      @@novesspl5061 When you complete the mission every catholic country in the world gets the option to either convert to orthodox or not. The AI then decides mostly based on relative power to the Romans, how nearby they are to them, and their relations with them. The papacy is also permanently disabled, effectively neutering any remaining Catholic nation as they lose the massive buffs that come with the Papacy. A similar thing can happen with the papal states in one of their final missions, where you can mend the Schism, and all orthodox nations will get the option to convert to catholic or remain orthodox.

    Here's an idea since I feel like the Inca never get anywhere NEAR the amount of love they should have (at least compared to other native americans, like the Aztec "Empire", which was dysfunctional and doomed to fall with or without european intervention anyways): have the Inca start unified and with the High American tech group, let's see if the masters of South America can save the Americas from the european menace if given the chance.

    Wouldn't the culture and religions also have to be different? The Bulgar invasions didn't happen until the 700s, the Arab invasions would have kept Islam in the peninsula, the Sassanid Empire would probably still exist and be Zoroastrian. There would be a lot more Greek culture provinces, especially across Anatolia, the Levant and Egypt, as well as 'Griko' culture provinces in southern Italy. Albanian would probably not exist as its own distinct culture and would likely be Greek as well or Proto-Illyrian.

    • @TheRedHawk
      @TheRedHawk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      Yeah it would be like this, but I don't do this in other videos so I didn't do it now either, maybe I'll start though

      @@Da__goat I doubt the Sassanian Empire would still exist through such a long period, though. If you look at world history, empires last for a half dozen centuries at most

    • @Da__goat
      @Da__goat 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@followthelucario4388 I suppose it really depends on a lot of factors, truly whether or not the administration and leadership can keep up with the times. The Persian empires had always been historical rivals and had heavy influence in the region since the time of Alexander almost 1,000 years before the height of Eastern Rome. It wouldn't be totally unrealistic to have some type of empire in Persia, whether it be the Sassanids or some other dynasty. Similarly for how it would impact the Indian subcontinent and central asia. If there was a large persian empire, they would likely have control over Central asia and there would be several powers in India vying for control. There would certainly be a lot of changes that would be impacted, such as the distinct lack of catholicism existing at all due to total control of the Pentarchy, no creation of Al-Andalus, etc. So there is a lot of potential to really explore.

    • @followthelucario4388
      @followthelucario4388 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@TheRedHawk My favorite is probably the varna alternate history, because it's such a small difference at the start, when you do huge blobs like the religions or the HRE video, it's less like alternate history and more like staring at a petri dish to see which bacteria colony can paint the map the most imo
      Those that are just slightly different from our timeline because of one event going differently, and then seing how the world unfolds are the best (and you could do them in other start dates too if you run out of alternate 1444 scenarios)

    Love your “what if’s” !!
    Idea
    What if, after conquering all the Greek city-republics, Philip II never went East but west.
    Military Macedonian Kingdom with pagan religion and non of that Greek crap.
    I’d watch that 😁👍🏻

    I think Byzantium struggled at the start because they were massively over gov capacity but sorted it out and got bigger and stronger after they teched up. Personally i think you made them too strong & beefy at the start with the peak Justinian borders. This deserves a rerun but have them start with their pre-Manzikert borders with just Anatolia & The balkans, they might have some exclaves in southern Italy still too.

    I have an idea for you! What if three Romes existed in 1444. You make France form the Roman Empire, but after you give the eastern part to Byzantium. Then you make Austria form the HRE. then let them fight to see how is the true Rome!
