Ummm what are you talking about. It's completely optional. You don't have to enter the tournament. The game even tells you that
@@KevinSatron it's not optional. Most of it is optional. There are literal storyline missions which require you to play the card game.

The tower defense one from the dlc was so much better
@@abelalba3111 really? I'm at Costa del Sol and only saw it once in the relic illusion thing, you should finish the dlc though it's pretty short and the boss battles are fire

I didn’t know you could skip it until after I’d already done it, but I enjoy the card game so it didn’t bother me. But I can definitely see why people wouldn’t.

I dropped out of the tournament, because I had no clue how to play and just placed cards at random.
Then at the awards ceremony, after Red XIII challenged me, it was at that moment I was like “OH! Now I know how to play!” So I beat Red, was excited and expected to be put back in…but it was already too late. And after that I just paused the game for a while to think about how foolish I was for backing out, and then learning how to play when it was already over.
I REALLY hated that they put a card game in this. Tried it once and was terribly confused. Just came back a few days later and found this video and thought I learned nothing from this video. Decided to try a match in the game. Lost the first time but did a rematch and just instantly remembered details from this video, applied it, and actually figured out how this card game works. I won that first match and ended up winning all the others matches that come afterwards up to winning the Chocobo & Moogle card, and now I actually like queen’s blood. It’s not bad and it’s short. This video did more for me than I originally thought

Love this mini game, banger. Scored 80pts against Wise2.0 due to my card loadout, and just keep matching against him for fun. The second trip to golden saucer almost had me, those custom games werre tough.
Yeah they struck gold with this one for sure.
Annoyed I had to do it in the story but glad I stuck to it and found a way that works. The finale was totally worth it!
I was surprised how much I've enjoyed playing Queen's Blood. I normally ABHOR card minigames but this one I'm hooked.

I dig the card game. Its fun! Only almost out of junon now but i am absolutely loving this gsme! My only gripe...the chocobos at the ranch did not dance....i dont need details on how but if anyone can confirm just wether or not it happens later, i need to know

Negitivity warning.....but totally personal and I truly hope eveyone is enjoying it to their litte hearts content......But, I HATE this card game. I'm skipping it and everything related to it, and I couldn't give a damn what it costs me lol. I personally can't stand ingame card games and it's not worth pushing through something I hate, I wanna enjoy rebirth x

I hate that they incorporated this trash card game into side quests
It took a few tries but it’s really not that bad. Plus with side quests. The npc will mess up more often to make it easier
Realistically, it's not a trash card game. It's an easy one to learn. Can be frustrating at first though. Get good bud...and I just started the game for the first time yesterday

Yeah Kevin Smith movies were staples of my teenage years and into my late 20’s. I don’t love all of them, but the Jay and Silent Bob universe is damn near perfect. Even Mallrats, which I’ve heard some people don’t like for some reason. I still need to watch Clerks 3 though

It can be difficult even for someone that knows how to play thoroughly. Try to follow some of the tips I’ve given here and see if it helps.

So im at the chapter 5 part to play queens blood but ive been skipping this card game so far. Is their any benefits to actually playing it in this chapter or could I just fofeit??
There’s some cool character interactions for playing it, but unless you plan to really get into Queen’s Blood and finish the questline for it, I don’t think there’s any adverse effects.

guys i figured it out. focus on not just expanding your territory and limiting your opponents but CHANGING YOUR OPPONENTS PAWN COLORS.
IF YOU CHANGE 2 OF YOUR OPPONENTS PAWN SPACES AT THE SAME TIME, HE CAN ONLY PLAY ON ONE WHILE YOU PLAY THE OTHER.

When I Play a match of Queens Blood I turn the volume down and play the Gwent Theme to give it the old Witcher Card Game feel, plus the Queen's Blood music is kind of lame so hearing the Gwent Theme 🎵🎶🎵🎶 adds to the experience!

I had the highest school average in my Provence and I also play chess so I don’t think I’m a dummy
But with this game it’s like I’m actually disabled - so lost
I get confused with the way the card show a 5x5 grid and the game is 3x5. The positioning for some cards confuses me because of that. Tips?
So basically those are so that you can place them several places and still have them take effect. Some are a little stupid though to be honest LMAO but, unless you can come up with some kind of combo, I’d recommend just removing them from your deck

One point i noticed is that higher ranked opponents later on will always try to bait you, and they got so much coverage with their cards.
So filling up the first column is a requirement at first, and then you should wait for an opening from your opponent and then steal his spots.
That’s literally the core strategy in the game.
Yeah I like to use corner pieces in the top and bottom left corners, then bring out my Screamer card to create a wall from the middle tile in the first column. It’s helped me win several games. Aggression gets rewarded a lot

It took me quite a few games to get going and actually know wtf I was doing. The tutorial wasnt much help to me at all. For anyone who has already given up on this game already, just keep trying. Try to begin with 1 pawn cards. The shinra soldier card is also your best choice at the beginning (you should have two of those). You want to start with one in tile 6 and then tile 7 if you get some luck drawing a second one.
Yeah it gets much easier once you get a few games in and understand the fundamentals of the game. The tutorial was kinda low in info, so I figured I’d make this video to break it down a little more.

This card game is stupid and they just had to tie it into the main story of the game, dude this is like Sphere Break in FFX-2 all over again but whereas that was actually enjoyable, it ceases to be relevant after getting the Lady Luck sphere, I would rather get kicked in the gut by a chocobo rather than to play this travesty
It's just an utterly convoluted game that isn't fun in the slightest. Sorry, this tutorial didn't help me.
