Thank you so much for this clear video of how to do it. We have had moles on every lawn since we moved here 15 years ago and I didn’t think it was possible to get rid of them. It’s become almost impossible to mow the lawn, because of the undulation. I was just about to get a mole catcher in and I thought I would have a go myself. 😊 the same type, as in this video, and I now can catch them within 24 hours. Thanks

Nice video thanks . Those t bars must get the really deep runs . I tend to trap the shallower ones . Maybe why it takes me a few goes .

Do not ever touch traps or mole holes with naked hands, they have very good nose.

It wont really make any difference, I often use bare hands to set the traps. I also use brand new traps straight out of a box which is another thing people say you shouldn't do. Mole trapping is about setting the trap in just the right place.

      No.

No? Yeah they can smell very good but prove that using bare hands is any less effective than with gloves. Experts will even say its not super critical to wear gloves.

Makes little difference unless you put your Chanel aftershave on the traps .

@@leakyshed1482 100% agree. Placement is the key.

Are these type of traps the most effective? There are a couple of different types. There's the one you are demonstrating and barrel type one which shows no indication that it has triggered. You have to dig them out to have a look. Obviously the scissor type gives you this above ground information. We have just started having a "mole attack" and the guy who came set four scissor type traps. One has triggered fully and another partially. I suspect there's nothing in the fully triggered because since it triggered, more earth has been piling up around it, so as the guy said it is probably disturbance that set it off.The other, the partial trigger may be so because there may actually be a mole caught up in it preventing it from fully closing. We need help urgently, it's my wife's garden and it's her pride and joy. Its breaking her heart to see all of these freaking mounds appearing all over the lawn and flower beds!
