I think Constantinople also gives them a great trade node, without that they don't have a viable semi end node, which severely hurts their trade income.
If you either gurantee Byzatium or no cb vasalise/annex them with Strong nation Mamluks, Austria, France... You will pacify Ottoblob for as long as you need

The Byzantines did well because of their mission tree, and the Ottomans did so badly because a lot of their good dev/ expansion comes from the European provinces and their mission tree basically revolves around getting Constantinople.

Without Constantinople the Ottomans cannot become an Empire so all those Western Asian provinces become unaccepted. They also lose out on the free culture/religion/core on one of the highest development provinces in the game, Constantinople itself.
The reason Malaya was had so much dev at the start was because you gave it all of its colonizable provinces in the culture group, so they would have a lot more land from their culture group than they would have normally
Please roll back to 1.30.6, the vassal thing makes these "what if" videos less fun to watch. Not to mention the fact that its most likely more difficult for you to make these videos because of all the obnoxious bugs in 1.31
i feel like if you do something like this again, you should give the A.I. a bit of governing capacity so they dont just keep popping vassals and can actually expand in the early game
I'd be curious to see what would happen if the nationalism CB was active in 1444. Usually its only unlocked about the 1600s but it be interesting to see would it make a difference

The thing is you’ll get stuff like Finland or Hungary which are in real life vastly different from neighboring cultures due to centuries of migration and assimilation and whatever else but the culture group mechanic on this game does make gameplay more fun which I can understand
Yeah they tried that in Balkans IRL, but for some some reason the Southern Slavs just can't get along. Those Slavs still get touchy when just want to talk about it.
I think the Ottomans were indeed in a crazy crazy good position early on, but sadly the Ottoman AI loves to declare super stupid wars far away for terrible CB's (like joining a trade war in south africa and marching their men through the desert or declaring on a 3 province nation which is allied to Russia, Poland and Austria-Hungary) I think thats also what happened to them because honestly they looked very very scary at first

We can see a lot of misconceptions, Just in Europe: Slovak is in Hungarian and not West Slavic Finnish, Sami, Estonian, Karelian and Uralic should be in one big Uralic culture Welsh and Cornish should be in Celtic culture Turkish and Azeri should be in something else than Arabic and Caucasian like European or Asiatic turkish (it would make Ottoman harder to play with) And there’s some I won’t complain about because it’s just because proximity like: Romanian into Hungarian (they won’t make a separate Romanian and Hungarian, the two of them being alone, same with Gothic) Basque into Iberian Albanian into South slavic (Albanian into Greek would make more sense tho) The whole Caucase region Something that would be better tho is easter prussia which is know divided between prussian and lithuanian. Idk but something cool would be to make the south province polish and the eastern province old prussian (which could be a new baltic culture) who still existed at that time

They know they’re not that realistic. For example the levantine culture group puts Turkish and Arab culture into one to buff the Ottomans.

GGG forgot to add a conditional to make vassal integration only if government capacity allows it.
Imagine the dev in colonies since during all of the colonization era the Europeans had that +3 dev to all colonized provinces from age of discovery
