@Brewzle what was the 11 year old run aged in the Woodford double oak barrels????
Rum*
What was the name of the rum you tried?
15:38 "if that jacket gets tattered imma tatter yo ass" is the most parent thing I've heard on TH-cam 😂
I was in tears when after he said that lol
The 1 hour long hunting videos are indeed the chefs kiss
The guy from Merchants knew what he was talking about. You could clearly tell that it was his passion and that he was good at what he was doing.
17:51 would fully endorse a Brewzle x Bob Does Sports collab. Couple of the best channels out there
Let's get it done!
@@BrewzleI'm sure they'd do a drinking challenge with you! Get them to do something other than Fireball!
YES YES YES to the Bob Does Sports collab. Would be SUPERB!
The young man with the woodford picks was bomb. Super hype about whiskey for a young person loved him dropping his knowledge
It's awesome to see Will out with the old man.
We need to convince him to come more often
@@Brewzle INDEED
Just did the woodford reserve distillery tour. According to our guide the double double oak is aged an additional 9 to 12 months longer than the double Oaked in SAME barrel as the double oak
Ice wine is when the grapes freeze on the vine and then are pressed and fermented, one of the first wines I ever had was an ice wine, it is sweet but not too sweet with a smooth finish, I would love to try that bottle you got.
They can be super sweet.
Niagara on the Lakes - they make it there. I've also heard of ice-wine being made from ciders that were allowed to freeze, then the frozen cask/vessel is turned upside down as the temperature is right at 32 or just below freezing... the water stays frozen, the alcohol comes out. Some call it an alternate distillation process...
When you warned about this video in the live I felt like it would have been alot worse than it was. Kudos on your transparency and leaving a lot of bottles behind.
Nice that you passed on endorsing a store pick you weren’t confident in knowing fully - shows how much Brewzle actually cares about the community and integrity!
Southern tier is originally from Lakewood, NY south of Buffalo. Im from the area and i love seeing Southern Tier growing. You should try their pumking or warlock stout
AWESOME VIDEO!!! Possibly my favorite "hunting" video so far. As a Tennessean, I was tickled for the local courtesy you got. AND... Id be thrilled w/ a Bob Does Sports or a GOOD GOOD collab with Will. That'd be unreal. My 2-3 fave channels together... Pretty sure Joey, from BDS and Steve from GG are Whiskey fans so.... heck yeah, let's start the Whiskey/Golf collab vids, and I'd love to see Will and Brewzle swinging that D-Stick!
please do not waste one of the weekly videos on some dumb golf crap
I just did the tour at Woodford Reserve. Double double oak is not 3-4 barrels, it is just more time in the 2nd barrel than the standard double oak. Hope this provides some insight. Love your channel!
I look forward to these vids on a Friday afternoon ! Keep em coming 👍
So my dad is in town and we watched the video. "What are we doing tomorrow?" was thrown out... bourbon hunting I guess. We hit all the stores except Merchants yesterday, had a great time, we'll hit them next time in Knoxville. Live about 1 1/2 hours west. All the stores were neat and clean, staff was great. Saw some bottles I'd never seen. Was a good day hanging out. City Farms has a Woodford Baccarat in the rich uncle room, that was very cool to see.
I grew up just South of Maryville in a little town called Madisonville. One of the main reasons why you have such great liquor selections is most of the counties around Blount are dry counties. At least Liquor dry. At least that was the case 35 yrs ago. Good stuff
Love the Bob Does Sports collab idea. Would be a very funny episode
I love how quickly beer/stouts have become a primary character. I love it!
Ice wine is a desert wine. The grapes are harvested after the first frost and pressed, because they were on the vine for so long there's a ton of sugar built up in the grape and not much juice. So you get very little yield for the amount of grapes used. It's very sweet, but absolutely delicious.
Eiswein (ice wine) is similar to a Sauternes, the most famous of which is Chateau Y'quem in Bordeaux. Whereas Sauternes is produced after a fungus, Botrytis) referred to as noble rot, attacks the fruit and removes most of the water content...intensifying the flavors, Eiswein reaches a similar state from freezing, which also concentrates the flavors. A stellar Sauternes can have a 2 minute finish which is incredible!
I need to hang out with Brewzle lol looks like a blast
It was!! 10/10 highly recommend. Will was fun too!
