No one should spend a dime on Kyrie.
This is my two cents, who says KD and Irving aren't friends? Did KD say that? Did Kyrie say that? No, the media says that. So I'm not going to assume that's true. Furthermore if the Sun's, who KD plays for, is taking a meeting with Kyrie there's a pretty good chance they're still friends.
Now if we assume they're actually friends, well couldn't KD get the Sun's to take a meeting if nothing else than to improve Kyrie's stock and contract price with other teams that are interested in signing him? Plus doesn't getting the Mavericks to pay Kyrie more than they otherwise would have too benefit the Sun's? So they don't have to be interested in Kyrie so much as KD is doing Kyrie a solid so he can get paid.

KD already made this mistake before. When him and Kyrie first went to Brooklyn, they never should have done the Harden trade for Jarrett Allen, Caris Levert and Dinwiddie. This would be one of the dumbest trades in NBA history. They have 2 guys who have averaged over 30 ppg multiple times and another who averaged 28 this year and dropped a 70 bomb a few years ago. Adding Kyrie is pure redundancy. And as soft as Ayton is, they need his size.

Turner and Hield are perfect fits for Luka, Indiana wanted Ayton last offseason and Phoenix wants to separate from Ayton. It seems like a good deal all around that all parties would want.

PHX would have: Beal, Booker, Hield, KD, Turner as their starting 5, that's an insanely lethal offense there. Arguably better than adding Kyrie since Hield and Turner are complimentary players that fit well.
What makes you think Indiana would want Ayton now? Myles Turner is literally better than him on his own, the stats are nearly identical with Turner having 2 more blocks. Throw in one of the best 3 point shooters in the league and the pacers are getting absolutely fleeced in this trade

I don't think the Suns could make that trade until after July 15th.Since Aytin signed a qualifying offer with the Pacers last offseason, Phoenix can't trade him to Indiana for an entire year.

If this deal is actually on the table, the Suns would be better off trading Ayton directly to the Pacers for Hield and Turner.
Problem for Kyrie & Phoenix is that (outside of a vet min) they can’t sign him outside of a sign & trade with Dallas. Even if they dumped Ayton’s contract for nothing, they’re still over the cap. Dallas can pick what they wanna do. They can pay him more than Phoenix by far. Or they can turn down every S&T unless they get exactly what they want. Houston is his leverage not Phoenix.

The NBA projects the image of "trying to get away from" this, but that's not factual otherwise they would just put a stop to luxury tax or any other number of things they could do that wouldnt affect the overall salary cap of the teams. The Nba loves this. Could you imagine the ratings next season and the type of storyline that would be for an entire season. if theres one thing people love its to watch people they dont like fail.
