My case I have no error code on the transmission, The error code I have is cylinder 4 misfire. But my is250 2007 pull forward in Reverse and Neutral position
I have P0500, i have checked the vss sensors, the gearbox (physical check), checked the solenoids, serviced the gearbox too.. I'm currently checking the wiring but have no access to wiring diagrams. I'm no mechanic and i have tried so many different technicians to check the car and it has always been a waste of money. Most of the troubleshooting I've done on my own. I'm troubleshooting the wiring without any diagrams which is difficult. I'll be testing the TCM and instrument cluster this weekend. This problem is quite frustrating. Edit: How do i tell whether its the TCM or ECU that needs to be worked on?
Hey Jack, hope you are well. I have the same lexus model and i have 2 very big issues, The first one is my lexus automatically loses horn,lights control, indicator, head lights and steering wheel adjusting button. The second one is my car some time does this problem where my car won’t run when i throttle until the rpm reaches 3 and it kicks very badly(like it just got in gear) and while driving it automatically brakes really hard for 1-2 seconds, tires screeching kind of braking. Please i need help no one can help me solve this issue. We have done computer tests but it doesn’t show any errors, just some normal ones. I will appreciate the response.
i have a 08 lexus is 250 the car has a 2014 is 250 transmission ( was found to be similar and worked perfectly and is lasting longer) now recently it has an issue where the car runs perfectly when cold however as soon as the car gets warm and under load the transmission starts slipping and loses all drive. do you know what could cause this?
I have a 2014 is250 and its giving me code p2757 with the check engine light. It drives perfectly fine. Dealership says to replace the transmission. Do you think my issue is the same and maybe just the computer needs updating?
hey i have a 08 is 350 and pretty much does the same but my light came on but the code was p0101 MAF sensor i replaced that but its still high rpms same thing for the is250 or no?
hi sir, Recently my 2006 lexus IS250 will skip 3rd gear whenever the engine is not fully warm up. Once warm up the shifting is back to normal. There is no check engine light. Could be this PCM issue too?
Same problem on my is350 bro but don’t know if I should change the solenoid or just get a new transmission I know the mechanics be lying and want you to pay to get a new transmission but if you just have to change the solenoid, do you know what’s the whole point?
Hi Jack. Rex here from South Africa. I'm having the same Issue. I have an '07 IS250. Gear sometimes get stuck on 4th and wont go to 5 and 6. When i removed the negative terminal on the battery and put it back say 10seconds later its now able to go onto 5th and 6th gear. Could the PCM be the issue?
I’m having the same issue with my 2006 Lexus is250, and I don’t have the money to do this right now. Will leaving it alone damage my transmission or will it only continue to feel sluggish?
You can, if you want to spend more money than necessary. I forgot how much a new PCM costs but it’s over $1000 plus programming. It’s better to get it repaired by Josh.
My 2012 is 250 it doesn’t shift from 4th gear, like it stays in 4th and doesn’t go to 5th or 6th it shifts fine from 1-4th but stays in 4th could this be the issue?

My 2007 Camry (V6) had a the same problem and the dealer just updated the software and problem fixed. I see RX350 have the same issues.

Sounds to me like the transmission needs a rebuild. But I would get it diagnosed by a reputable shop just to be sure.

Hard to say. I’d probably get a second opinion from a reputable transmission shop. Find someone who’s experienced with Toyota/Lexus transmissions.

P0101 can affect engine performance and transmission shifting but it’s not exactly the same issue as I showed in the video.

It definitely could be, but it could also be a mechanical problem too. I’d recommend getting it diagnosed by a competent shop.

Make sure it’s not an ECU issue. I would definitely get a second opinion before replacing the transmission.

Hi Rex! Yes, very likely the PCM is the issue. Of course, I can’t know for sure without seeing your vehicle, but I would say it’s very likely.
It has a bad cam phaser. Seems to rattle on start.
My car 2007 is250 had similar problems but it was on and off, only sometimes tho

It won’t do any damage in the short term, but I would plan on fixing it as soon as you can. I don’t know if it would do any damage long term.
