@@atichatsai01 you need to see the part of conversation right before he says it. Shepard admits that they want to win this war with their honour in tact, which for Javik is pointless because a dead race that died with honour is still a dead race at the end. Preservation of race should be done no matter the cost and no matter the morality if it's necessary.
@@atichatsai01 In short it means that the result justifies the means. To follow Javik on this you have to understand who Javik is. His people had aspects they were sort of raised into. A profession if you will but much deeper than that. An aspect is a personality. Javik was an aspect of revenge. When you are at the point where you think of revenge you already have suffered and experienced the feeling of great loss. He was born when his Homeworld and many of the Prothean Systems already lay in ruins. I assume this was also the first time aspects of revenge were even created. Because the Protheans never had suffered great loss before. Javik saw his entire people die and now knows that he is the last. They way Javik puts it to meaning is that we know ghosts cannot answer back. Also we know a trillion is a lot more than our species has members now. In fact 142 times as much. And even though we can't quite picture what this means exactly we totally get his point. And silence is the answer; meaning his species is dead and noone can even have an opinion on this anymore. Even if they had thought highly of honor in life they sure wouldn't do now. In the confusion of life one can easily lose track of the greater picture. And while honor seems to be a desirable trait to have it also means you have limited options. And if those options that you forbid yourself to take would mean the difference between ultimate defeat or ultimate victory then honor itself has lost its value for you. In the case of the war against the Reapers this is even more profound, as they are a machine intelligence. They sure know the concept of honor but they see no logical value in it so they wont ever go by honorable actions. If you want to win a war against such an opponent, you better don't limit yourself by honorable behavior. And the actual quote goes: "Stand in the ashes [...]." ;) Just saying.

On the LE, I caught all the story, every nook n cranny explored along with the new graphics...best gaming experience in decades.
My best friend just finished a blind no spoiler playthrough of the Trilogy two days ago. The feels even when spectating throughout the run and for him in the driver's seat. Old school Bioware, games that make your companions and squadmates feel like real people and friends. In my opinion Kotor, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect most of all are the closest thing that can simulate what it's like to develop the "band of brothers" effect of bonds formed in combat, shoulder to shoulder with the soldiers beside you. So many moments that had me broken, so many that had me inspired, so many made me fall in love with the Normandy crew.

Damn....I need to play the games again... It's been years since I played Mass effect and I still remember everything. From Saren and Sovereign to Cerberus and the Collectors And Finally The Reapers Coming to Destroy The ones who threaten their Survival... And throughout it all I was with my Squad and Friends who some have been with me from the start... I will always have a place for the mass effect Trilogy as one of my favorite games...
The soundtrack version has such a jarring ending. I was looking for a softer ending with just piano. As this was nearing the end I was waiting to hear what you did. It hit me like a brick wall. Emotion cranked to 11. This isnt what I had in mind but is exactly what I was looking for.
It was the best ride. Probably the last one. I’m a 35 years old man and I’m crying like a baby. Hoping the next mass effect will be able to touch my heart as well as the original story.
I just finished my trilogy playthrough yesterday. Somehow your videos are always on time with what is currently happening in in my life to the point that it's scary. Anyways great cover you're my favorite piano channel on yt and an inspiration to me ❤
Congrats on finding a way to play it though. I need to donitnwith all the DLC or it just doesn't feel right and so much of it is buggy now. Ugh drives me insane
By itself it's such a beautiful composition. Add to that the context behind it, the sacrifice, Jokers intense concentration and it hits hard, so damned hard!
Mass effect 3 was the best campaign game I have ever played! Saving the entire galaxy by the little choices you make and you get to watch it all unfold in front of your eyes! Breath-taking
Vigil gets you curious and inspired, Suicide Mission gets you pumped and excited, Leaving Earth gets you angry and terrified, and this leaves you saddened with a sense of hope. Just like a good book, the OST of Mass Effect bring you through the whole story. Can't wait for May, the Remaster will be glorious, and maybe it will also leave me hopeful for Mass Effect 4.
Years later, this song is still one of my all time favorites from the Saga. harrowing, sad, yet hopeful. It really tugs at your heartstrings and evokes those wonderful and devastating moments from the entire trilogy. It is made even more memorable, because you know the story that's been almost a decade in the making and playing is coming to an end. You don't want the adventure, the story and the universe to end and yet it must and this is one of the absolute best swan songs for any series ever.
I love that this piece is so moving that you can't help but lean into the piano. This soundtrack has no right being as emotionally compelling as it is.
