I just brought 400x second hand 1500miles and first impression of the bike was happy engine ! Yours is a bit louder than mine, after my first ride 30 miles eng oil is leaking out of the clutch lever on the engine ! And the kill switch turned itself of once ! Good luck my friend but a good bike apart from all these different problems triumphs where always renowned for leaking oil , but thay was in the 1950's😅
I test rode 3 Himalayans and 1 Scrambler 400x. All Himalayans had tappets sounds and engine noise louder than the exhaust sound. But on the Scrambler the only sound I could hear was the exhaust sound. No mechanical clatter what so ever. But seems like after a bit of run, both bikes end up with the same condition.
That rattling and clanking from the top end sounds bad. Definitely not normal. All good valve trains should make a soft whirring sound and clicking. Not that clattering sound. Probably either the timing chain is loosing and slapping around, or the valve clearances are WAY too loose. It could also be a bad bearing and the camshaft is slapping up and down, but that's less likely because the motor would fail pretty quickly.
Hi, i have changed the engine oil to castrol 10w50 super bike. Man now the bike is smooth, vibe free & Heats less when compared to the Hp prolube. Also the unwanted tappet noise is also not present. The stock oil is of low quality and looses is viscosity fast. Save your Bike's Engine and use some quality engine oil Brands such as motul, castrol , liqui moly. YOU will feel the difference !!
Hi, most of the bike having the paint issue mine too. I sloved that with a balck perment marker 😀. The manufacturer fill only mineral oil for new engines (will be replaced with synthatic oil during first service) that is the main reason for the tappet noise that will be more auidable while engine is hot. Slight tappet noise is a trade mark character of triumph engines dear wether its a single, twin or trippel.
That tappet noise is normal. Get the cam chain tensioner replaced under warranty. In my opinion the extra noise is due to cam chain slack which isnt getting auto adjusted by the tensioner.
Hey everyone, thanks for watching! Make sure to like, share & subscribe, also lemme know what kind of videos are you'll expecting from me. I am trying to be consistent to upload videos. Note: few points that I have missed out. Tapped noise issue is because of chain tensioner. Many owners reported that by replacing chain tensioner issue might go. I am not able understand why Triumph technicians say its normal and they don't take further action to solve this issue. And the sticker issue we have to live with it. May be wrap the sticker
Any update on the annoying noise? In my case, the noise is only noticeable when I'm accelerating between 3.5 and 4 rpm... before 3,000 revs I don't hear anything, and above 4,000 revs neither, just the engine noise and "normal" vibration. of the motorcycle.
its not tappet noise, sometimes when engine is hot timing chain tensioner inside might take while for correct the tension, unless the tensioner inside is not efficiently functioning.
@@PassionateBiker compare with others, don’t take bike back, even trident street triple have had timing chain/tensioner corrected under warranty, also you will notice some performance loss if this is the case, otherwise it could be clutch plate, check oil level

Yes it will peel off in edges because you have to use PPF to protect the paint or else it will be like this I have faced these kind of issues in my previous bikes.
Hi , first get your first service done. See if it gets solved because currently new bike will be having mineral oil. So after first oil change issue might get solved. If still the issue doesn't solve or comes back after some time. Then try to change chain tensioner it's hardly 350₹ if still the issue persist then service center will takes permission from triumph to open engine head to adjust the shims. For all this to happen you need to raise complaint on app. So that triumph will take action on service center.
@@PassionateBiker Do they need to open the head for chain tensioner replacement? My Scrambler has also started this ticking noise recently, crossed 800km so will get the first service done and observe for changes like you mentioned.

It's not dominor engine. Because it's totally different. Stroke and bore size as will the chain is on other side unlike KTM and dominor. I have test ridden dominor too. Triumph is way more smoother then ktms and dominor. Infact u can say KTM and dominor has same exact engine.
