  • Should women be drafted into the military in 2017? The rise of feminism and calls for equality make that question very relevant today. We explore that question and the question of whether having women in combat roles is a good idea.

      Coquí Mapping what, send I mother’s into combat? Yea sending anyone into combat helps with overpopulation on some level but unless people are dying in the millions (preferably billions) the population change will go unnoticed. My point was mother’s and fathers are of equal importance so to use parenthood as an excuse is stupid considering the amount of fathers we have lost in war

    • @FireDramine7
      @FireDramine7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @Sarah lol you're telling me Im assuming when you're missing the point by a thousand miles. Read carefully:
      HE. WAS. CLAIMING. IT. HAPPEND. IN. HIS. CORPS. SCHOOL.
      now listen closely: NOT. IN. THE. ENTIRE. MILITARY.
      I know there are two different people talking but the first guy definitely meant that he only had one girl in his entire corp school which could do it ok. The second guy is also not referring to the entire military but the the subject at hand which is the corps school of the first guy.
      What I dont get is why you first said "exactly" and then went on a rant on how it couldn't have only been one woman in the entire military, which again, he and the second guy weren't claiming. Just in his corps school.
      I get what you are saying and I completely agree with you. You are saying that women like this are not one in a million which is true, it is certainly less than for men but not that extremely rare like one could think. Still it's less than men. You don't see special forces who have women. Just simply because it already requires the max out of a male body so it's close to impossible for a woman to be able to do that. And if you have a woman like that you also have to have a woman who wants to join the military and special forces. Two very slim chances. Yes there were like 2 chicks who passed ranger school but those two were proven to have gotten infinite retries, preschools and help. I am not bashing on women. It's just that a regular man can carry a regular man for let's say 100m but a regular woman cannot carry a regular man for 100m. Maybe with a lot of tries and strain but definitely a lot slower.
      Also the raven thing sounds interesting, I have to look into that some time. Also you missed my point again about ravens as well. I know it wasn't in the same freaking message, I can read you know. I was just merely interesting because you had mentioned it. I never mentioned that the raven's training was referring to the corp guy lol

      I think if there’s a family they should get to choose which person has to get drafted and the other stays behind. There shoudn’t be a ‘default’.
      Plus there’s also LGBT couples to consider. If the default was women staying home, who would take care of a gay couple’s child? What about poly families? How many people should have to do service in that case? And you can’t forget single parents.
      Of course, the excuse of Mom/Dad stays home and Mom/Dad gets drafted can only go so far if the child has other family that can take care of them.
      There’s alot to consider including the fact that couples could fight over who has to do service. People could have children and become single parents simply to escape military service. It’s one thing to injure yourself to escape service but creating a whole child? And with all this that I say I still think it would be unethical to take either one of a child’s parents from them so taking both parents seems pretty out of the question. But forcing a family to make the decicion of who gets drafted is pretty heavy. Maybe a random selection of who gets drafted would be more fair with the option to change who.
      There’s alot to consider :/

Women should just be completely free to roam around and do whatever they want with complete focus on themselves and 0 regard to their duties to society, unless coincidental. All we're really saying here is "pick your poison". You can't chose to be in the army in times of peace to sit on your ass and get paid and take care of the children and be safe in times of war. You can't make men subject to the draft but have women drift in and out of the army at will depending on if there's any danger involved or not. You're either a fighter or you're not. That's right. If a woman volunteers, meets the same standards and can handle it day in and day out, then cool but DRAFTING women that are more physical incapable then men will only slow down the unit and get others killed. Granted there are a lot of men in the past that were drafted that couldn't hack it. Its a tough question but I say no. Women should stay back and keep the industries going which they proved they were excellent at. WW I & II couldn't have been won if the women weren't pumping out the tanks, guns and bombers at a huge rate. I have a big respect for the work they put in on that front.

I was active duty 3P0X1 and I now work as a civilian police officer for the DAF. Yes women want to be equal to men, but they do need a little more attention due to the female anatomy. Plus, I don't want a woman out on the front line with me smelling like a dead animal. Us men can take body wipes to pur dicks, ass, and arm pits and we be good.

      There's no way in hell feminists would fight for women to have the draft. Let's be honest. They don't want equality. They just want to add all our perks to their perks and leave us with all the crap. Women aren't going to ask guys out but some will say it's harassment if they're not attracted to the guy who asked them out. They're never going to try to get into STEM college courses and careers but they'll forever complain about the wage gap. They want to raise young boys to be in touch with their feelings and cry but they also want to date a strong, confident man with bravado. Men hear this kinda stuff and commonly say, "You're so full of shit!"

      SKDK that's because it's proven that women are given more responsibility in childcare than men. In most unwanted pregnancies it's the woman that has to deal with the baby not the man.

