Why hasn't NPR made an album for their Tiny Desks? Forget the totes and coffee mugs, cut an album and I'm sure they'd have no problem meeting their donation goals.
Licensing other people's music is expensive in its own right. They'd have to sign a different deal with each artist, and a lot of them don't want to appear on an album with someone else's music.
You can also listen to audio-only versions in their NPR Tiny Desk podcast. You can stream them or download them from iTunes. You can even make your own album out of your favorites!

What a cool person! I love that she's very humble and has love for her band-members. She explicitly went out of her way to make sure the room knew their names, at 2:22 , and ensured she wasn't the primary centre of attention. That's a pretty good character trait. I heard about "Noname" from Frankie Boyle, who mentioned that he discovered Noname's music recently on Romesh Ranganathan's podcast ("Hip Hop Saved My Life" -- search TH-cam for it). Both Frankie and Romesh are well known British comedians, and they were both taken aback how different Noname sounded, and so here I am listening to this gorgeous woman's gorgeous vocal flow!

I love her voice, it's so unique. Normally sometimes when females rap, they put this aggression in their voice.. but she doesn't have to do that. I think that also helps with the pleasant vibes she sends off.

I saw him open a show for Earth Gang and Smino in Montreal last summer. He had some pretty good rap songs but then they darkened up the stage and the dude just started singing and it was one of the many many highlights of that night. When Phoelix sings it cleanses your soul.

I saw him open a show for Earth Gang and Smino in Montreal last summer. He had some pretty good rap songs but then they darkened up the stage and the dude just started singing and it was one of the many many highlights of that night. When Phoelix sings it cleanses your soul.
