I had the same issue on my 2010 ram and I ended up replacing both wheel hubs both cv axles and the passenger side intermediate shaft. The shaft you can get from Napa but the seal is dealer only. The truck has been great since then. Best of luck to you.

I made a mistake of getting front hubs off amazon and one went bad in 4 months the other in 4 days. You get what you pay for i guess lol.

I just replaced my driver side CV axle, wheel hub/ bearing. My stub shaft seemed to be okay when I had iy dismantled, but the CV axle shredded both boots and was clanking around so bad that I had it towed home. Normally I'd have someone else do it rather than me in a wet gravel parking lot, but I am tired of being raped by mechanics. I have had the upper ball joint fail in the past and take out the outer CV shaft as it fell to the ground. Luckily I was barely moving at the time, but it caused damaged to my headlight and fender as well. Good thing I wasn't actually traveling on a road or highway. I have had rear axle trouble as well. The suspension and drivetrain on these trucks are absolute garbage IMHO. So far the engine has been running strong at 187k. I should knock on wood!

After trucks get five years old or so you need to keep up with maintenance or else you get a major bill all at once. I spent 340$ Cdn for a passenger side axel, stub shaft and bub for the driver side. Also put on new pads and a rotor which was seized onto the hub and had to be beat off with a maul. Truck has just over 130K on it and is a 2011. Second axle in two years on that side because I should have replaced the stub shaft the first time. It seemed to be tight on the new shaft but i can now tell it wasn't and wore out the splines to the point where it's sloppy. Ironically the new axel boots didn't last two years. People can say that's what happens when you buy cheap made in China parts but you have zero way of knowing where parts are made now. Once trusted companies now get their parts made in China as well, very few are actually made outside Asia even if they have our flag on the box.

This was a smart idea until you can fix the shaft. Don’t care what anyone says. At least you won’t watch your wheel roll away while you’re driving.
