    This video helped me tremendously! I was trying to figure out how to change out my pass side stub shaft and definitely didn't want to take that front diff cover off....a complete PITA! I did everything like you said with the tool from HF and it pulled right out no problem! THANK YOU!!

    Thank you for this vid! So much easier than tearing the front diff apart like everyone else says you have to. I wasn’t able to find the kit you used so I just welded a nut on the end and threaded my slide hammer into the nut and just like you 3 hits and she was out. Thanks again supper helpful video!!

    Thank you for sharing this information with us all. Here's an idea for anyone who will remove the shaft this way, wrap 2 hose clamps around the puller jaws on the slide hammer and tighten them around it and the axle and itll hold it all together for ya..

      @@TwiztedGamingNetwork i did exactly what you did, but there were just two things i had to do different, first i had to improvise then modify lol the jaw adapter with two screws and bolts to hold the jaws cause i couldn't get them to stay still lol then i use a 11" C clamp locking pliers to hold the 2 small jaws together. Finally got the S.O.B. out..Thnks a bunch again for the vid 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

    Strong rubber band works to hold the slide hammer teeth together if you don’t have a clamp. Everyone’s old lady has hair electrics too. They work also lol

    This is a great idea, for the next person who needs to do the same, cut the groove in the bad stub shaft to fit the tool rather than grinding the tool and weakening it for future use. Good job though, hind sight is always 20/20

  • @TwiztedGamingNetwork

    The stub shaft was the only part. That i had to replace so it was the only part i removed. But i imagine if you were needing to replace the bearing or seal you could flip the claws around on the slide hammer attatchment to pull and replace.

  • @Jackknife-TV

    I'm going to be doing the same job here soon thanks Dodge..... I looked everywhere to see if this ever happened to a Chevy Silverado or anything I can't find it..... Nothing like going to do an oil change and grabbing your CV shaft to pull yourself under and feel it flopping around......

    I
    Would this be the same for a 2015?? I put a new CV shaft on it didn't have a c clip on the shaft so I put back together without one? Mistake it tore the new shaft up?? Now I'm thinking it's the bearing on the end of the stub shaft?

    • @TwiztedGamingNetwork
      @TwiztedGamingNetwork  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes definitely the same for a 15 if the clip wasn't on the shaft when you pulled it out I would be concerned that is floating around in the diff.

    Did this cause you a front end vibration? I have a 2012 Ram 1500 Crew Cab that has a bad vibration when reaching speeds after 55 mph. What was the issue that made you change the drive axle shaft?

    • @TwiztedGamingNetwork
      @TwiztedGamingNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the vibration issue myself. Originaly it was a combination of bad wheel hubs and the stub shafts. I would also suggest check your front sway bar links and mounts.

  • @ballinger214

    I replaced the stub shaft but I am having lateral motion, do you thinks it's a faulty part because it clicked right in when I did it, but i have gone through quite a few axles, so I'm not sure what to do, seeing if you have some insight

    • @TwiztedGamingNetwork
      @TwiztedGamingNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its possible that the bearing inside the diff housing has gotten worn. Iv had a small amount of movement with all components. This could be due to differences in manufacturing.

    • @dnlmachine4287
      @dnlmachine4287 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the AXLE itself is moving/sliding left-right, check the axle female splines to be sure they have the groove cut to accept the c-clip.
      Some do, some do NOT.

      Try spraying some kind of lubricant wd40 pb blaster or in a pinch vegtable oil down the splines give a few min the try and pin the recieving end of the axle in something give a few good smacks with a decent size hammer to break the rust loose not on your stub shaft though.
