great tutorial man, I have to change my wife's rear disc and brake pads on her 2017 outlander that has only 32k KM. Do u know if its same method as shown on this video since her outlander has the new parking break system with a push button ? Or it doesnt have anything to do with changing brake pads and brake disc ?
Is it the same for 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander SE that has electronic hand brake system? I was told it requires a special tool to recalibrate once the new pads are set in.
Thank you for your comment! You are right, in the case of an electronic handbrake, you should put the brake system into the service mode before replacing it and you can do this by connecting a computer through a special connector. Stay tuned with us! Best regards, Autodoc team!
You can enter service mode without a tool or computer, search youtube for it. You can also use a 12v power source jumped onto the electric connector to wind in the electric piston assist then you can push the piston in. Turn car back on when all is replaced and it automatically adjusts the electric motor to the proper position.
My issue is that the upper slider pin ceased. Is there a way to take that pin out without taking off the brake line? I want to avoid bleeding to fluid.
Thank you for your comment! According to the description, it is difficult to solve your problem, we recommend contacting the service. Best Regards, Autodoc team!
I had the same problem today. If the manufacturers would have moved the brake line over a few millimeters it wouldn't be an issue. Absolutely baffling how they don't consider things like this and just rush to get cars to market.
In order to get the disc off the road or I noticed that you put a screwdriver in a certain hole and rotated it either up or down I don’t understand. What is that?
Thank you for the feedback! Your opinion and remarks are very important for us. We will take them into consideration for our next tutorial. Best regards, Autodoc.

You started well enough but why did you not change the handbrake pads whilst there? also retracting the piston would be an easier to-do if you shows that you opened the brake fluid reservoir first.
Thank you for the feedback! This video is considered to be an informative one, and it shows the sequence of repairs, without going into all the technical nuances. Best regards, Autodoc.
I can explain for you.I use for threads of bolt copper anti-seize grease.Use simple lubrication grease other shaft side of the bolt which without threads.
You didn't use the brake cleaner. You didn't use silicone paste on the back of the brake pads and spots where the edges touch the caliper to prevent rust and squeaking. You didn't use anti-seize on the bolts that attach the brakes to the caliper.
Thank you for your feedback! You are absolutely right, some points were missed, in the future in new videos we will definitely add this information for our viewers. Best regards, Autodoc!
You can’t simply compress the rear caliper piston like you do with the front breaks (like he did on this on the 2015 outlander sport. You need to turn the piston clockwise with dowels until it becomes flush. Piston will NOT compress by vice pressing it. I’m surprised outlanders are that different to that fine detail
Thank you for your feedback! When you use a clutch mechanism for for the caliper piston, you compress the piston by screwing in. When compressing the piston back , it is neccessary to open the brake tank cap. Best regards , Autodoc.
Actually, you can compress the rear caliper pistons on that Outlander, and the 2013and 2014 models as well. I've done it multiple times with a C-Clamp. They don't require the piston to be screwed back into the caliper.
@@holdenmagroyne9827 thank you 🙏🏼 my sis has a 2014 I hate those calipers you have to spin smh I was trying to compress mine for 2 hrs before I had to do some more homework on TH-cam and found out you had to spin it 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Have seen many videos now and can tell that HE shows how he do it but that does not mean at he do it correct/good in this case to obtain guarantee for rotors/brake discks have to change everything including park brake shoes, before installing the new router / spray copper/anti seize lube so next time don't need to hammer off the router and prevent rust build up. in the rotor hole he releases tension of park brake shoes.

Not 100% sure, but I think he turns it to line it up with the star wheel adjuster and uses the screwdriver to turn it to release the tension on the drum brakes, allowing them to be removed.
If ur still wondering what he did, its to adjust the handbrake shoes in and out. so he can easier take of the disc without the brake shoes applying pressure on the disc.

no torque on caliper bolts? how much torque?
In 2016 Outlander no need to use hammer use the 2 small screws removed before, and put 2 rotor holes and tight it rotor will come out easily