So what you're saying is Brewzle is more fun than Ole Willy Boy.. hehe
Next time you are in East TN, you need to head over to Red Hot Liquors in Cleveland TN (30mins north of Chattanooga). Some of best selection of store picks I have seen!
OK I'm a member of the Brewzel club now. I just enjoy your posts and videos so much. Thank you for the education on Whiskey and Burbon.
Short Mountain is grown, distilled, aged, and bottled in Woodbury, TN. It's about an hour Southeast of Nashville. I have a bottle of their wheat whiskey that's 132 proof and does not tastes like its that hot. Short Mountain started off with just moonshine and has been getting into the aged whiskey games. Other than the wheat whiskey I've only had their apply pie shine.
Great video! Everyone really rolled out the red carpet for you!
Coloradoan here. Been getting lit up on 10fiddys for over 15 years. I have some from 2011-2012!
Hey TJ, first off, your videos are the best on TH-cam. Your presentation is spot on, and I absolutely enjoy that you do not get into the long sniffing! I have a question to you about what do you do when the cork on the bottle breaks? Can you recommend replacement corks that can fit different openings???
i lived in knoxville 30 years ago and what has most popped from this video is, damn.... you were ping-ponging all over the area. knoxville, to alcoa, to knoxville, to gatlinburg... that's a lot of driving.
oh, and you managed to make a great video out of it
When talking about the golf video, the TV in the background had golf on it lol.
I live in knoxville and the guy is not wrong slowly everything is becoming either north east south or west Knoxville
That barrel aged Ten Fidy is some good stuff. You’ll like it. Top notch.
As a guy who is getting into the whiskey/bourbon game, can’t love these videos enough! Hope to run into you one day sir
Awesome long play vid, love these hunts and the insight from the people you meet. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it
Great idea for the jacket!!! A great hunt and some cool VIP experiences!
i like the quick interview in the beginning
It is cause you are damn good at what you do TJ. You say you're not an expert but that's humility. Your palate gravitates to a lot of people!
Checking in. Excited for the video.
Loved the vibe at Cedar Bluff
I'm a Knobb Creek guy, but a good friend of mine's brother works at the Bullit distillerie and gifted me s bottle...when he gave it to me...he said did you notice it's nit sealed. He said tge bottle came off the line, but the Bourbon came from a 60yr old barrel....talk about amazing...it lasted one night...lol
$75 FOR THE 1924!?! He sold you at cost.
Schmoozing and acting like ya know what you're talking about goes a long way with plenty of people. Talking into a camera and mentioning you've got half a million subscribers doesn't hurt his odds either. Walking into a random store and getting an old Fitz just because you're a TH-camr is wild. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
😂🤓
I agree the southern tier sugar cookie beer is great. We have plenty of it in South Carolina around Christmas time.
That beer is a seasonal one and I've never had an issue finding it at Hop City in Atlanta.
i love that first store! we bought the liquor for our wedding from there!
Short Mountain do make their own stuff! It's a cool little tour! It got started really big in Prohibition in Woodbury. Al Capone made a deal with the owners and 95 percent of families of Woodbury had 3 stills a piece to supply Capone's demand all over the country.
Brewzle - Tell Will the best place to get that Southern Tier Sugar Cookie is in Charlotte NC - Brewers at 4001 Yancy. It's a ST flagship collab brewery. I actually have a few bottles here at my house and will gladly send them to you.
This was a different style of video than the usual hunting videos because everybody already knew you were coming and were well prepared. This kind of video would be cool every once in a while, but I still prefer the usual hunting videos. One thing that did kind of ruffle my feathers is how that one guy was talking about rewarding all his loyal customers at the end of the year. Then immediately proceeds to take you in the back to pick out whatever you want. And I'm sure his loyal customers did not appreciate that either.
Founder’s Backwoods Bastard is a very good bourbon barrel aged scotch ale that you can usually find at a very good price point. Allagash Curiex is another. It’s a belgian style tripel aged in barrels for only 6 weeks, so it’s not thick and syrupy like a BBA stout; flavors of light grape, citrus, banana, honey with a fantastic note of oak and vanilla on the finish.
