plant the turf tiles. That makes it look much neater and stops it from just overgrowning the stone again pretty much the next day.

My parents are buried in Phoenix Arizona and their upright headstone has been up since 1997. There are photos of each one of them and as the years go by their photos become unrecognizable no matter what I’ve tried to clean them with. My brothers and I even hired a headstone cleaner to clean it up to not much difference. The cemetery says it’s because the water has many chemicals and is “hard” water and there’s nothing they can do. If possible, please advise me if D2 biological solution would help clean up their photos. A heartfelt thank you ❤️✨🙏
So i don't clean headstones, but i used to specialize in hard surface cleaning... as long as you're using a doo-hicky to scrub the thing-a-ma-jig, you'll always have good results on your whatcha-ma-call-it. Those are the proper terms.

Nice video, I like visiting cemeteries when I have the time to. I never like seeing tomb stones that are covered with moss, black algae, or anything that is making them dirty, especially any headstones that mark the graves of veterans. My great grandfather who was a World War I veteran passed away in 1940 from bleeding ulcers when my grandfather was 7 years old and his tomb stone is already getting moss on it. It's not bad, but I think it should be cleaned soon.

Thank you for posting these videos. I have cleaned a couple of gravestones with Dawn dish soap, a soft brush and lots of water. I am going to invest in D2 after seeing your videos. What do you use for the setting compound?

Hi, I was just curious if you ever use a power washer when you clean these headstones? Sorry if you’ve already might have addressed a similar question. I am new to your channel today.
You can really damage stones with hard blast of water especially older limestone.

My exact question. My f-i-l passed away last month and my wife/ b-i-l went out there on a hot afternoon a few weeks ago to clean the rest of the headstones in the family plot. They weren’t aware of the water taps at a regular interval so they brought their own water. I have a really low powered pressure washer that might’ve made it easier. I know they bought chemicals to do the job. None of the stones are older than 70 years old.

No not good. The D2 is the only recognized solvent to use.
Why did you add pennies under the stone when you reset it?
Penny: This symbolizes visitation. It is for those who have no formal relationship with the deceased but wish to honor their service and their family. Nickel: A nickel is left by those who trained at boot camp with the departed. Dime: In the case of a dime, it indicates service alongside the departed in some capacity.

Coin meanings on tomb stones
A penny symbolizes that you visited
A nickel symbolizes that you trained with them at boot camp
A dime symbolizes that you served with that service member
A quarter symbolizes that you were physically present with that service member when they died
It also creates a space, so there is some thickness as it gets compressed between the stones. If there was no spacer, then the stones would squeeze so flat that virtually all the setting compound would squeeze out. Between polished surfaces, there needs to be a little bit of space so that "grabbing" can occur.