Those last keystrokes, as though you were staring into the night sky of a battered earth and you could see the stars twinkling back at you. Goddamnit, I’m gonna replay the whole trilogy again now and my emotions are already clamoring for mercy
My stepfather died about 20 days ago, and he was better than my father ever was to me. Lived with him 15 years. As a fan of mass effect, this song reminds me of him, helped everyone he could, but, in the end, no one could save him. Love you my father
It was 2011 or 2012 when I got into Mass Effect. Man, this specific soundtrack still gives me tears, it has been stuck in my mind to this day. Man, this feels so nostalgic !
No matter what it is I’ll never stop loving this sound track for Mass Effect it feels like it’s filling in a missing part of my very soul when ever I listen to this it makes me wish that we lived in a future very similar to Mass Effect 1-2-3
I played all the games through, several times, then as the years passed my daughter did too. Then I listened to this song on the piano a hundred times when she learned it for her music GCSE. I would happily listen to it a thousand times, but she has left to go to university now.
When I hear this song I remember the scene where my friends look at me in the end of the game. It is the most powerful moment in the entire game. I understand that I see them for the last time and I have to say good bye because the story ends. In spite of the ending Mass Effect Trilogy is one of the best games. I will never forget Normandy's crew and their brave commander Shepard.
This is AMAZING! It motivates me at 33 to learn piano. I started picking bass back up and I'm learning to read music. I regret never trying as a teenager. Now I'm changing that! Piano has always soothed my soul and my anxiety and issues with it. Good job!
Oh the memories I remember beating this for the first time, thinking Shepard was gonna die and just shooting the tube... then despite completing 100% of the game, I didnt get the good ending because I didnt play multiplayer so I didnt have enough war assets. Not that it mattered at the time considering it was a choice between colors. This song played while I dealt with all 5 stages of grief "I promise"
its actually possible to get the good ending even without multiplayer............. i did it in my first run and i played thru the entire trilogy blind (except for the suicide mission as i had an idea of what to expect there if i messed up)
This version is so much better than other piano covers... and also, why'd you have to bring back all the feels I had when playing this trilogy.... So good, so sad, so sublime. Why don't they make game like this anymore? :(
Dude... there’s an idea. I have no intention of leaving this earth anytime soon, but maybe I should plan ahead... wouldn’t mind this piece being played on my last journey. This, or Demon Hunter’s "Carry Me Down".
This tune always gets me, even after all this time. I went to a sea life centre on a busy day about five years ago and walked through this underwater tube. There was a jellyfish continuously bumping into the glass over and over, I couldn't help myself and burst out with "You biiig stupid jellyfish!" And I swear, several people nearby started saying the "Sheperd!, Grunt, Sheperd, Wrex, Sheperrrd" before we all started laughing. Iconic game, brilliant story, and epic music. Unfortunately, all the good tallent left, and then we got Andromeda, I still can't remember the names of any of the Andromeda characters.
This actually made me cry, holy shit. I mean, the song by itself is already beautiful, seeing it's title and remembering all the sacrifices I made throughout the game, the friends I lost, even my own sacrifice so there could be peace (synthesis)... It's just too much, y'know? A true masterpiece.

- From Admiral Anderson
To Commander Shepard -
ME3 is my favorite in the series. The music is hauntingly beautiful and the chance to meet up with all the past squad mates is amazing.
Who’s ready to cry again but in 4K next year?
I just gotta wait a week for it to download. Can't wait to hurt my feelies again.
It was my first time and I did indeed cry
Currently crying in 4K
I was not ready. I cried the first run but playing the Legendary Edition, it hit me harder these go arounds. First couple of times on the original trilogy I missed a lot evidently. On the LE, I caught all the story, every nook n cranny explored along with the new graphics...best gaming experience in decades.
You just had to put "Joker, it's time to go" at the start...that moment literally breaks me everytime, even after playing the game so many times
Same.
"Joker, it is time to go." I wonder if joker stood in for everyone in the team that did not want the series to end?
If you want a similar experience from modern games, I recommend metro exodus
Thank you for letting me listen to this while I’m waiting to take my 18 year old cat to the vet for the last time. The music matches well with how I feel as I’m petting the cat that I’ve known and loved since I was 4 for the last time ever.
Sleepy: January, 2002 - October 19, 2020.
He was white from his nose to his belly and feet and black from his eyes to his back and tail. He had a black spot on his nose and a white spot in the middle of his back.