Did the barrel tasting experience at Jeptha Creed... sat in the Rick house, got to pull from the barrel with a barrel thief... that was cool. On the nose, it was dusty, musty... like an old piece of plywood that sat in the backyard, in the dirt. That transferred directly to the palate. I tried so hard to like the juice but couldn't. The experience was great, though.
Damn. I’m very proud of you and your families accomplishments! This was s very fun episode and y’all deserved it.
Also best beer you can find where you were hunting is Blackhorse Brewery...the Alcoa location is relatively new, but their original location has been around since 94 and they do some great stuff
Holy moly!! That 8 year Fitz at $110! I would buy that all day long at that price. I’ve never been able to find a bottle here in West Virginia or Virginia. And online, the prices are all over the place. $299-$549. Insane! I just refuse to pay that exorbitant amount, but $110? Hell yeah!
Love how will took initiative to strap down the jacket in the back. Way to go young man!
It's what I do.. gotta keep the old man smelling decent -will
@@Brewzle love it! Just seen you munch down those tacos looked delicious! Would love to see you guys travel down to North Texas! LiquorKing in Allen Tx has some incredible bottles!
@@vonrodri314 flew over from the UK at the end of last year and stayed in McKinney, if I'd have had this knowledge then I'd have taken that advice and gone for a look myself!
Great video! Those stores took care of you!
Yes, the jacket strap is a great idea
The jacket strapped down is a legend move and you should be proud.
Sooooooo as a follower I love seeing you get deals. I don’t care about being the critique. I enjoy watching I enjoy listening to your critiques about the whiskeys and I leave my mind open willing to try what you say is good and even what you say is bad to see if I can match tastes or similar or not at all. this way, I have found some great whiskeys by doing that with you. You’ve been so on point but then I tastes haven’t matched at all and that’s a great thing as I’ve said before Forget thahh haters.
Now that was a Bourbon hunting video! Great job and keep it up.
Hard Truth makes some solid rye. They’re located right here in central/south west Indiana and they now make all their own juice. Excellent ryes, and the new standard 90 proof bourbon is delicious. Four grain BiB is pretty solid too! All the single barrels I have had absolutely slap
This was actually an awesome video, I wish we had some of these stores in Colorado
Been waiting on a bourbon hunt video😂
we had the beer he was talking about at city farms during the winter. its seasonal
If you are going to do a golf episode you should think about hosting a golf charity event.
Nice trip. Planning on picking up a 2XO Gem of Kentucky myself this week.
Merchants was my old store back in college, always had good prices and selection
I wanna see a golf-bourbon video collab!!
There's actually a good amount of people who do
Southern Tier sugar cookie done around Christmas time here in New York as well, Oldman winter ale another good one around the holidays as well.
I enjoyed it. Great video. Thx
BobDoesSports collab would be epic! Two of my favorite channels!
My son bought a bottle of the workhorse lucky seven. Really good sipper loved it
Bourbon hunt Augusta GA then get a tour of The Masters course and club house. See what they use in an old fashion. See there bourbon selection.
I was driving from Alabama to Florida just last week and a completely run down. Might blow over in a stiff wind building in a small not much money town. No care in their displays and a the other half of the store was a discount grocery, they wanted $650 for that very same old fits and $420 for stagg......I like the guy running his store he gets a few extra points for being on the same planet as the rest of us
If you ever come through the Houston area, i would recommend stopping by Avonak Distillery in Spring. Pretty new operation that is basically a one man show. Amazing bourbons and award winning Gins.
Hey Brewzle! My name is Dakota and I poured the tastes for you at Green Meadow. It was a pleasure to meet you, and come back any time!
Thank you, Dakota!
Southern Tier is up north somewhere. It's in New York State on the Southern tier right above Pennsylvania
I have a barrel strength short mountain bourbon and 5year old bottled in bond rye! Good stuff!
I know you're a huge vanilla bomb fan, but on my end, I'm a huge cinnamon bomb fan so don't be dissin' those Amburana barrels lol. One of my favorites of the last year was RD One Amburana finished bourbon. Absolutely delicious cinnamon bomb! Anyway, keep up the great videos @Brewzle! So happy that I found this channel!
Whoooooooooa! A bob does sports/brewzle collab would be amazing! Fat Perez would fit into this channel perfectly!!!
