Innova: Reliability, Proven & tested in the Ph street but lack of premium feel & technology features for each price range...( more expensive than Okavango)
Geely Oka: Cheaper than Innova but Loaded with a lot of high tech. features & interior premium designs + Sunroof& turbocharge.. Geely is Not yet proven to be reliable for a long period of time in PH ( but Geely offers a long term warranty& maintenance period ) compared to japanese company cars. However Geely is built w/ 90% of Volvo tech( known of high tech& durability + safety )..But i think on my opinion,Geely brand can keep up against Japanese brand for long period of time...aside from that Geely is one of the cheapest & yet loaded w/ premium designs...At the end of the day.. its a costomers decision or choice making...peace..✌️

Kudos Team Philkotse specially kay Stanley and Martin for a superb comparison, We just saw your video last April 2 just when we were about to close the deal with Innova E, a battle that were only played by what brand we have been used to (toyota & mitsu), because of your review we realize na may options naman palang iba, without that feeling na na overprice ka or tinipid ka , the following day April 3 we went to nearby geely branch and we were able to test drive the okavango urban and we were blown away! Kung nde mo makikita/susubukan nde mo malalaman eh, processing na kme ng docs today, hopefully anytime within this week makuha na nmen si OKa✨thank you again and more power💪🏼

Personal experience Okavango, City driving 9.7km/l, sa Highway 17km/l
Di na mention yung rain sensor, at hindi na specify yung remote functions like window down, remote start, remote tailgate
Key battery notif, driving rest notif.
    Bose speakers, rear fog lights.
Steering is electric, can steer with one finger. Auto adjust if nag iba ka driving mode. Tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustment. interface ng instrument panel changes depends on driving mode. 6 way electric seat adjust sa driver. 4 way sa front passenger. Sunroof has 3 shade tint. 360 camera is very accurate.
    Innova top: 140kph
    Geely top:184kph
    Innova status: inaalikabok na garahe.
PS. lakas ng aircon, mas mabilis mag palamig kesa nissan.
Edit: I experienced fortuner, montero, mux, everest and Terra. About to buy terra sana. Pero last minute deal breaker tlga okavango.

Not particular if it's a front wheel with a lite hybrid engine. Then the okavango is certainly for you. But if your looking for a tested badge with a diesel engine and rear wheel drive. On my part, I’ve driven different cars already here and abroad. Some vehicles will draw you with their tech features, there are so many out there. in the end, you’ll want to own a car that won’t suddenly give up on you when you need it. And that’s Toyota, even in the most extreme conditions. There’s a price to reliability, that’s why features are modest.

    • @dion4670
      @dion4670 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Toyota's extra reliability is only really good if you're constantly driving on uneven terrains, go somewhere remote or you're using it as an everyday "service" car as its gonna take a crap ton of misfortunes to even stop the car from starting and is always available. However, if you're only planning to use the car 2-3 times a week on short trips, usually stuck on traffic, or long drives for like twice a year, toyota cars are not bad but is mediocre in providing comfort to its passengers.

  • @skyelast2251
    @skyelast2251 2 ปีที่แล้ว +116

I've driven both. For comfort, Okavango. Tons, as in TONS of features you won't get in Innova. It's like driving a high-end car such as the Lynk & Co. I just hope that the Okavango will last long since Geely has 5 global design centers in Shanghai, Gothenburg, Barcelona, California and Coventry.

Geely is high tech and all-- sinasabi nating "TOYOTA" reliability stuff pero I think it is just because of these things
    1. Innova is locally built which means parts are always and are readily available in case magkaron man ng slight problem/defect. In addition to that, mas mura ang maintenance dahil hindi mo na need mag import ng products from other countries in which we know na papatungan ng "tax". Isa pa, due to the feedbak loop of the said statement, mas tumataas ang availability ng parts for these cars and you guess it, the price will be lower.
    2. We know that innova has mostly outdated tech (except for AA and Carplay which is a nice addition) but look at it's LCD, heck I think it still uses TN panels and has poor sunlight visiblity. Compared sa features ng Okavango na may mild-hybrid system pa, auto almost everything(wala lang adaptive cruise pero ok lang kasi wala rin naman si innova nun), the cost of repairs for these bad boys are going to be cheaper kasi mas simple ang parts na inilagay sa Innova. Simpler parts + Abundance + Locality = Cheaper maintenance cost. I'm not saying okavangs will break down after 5 years but once one of these systems break down, you will either spend a lot more to fix these high-tech systems and they are all proprietary so hindi mo sya basta-basta pwede ipagawa kay mamang mekaniko unlike sa Innova, almost everywhere mapapagawa mo yan. Just imagine, inverter aircon nga halos walang gumagawa, pano pa kaya ang super complicated systems ng kotse.
Pros and cons of buying a high-tech car. Always have your insurance ready just in case. :)