Сочувствую тебе и понимаю. У меня было также
To Sleepy! : Rest forever, in peace.
its been 2 years but i'm sorry to hear dude 2020 i had to put down my golden of 15 years i loved him with all my heart
I'm terribly sorry for your loss. May we both continue to live loving lives and help those in need.
(Stole this from a comment i once saw)
Bartender: "what will be your poison"
Shepard: "nothing right now, just waiting for a friend, some one has to remind him to duck every now and again"
Bartender: "I see, want to hear a joke to pass the time"
Shepard: "Sure"
Bartender: "So a Salarian, a Drell, and a Geth walk into a bar, what do they have in commen"
Shepard: "i don't know"
Bartender: "A Commander who can't dance to save her life, they're just other by that corner booth, they've been waiting for you"
Shepard: "Thanks, we have a lot of catching up to do"
Bartender: "No problem, anything else"
Shepard: "I should go"
Thank you for sharing this one, after being close to and in tears listening to this song time and again i found the comment i can read that makes them happy tears.
Took me a while to get the inner meaning in that one, why it's a salarian, a drell and a geth. Wow what a punch in the feels!
@@matd675 took me a minute too then i realized it was mordin thane and legion.......... ironically enough they were 3 of my favorite crewmates in the trilogy, add wrex and garrus and there's my top 5 (sorry kasumi it was too close D:)
Well, it wouldn't mean anything if the required deaths were unpopular squadmates.
Seeing this comment actually made me tear up
"We'll get through this, we always do"
-Garrus Vekarian
“I don’t know if turrian heaven is the same as humans but if we both end up there meet me at the bar. I’m buying”
"Joker, it's time to go"
Me: Just hurt me right out of the gate why don't you. I knew this was going to hurt and yet here I am feeling more hurt
Guy apologizing for his head poppin' in a few times when all I can see is every choice I made and what it left me at the end of this tale.
a fitting end, to one of the universe's greatest heros.
yea i doubt that's the case after yesterday's the game awards cuz they revealed a new mass effect game and at the end of the reveal was liara smiling holding a fragmenht of N7 armor that very likely could have belonged to shepard as there's no one else it really coulda been as the only N7 ops on the crew in 3 were shep and james vega tho james was only a candidate for the N7 program but could be convinced to go thru with it
Might be related to Alex Ryder. (I haven't seen the trailer)
I can't believe how much i'm crying, when i played it already like 4 times, but right now it feels so overwhelming definitely my favorite saga, game, story and family
I'm right there with you.
Got you beat with over 500hrs.
Awww man, why you gotta do me like that? Right in the feels.
Yo dude same i was FEELING it. No game not even halo hit me thr same way
I’m Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite music video on the Extranet
Tali: "I have a home"
Uuggghhhh heart breaking
Finished the trilogy again, and then found this video. The song is beautiful and you play it perfectly, it moves me to tears. I noticed your head popping in showing you love it just as much. Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤
Mass Effect Trilogy remastered supposedly out this fall boys
Neeeeeed I need some mass effect (that’s not andromeda we don’t talk about andromeda
Where tf you hear that now I’m excited af?!?!?!?!
@@jidgy8547 There have been rumors on several pages and from "insiders". Chances aren't that bad
I hope for the switch as well
cant wait, replaying me3 rn
Glad you picked the correct color
Damn....I need to play the games again...
It's been years since I played Mass effect and I still remember everything.
From Saren and Sovereign to Cerberus and the Collectors
And Finally The Reapers Coming to Destroy The ones who threaten their Survival...
'You starts killing your friends, you turn war into a murder.'
I just finished my trilogy playthrough yesterday. Somehow your videos are always on time with what is currently happening in in my life to the point that it's scary. Anyways great cover you're my favorite piano channel on yt and an inspiration to me ❤
I was the same when he uploaded his last Mass Effect video 😅 came out just as I finished the trilogy for the first time
Congrats on finding a way to play it though. I need to donitnwith all the DLC or it just doesn't feel right and so much of it is buggy now.
Ugh drives me insane
By itself it's such a beautiful composition. Add to that the context behind it, the sacrifice, Jokers intense concentration and it hits hard, so damned hard!
знали бы вы какие у меня сильные муражки и слёзы бегут от этого трека😭❤️🔥
Mass effect 3 was the best campaign game I have ever played! Saving the entire galaxy by the little choices you make and you get to watch it all unfold in front of your eyes! Breath-taking
Reminds me why I still go back and replay the trilogy. So much emotion invested over the years. Despite an RGB ending, it's worth it for the journey.