I am new to your channel and loving it so far! I was curious if you've ever tried an Irish whiskey called "The Knot"? I'm eager to find other whiskey or bourbon similar to this, but I have no idea what to try. Let me know if ya could please? If you haven't had the chance to try The Knot, give it a shot! Pun intended...
I used to live 5 minutes from Jeptha Creed, and we were all excited for the Bloody Butcher Corn bourbon. Its a beautiful campus, but the bourbon was a let down for me.
Made a trip to Knoxville last summer and was able to snag an Eagle Rare Single Barrel Select from Merchant Wine and Spirits. Great stuff!
The Hirsch single barrel is basically willet purple top and is fantastic! A bourbon bargain at roughly 125. Worth a purchase.
One of my favorite buys of 2023. Snagged for 90 or 100 at Big Red Cask. Great bottle was very impressed.
Yes to the golf video. Especially if it's drinking too much bourbon on a golf course.
You guys and John Daly, hitting the links and drinking some bourbon, would be something!
Souther Tier Brewing/Distilling is from Western NY! They’ve expanded to cities across the whole eastern seaboard at this point, but a lot of their stuff is really great and worth the buy when you can find it. Slightly biased as I’m a WNY native but that’s just my two cents!
The TenFidy is a classic BBA Stout. Great flavor at 10.5%. It is what got me in to Barrel Aged beers over 10 years ago.
I vote yes on the golf video! Can’t beat a day on the course and good bourbon!🥃
City Farms is one of my favorite stores! I love that it's locally owned, but has a better selection than a certain national chain. The owners and employees are so nice and knowledgeable.
Cedar Bluff is doing it the right way. I would say... if they manage to save back 350 bottles and distribute all of those two just the top 50 customers... maybe they need to split the system up a bit. I love when stores reward loyalty and I do prefer they reward loyalty for like product type. With 350 bottles could do a similar system to my favorite store. This store does quarterly raffles for the top 25-50 whiskey spenders. They also do a small monthly raffle for ALL customers that is free to enter. Last month was a Weller FP and this month is a Stagg Jr. In addition to those two events they also do a quarterly free raffle where everyone who shows up gets a ticket. If your ticket is called you get a chance to buy a random allocated bottle. That system is checking so many boxes - removes the need to camp out on raffle day, lets ALL customers get involved, and it rewards the loyal customers. This quarter there is a Pappy in the public drawing and no pappy in the loyalty raffle, but otherwise the public drawing is more mostly stuff like Weller SR, Blantons, and Eagle Rare. The loyalty raffle is mostly stuff like JD10, Old Fitz, Blanton's Gold, and the likes.
The reason I prefer loyalty raffles to be category specific is because it's too common for the wine drinkers to end up with all the allocations because they buy $100-200 of wine a week. Wine is a high margin product for liquor stores and why should someone not helping increase the allocations of the store be rewarded with allocations? Makes no sense.
Southern Tier sugar cookie is all over northeast Ohio in the fall and winter. I visited the brewery near Chautauqua Lake in NY. They also make Pumking that is really good.
I would love the Bob Does Sports collaboration. That would be hilarious!
Southern Tier sugar cookie is seasonal. In MD I still have a decent bit
Hey man if you were ever in kentucky again go to cattlesburg Kentucky. They have.
A hidden gem liquor store called AM-PM spirits. They always have crazy bottles. They have an eagle rare very rare bottle. And tons of good selections of bourbons and like I said crazy bottles too worth a look for sure every time i go in there i think of you.
Ten Fidy is one of my favorite Imperial Stout...it is top drawer
Hey man i think when you go burbon hunting you should do a live video sometimes that would be awesome and it would be like we were with you and you can see comment's live as well.
TJ... you need to come back to Idaho, the city you must visit is Coeur d'Alene, ID. I work at a fancy whiskey bar called The Bees Knees Whiskey, our selection is the largest whiskey selection in the state!
Coeur d’Alene been in the news this week for all the wrong reasons… lol
I live in Spokane and I'm just finding out about this lol
@@cwadlow every state has bad eggs my guy. None of that shit is allowed at my bar!
@@benjy468 come on in bro!
i've found the southern tier sugar cookie in franklin PA before. i've only ever seen it around christmas time. very good.
Awesome liquor store. Super friendly.
That southern tier I believe is only a seasonal release at least here in Florida. We receive them usually at the beginning of November. I agree with you though it’s a damn good beer!