    • @_SKDK_
      @_SKDK_ 7 ปีที่แล้ว +141

      To be fair, that's almost always the woman's fault as well. Women get three chances to decide if they want to keep a baby. Men get one.
      The woman has the opportunity to do abortion, and after birth she can legally leave it at hospital or put the child up for adoption.
      The man gets one shot,
      "Honey I'm not ready for this"
      "Too bad"
      Women can go hump anyone they want and have plenty of safety nets to save them. Men have a rubber and if it breaks its not longer in his hands.
      In fact there's a guy fighting for men's rights in pregnancies right now. As of now men have no say, as if they didn't play a part in it too.
      There would be alot less fatherless children if men weren't put in an ultimatum of take care of a child you don't want or flee (which could lead to jail time if the lady presses for child support and you don't pay up, again, not something he has a choice in)
      I only watch this topic (not video, the pregnancy debate) because I have a friend who in my opinion is suffering. He doesn't see it but he had a bright future ahead of him that was taken away because his gf wanted to keep their baby. Idk why she did it when neither of them were financially stable and were about to go to college but she did. I respect the man for sticking around though, had to cough up his free ride to UTK. Most guys would have proved your claim right and ran away.
      But yes, because of current circumstances you are absolutely correct. That still doesn't mean a father should be sent. I feel parents shouldn't be sent period if their children are still in need of support. Whether that be because they are under 18 or not financially stable enough to support themselves and are currently relying on both parents.

Some argue for an easier test for females, but unfortunately, the strength required for the job doesn’t change for females. The job itself is completely non-discriminating in what it demands.

    Think of it this way, you are in a firefight in Iraq and your battle buddy is a woman. If her PT test doesn't require her to do the buddy drag, and she can't do it physically speaking. If you get shot and she is the only person that can save you by dragging you back to safety, you are going to die. All because she didn't have to pass the same PT test as a man did. • @cadethumann8605
      @cadethumann8605 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @TheBunkerBuster 105 So you're suggesting that we shouldn't have equal rights? Should smart women like my sister not be allowed to voice their opinion on things like politics?
      In all honesty, I'm glad that most women aren't forced into war as they generally aren't as strong as men. But should that mean they should be stripped of things that they can be capable of doing? If you're suggesting this, I'm sorry but I can't agree. I may not care about feminism but I respect women's rights like I do with men's.

    • @cadethumann8605
      @cadethumann8605 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @TheBunkerBuster 105 First off, you don't get to decide the end of discussion. You don't get to proclaim to shut down the argument. Second, I have seen many foolish men just as I have with women. In fact, I'd argue that my sister is smarter than me. Should even smart women like her have their rights taken away while allowing less intelligent men like myself have rights?
      Also, I call it bullocks that women don't contribute to society. There have been famous women in history who had impact. Even without history, I've known many women who have helped people like myself (teachers, doctors, bosses, etc.). Hell, my mother is a boss of her job.
      And most women behaving like children? I think you're listening to the vocal minority you see on news or internet (or maybe a crappy area you live in) because most women I have seen are very, VERY mature, including ones who are younger than my age. Truth be told, as a man myself, I do sometimes depend on them. Are there immature ones? Yes. But the same can be said for men. In the end, I treat people as individuals. I would never, ever want an entire group of people to be stripped of rights, let alone the other half of our species.
      If you are suggesting that women like my sister and mother are worthless in contributing to society, I'm glad that you aren't in charge to dictate who gets to have rights. And if you did, I'd stand against you. And no, it's not a matter of being "PC" or "feminist" or "SJW" or any derogatory political BS.

Of course we need equal rights and women should be able to join as they do. This entire video is bullshit because the draft should be one of the few exceptions for women’s rights

    • @the1ndiegamer811
      @the1ndiegamer811 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thing is, there is constantly equipment being produced to even out the load of the equipment of the body, some of the more modern equipment redcudes the overall load across the body by 75% by redistributing weight, so even if women are slightly weaker biologicly it's challenges that can be overcome. On top of that women can beceome just as as strong as men with abit of extra training.
      That said , women tend to handle civilian handling situations better than men when it comes to the battlefield. The swedish army wants more women just because of women having a stronger ability to handle a situation calmly involving civilians. So biological differences aside both can serve in the army and do an efficent job doing so.

    I'm from a country with a mandatory military service for both men and women, so this whole debate feels a bit odd.
    A. A woman's life is not automatically more valuable than a man's (nor is a mother more valuable than a father)
    B. Just because a woman isn't physically fit enough for combat or the front lines doesn't mean she can't contribute within the military. Especially in an age of technological warfare, there are plenty of positions for people who aren't fit for combat that are majorly valuable to the military