The little insert of the 4-note high theme at 1:25 was like a shot in the heart. Tears, completely moved.
They really knocked it out the park with the extended cut. There wasn't enough of the Mass Effect theme song in ME3.
He chose the red ending. Good choice!
This piece moved everyone, never apologize for that.
I've had your ME medley on repeat since it came out. This was also wonderful!
God damn that got a few tears in my eye. Mass Effect is a true masterpiece, thank you for this cover.
This piece is so powerful. It gives me shivers every single time. Thank you for this! Shepard out.
I cant get enough of this. Listen to it daily.
It was 2011 or 2012 when I got into Mass Effect. Man, this specific soundtrack still gives me tears, it has been stuck in my mind to this day. Man, this feels so nostalgic !
This song gives me flash backs.
Like when you heard a shot ring out on Eden Prime inferring that Saren just shot Nihlus. The beginning of the end.
"You did good kid, you did good." -Admiral Anderson
Please do “I was lost without you” my god that would be amazing!
Good job!
"I won't say its been easy, but we had a good run"
"The best"
Cried the whole time, thank you! ❤️beautiful.
Oh the memories
I remember beating this for the first time, thinking Shepard was gonna die and just shooting the tube... then despite completing 100% of the game, I didnt get the good ending because I didnt play multiplayer so I didnt have enough war assets.
Not that it mattered at the time considering it was a choice between colors.
This song played while I dealt with all 5 stages of grief
"I promise"
its actually possible to get the good ending even without multiplayer............. i did it in my first run and i played thru the entire trilogy blind (except for the suicide mission as i had an idea of what to expect there if i messed up)
I like the way this ended better that the original and the EC version.
This version is so much better than other piano covers... and also, why'd you have to bring back all the feels I had when playing this trilogy.... So good, so sad, so sublime. Why don't they make game like this anymore? :(
definetely the song i wanna hear when my end comes too
Dude... there’s an idea. I have no intention of leaving this earth anytime soon, but maybe I should plan ahead... wouldn’t mind this piece being played on my last journey. This, or Demon Hunter’s "Carry Me Down".
God.... This song and Leaving Earth together for me are the best songs of the Mass Effect franchise.
Can we all agree that the mass effect trilogy has some of the greatest sound tracks ever composed
I was already crying before the first note was played. Very well done!
That was truly amazing, thank you Atin!
This song is so beautiful. Gets my tears every time.
"Is this the kind of person we want playing the piano?"
"This is the ONLY person who CAN play the piano."
"I'll make the call."
You did good kid, you did real good with this comment.
Masterfully done.
Искренне, от всего своего сердца благодарю вас за данную мелодию. Спасибо. Лайк поставил. 😊😊👍👍👏👏
I'm not crying. You're crying.
Best romances (IMO) final goodbye.

I always will
Garrus : shepard, I... Love you too.
This hit me right in the honey nut feelios just like it did the first time I heard it 8 years ago. How dare you.
How dare he not, a gorgeous classic as good today as it was when it first came out. Some things never change and are perfect for it.
Honey nut feelios lol I'm totally using that one.
Permission to use "Honey-Nut Feelios" whenever I'm sad?
I just sat and watched. Stunned by the beauty of it and completely forgot what I was doing for a moment. What a treat, thank you very much.
No matter how far we advance, we will remember the sacrifices of those who made it possible, and we will remember Shepherd.. Because of him.. I am alive, and I am not alone. -EDI
OH MY GOD.... this is absolutely the best version i've ever heard.
The hairs on my arm is standing up, and if the had hands, every single hair strain would applaud you. There's something so beautiful and at the same time so sad about this piano play. Well done buddy.
Mass effect was great fun to play.
Absolutely beautiful and very precious to me.
Years have passed and i'm still devastated
I’d run to my death to this song. Without so much as a second thought, as long as it was so others may live.
I love the song so much!! Mass Effect has literally changed my life.
Hope there will be more ME pieces popping up :)
First time i played it was Legendary edition and i got to say i took my time with all 3 games and dayum the emotions when the journey ended
Same finished yesterday and the ending hurt so bad but because the journey was over and he didn't live to see the results
The soundtrack to mass effect 12 and 3 is just absolutely timeless and still masterpiece to this day. Thank you for capturing the music that was just it's just emotion envoking on a different level.
Absolutely amazing rendition! This is my favorite song on the Citadel!!!
Haha, I was just gonna post almost the exact same thing.
Literally..moments after your fingers played the first keys I was moved to tears until the end..beautiful.