This...tama ang okavango is the better choice pero, PERO you have to factor in the probability na mas mahal sya ipagawa at mas matagal ka maghihintay. My advice is kung may back up car ka go for okavango pero if its your one and only car go for innova.

I'm not even sure why this review even highlighted these gizmos you mentioned.
Come to think of it this review was poorly made because it never even made a good comparison of the 2 vehicles.
There was no 0-60 mph acceleration test
There was no 60-0 mph braking test
There was no cornering test, no pylon slalom/zigzag test - nothing.
So yeah I came to realize that this review really sucks.

I'm planning to buy my 2nd car soon, I'm leaning towards Okavango. My deciding factor would definitely do a test drive of the said car to really try if it fits my driving habits (I gas a lot). Lastly I would love to know it's performance if it would go to baguio on full capacity, thats my last deciding factor. Nevertheless everything looks good on the Okavango. Lets wait and see how things would go.

Sa reliability wala pa din tatalo sa toyota, I’m nit saying na hindi reliable Geely but if you compare the two toyota is the superior one in terms of reliability. And sa maintenance goods pa din toyota kasi madaming 3rd party parts and dahil mild hybrid yung Okavango may dagdag maintenance lalo na if need na palitan battery pack nya. The former, we can't say yet. Though many critiques commend their overall quality.
The later is clear. Their sales are good and Geely community is huge. Meaning, a lot are waiting for second hands.

Long term Innova, short term Okavango. Obserbahan natin pag nag 50k both cars sa milaege na tingnan natin if alin ang less sira.

Innova: tried and tested, frugal diesel engine yet powerful when needed, operating costs are lower (cheaper fuel, better mileage, and cheaper maintenance since diesel), so-so comfort
Okavango: new brand but seems very promising, more horsepower but lesser torque, way better tech and features, more expensive operating costs (I assume 95 RON fuel is required since turbo-gas, mileage is not higher than innova, maintenance is a bit more expensive but not by much), much more comfortable, more practical because of better interior design.
If you’re keeping the car for decades, the Innova is a sure choice. If you can afford to test the waters with the Okavango, go for it too. Innova is a more neutral choice since you know it’ll be good with everything, but the Okavango demands a bit more courage from the buyer. If you have the courage, it’ll for sure reward you with very upscale features not typically found on cars on its price point.

On your statement po that diesel maintenance is cheaper, diesel engine parts are generally more expensive than gasoline engine parts.
      Typical sparkplug = ~200
      Typical glowplug = ~4,000

@@user-pp5xg2vl4l Sparkplugs and glowplugs don't do the same thing though, and neither does the glowplug need replacing as often as the sparkplugs do too at least in the Philippines where the glowplug rarely operates.

      @@jonesthewheelman9726 Yes you are right.
But glowplugs are not the only parts of a diesel engine.
You have the injection pump, which is also more expensive than an average EFI.
The engine's internal components are subjected to more stresses as well since diesel engines operate at a much higher compression ratio. This means much earlier breakdowns & need for engine overhauls compared to gasoline engine - assuming the vehicle is well maintained.

We should really start thinking of Geely as a "International" brand not just a Chinese brand.

Innova is more fuel economical and consumes the cheaper diesel than the petrol for okavango..

Geely may be new here in the Philippines but they have been in the automotive industry for almost 25 years. Geely is a Chinese company that also owns Volvo and Lotus .. so I guess we can set aside our worries when it comes to reliabilty..

I disagree..ford owned volvo before it sold it to geely..and you know what they say about ford in the past? Fix Or Repair Daily. Owning another car manufacturer doesnt increase its quality. It only borrows technology.
