I used a dremel saw max and a wood chisel to cut that tread nose off…. Worked great!

Great video! When putting new treads on top of the old treads, is the first, bottom step higher than the other steps?

Wow bro thats crazy, thats alot of work to go through for 1 step. Mine were factory steps. I cut back like 3/4 of an inch. The riser board they gave me were 7 1/4" and my steps were 8" high. Because the stair nose they gave me was not that big. Got all material from Lumber liquidators "core lux flooring". My first time doing flooring sl learing alot, thank you for all the different scenario's. I used the card board trick like you said on transistion's, they were telling me they just glue down all there transistion's they dont use the bracket, but I wanted to use the bracket incase I have to pull the floor up for repair.

What i'm finding on the home depot webside looks to be about $50ish for the tread and another $15 for the riser. is that roughly accurate? I really want to make our stairs look better, but that's a lot more expensive than I thought it would be

Can you use the treads on the top step instead of the cap to make all steps consistent?

I have raining on the first 5 stairs which are wider than the rest of the stairs. Metal railing goes directly in the step. What can I do?

Does anyone other than me notice how stupid we are for holding on to our English fractional system of measurement? The metric system is so much easier and is more precise as well.
