Nice review guys. Agreed. You should get and review the Talisker 35 1977 from 2012. That one is my favorite of these older Talisker cask strength releases.
I have the same bottle open currently! It’s delicious. I do find the 2007 25 year just has a little more vibrancy that trumps the extra complexity of the 30. I’m a complete sucker for well aged cask strength Talisker.
Wow, 76 eh. I was a teen in high school listening to my Kiss, Rush, Nugent, Trower, Johnny Winter, Aerosmith records but not drinking Scotch just yet. Cheers & Merry Christmas
What a treat this must've been. I've got a bottle of the 2004 25 CS, which is just fantastic; but it'll be another couple years until I burn out my wallet again on one of these old Taliskers. The secondary prices are insane right now, especially as CS Talisker (at least, mature CS Talisker) gets rarer and rarer. Cheers.
Very inspiring, altough the whisky is above my leage pricewise (being for 4 years or so into whisky). Having said that, I do have had several older 20+ whiskies and, indeed, there is - like you two conclude with respect to the Talisker - so much of a difference between 46% and cask strength, especially if it comes to older whiskies. In general, I do not buy 20+ whiskies which are not high proof. Great review! Merry christmas from the Netherlands!
Merry Christmas and happy new year! I’ve been to Amsterdam a couple times, I love that City. Yeah, cast strength makes everything better.Talisker was one of my top five distilleries 15 years ago. Today they’re just a shell of their form of glory along with Highland Park & Lagavulin
Awesome gents. Keep it rolling.

The 2004 Talisker 25 was my FAVORITE vintage of the cask strength 25. Just a perfect Talisker.

Would you mind sharing what you paid?
I hope we get a really solid deal on this. Around 850 delivered if I recall.
@ I’d say you got a fantastic deal
@@jazzman642 don't ask Mike what he pays. He has people he buys from and has relationships with. it's not a "market" price :)
