Ok, now onto the info about this Chinese street food tour in Yunnan:
Xizhou, China
On Day 1, we drove from Dali Old Town to Xizhou, another ancient town near Dali, that’s known for some famous Chinese street food snacks.
We started for breakfast with a thick pea porridge and a pea pudding salad. The grandmother serving had been making these same dishes since she was a child with her mother. The breakfast was warming and delicious, and it hit the spot in the morning.
Total price - 8 RMB ($1.20)
Xizhou Baba - Probably the most famous Chinese street food you have to try in Xizhou is baba, which is also sometimes known as a Chinese pizza. It’s a round of dough that’s mixed with lard and meat, or the sweet version, and baked in a unique street oven using charcoal. Part of the fun is watching it being made. Then of course, eating it is absolutely delicious.
Price - 10 RMB ($1.50) per piece
Yunnanese cheese - Next up in Xizhou we went to watch a local Yunnanese Cheese demonstration. Yunnan is one of the few places in China where there is a cheese culture - some say it was brought over with the Mongols. We made some local cheese, then put it out to dry, then they let us sample some different types of the prepared cheese. Price - 8 RMB ($1.20)
Yi He Zhuang (怡和庄) Restaurant - This Yunnanese ethnic Bai Chinese food meal was the highlight of my day. We had an absolute feast of a meal, including a few unique Chinese dishes like raw pig sashimi and pine needle salad. Everything was colorful, using natural ingredients and the flavors were spectacular. This meal is one I’ll never forget.
Total price - 215 RMB ($32.41)
Dali Old Town - It was a long day of delicious Chinese food, and in the evening we drove back to Dali Old Town and headed out for dinner.
Duan’s Kitchen - For dinner we were back in Old Town Dali, and my friend Frank from Zouba Tours mentioned that Duan’s Kitchen was a little touristy, but he said we needed to try it because the food was amazing and they are doing some unique things. The food was outstanding, and my favorite dish was the chicken braised in chili oil with pu’er tea.

I lived in Kunming for 2 years. (The capital of the Yunnan Province.) This video brings back so many memories. The people there are so lovely (for the most part). The street food was endless. There are so many ethnic minorities with distinct cuisines that there was always something new to try. The babas were among my favorite things to eat.
Thank u for doing this Mark...we may never get to go to all these countries ourselves and even if we do we would never get to eat at these local places...but through your videos we get to experience it all
I just love your videos. I've been subscribed to your page for a couple of years now and I love your style. I can tell that you are not just traveling to eat....you appreciate different cultures and their lifestyles. I learn a lot from you.....and I LOVE the fact that your family is with you wherever You go. Micah is getting big. I see him holding his own cup. Ying is a trooper when it comes to her men. People in Yunnan are so friendly, relaxed and happy! They live a very good life with their unique culture and lifestyle.

As someone who grew up in Yunnan Province, I am amazed by Mark's video! These are exactly the most typical Yunnan food.
Asian food to me is among the best out there, everything has so much flavor. Delicious sauces, different textures, choice of ingredients. And I only had Asian food in US, I can only imagine how wonderful the food is at the actual location.
This was one of the best Vlogs you've made. Amazing food, plus great courage to eat the raw pork since your system is not use to it. In my travels to the region I always ate everything presented, regardless of how unusual it was as I never wanted to offend anyone. My rule of thumb is if the locals eat it so can I.
Je S - I think it’s great that you are so respectful to others and their culture/food, I wish I could say I was that game to try anything but I do scare easily when it comes to raw meats and bugs. It’s great that people like you are willing to live life to the fullest and try anything 😊if only I could lol

I used to study in Bangkok for a year, Thai food is definitely my favorite, you are so lucky to live there. I remember China is where all this food journey began back in 8 years, where you had some bioled vegetables and a plate of Dumpling(jiao zi) I believe in Yunnan or nearby provinces, but I coundn't find that video anymore. So glad you came back to China again with Ying and Mika where you can spend your entire life to explore, there is just so much to try!

Wonderful location with a Chef guide. I have never eaten raw pork, intriguing, I would definitely need sauce. Cute baby Micah is very talkative in this video. Noodles and rice didn't take over the meals. The berry yogurt dessert looked not to sweet, I like that.

Thank you for posting this, Mark. That looks so delicious. Have you ever been to Macau? I went there a few years ago and it was awesome. I ate the Portuguese egg tarts and they were yummy. I went to the Boa Mesa Macau Restaurant and it was excellent.

Sometimes I really got tired of watching his videos because I always feeling hungry and salivating every time he put food in his mouth , I have the urge to grabbing it.
