recently bought the xz2c,so far loving it the cameras are good and performance is great runs android 9 fast
how long does the battery last?
I also bought it and love it's compact size and still flagship features and v good camera in 2024.
@@ZeeNasir1 i went with a Redmi Note 13 5G, XZ2 is currently available only in Dubai
It can last a day if you don't play heavy games.
I love this phone, this is THE BEST phone for its power, value and form factor, what an unexpected but amazing throwback of this phone you made :)
I've just bought my second xz2 compact. For me the best compact smartphone of all time.
I agree. This is the 3rd time I've bought it. I just keep coming back to this small beast.
@@ohhiyoh5793how much sot do you get
Is still use mine but after 6 and half year or service it starting to lag and then give me the message an app stopped, then i spam klick the close app button wait about a minute and then it stops lagging. This happens to me every 10 to 20 minutes. Do you guys think it the battery or just system getting old. And you guys bought o e so let me know.
And this phone besides tgeylag is still beast
Watching on my new xz2 compact in 2023 😅
its still good?
@@randogs5319 yes it's best compact phone even today.
Mine spent three years in a drawer or close proximity thereof, patiently waiting for XZ1C to end its run. 2's time finally came in December of 2023. Works super fine at this point.
how is the battery back up?
Yeah@@randogs5319
I'm glad I discovered this channel, you cover a lot of affordable items that I really like. Old lg, Sony phones at 20 cents on dollar, usbc hubs with unique functionality, earbuds/audio solutions that tend to get ignored by most (1more neckbamd, aukey key series, bludio 2 in 1, govee lamps. Some of the stuff it's almost impossible to find a reasonable review.
Yea classics 👍
Hope they still build compact fone. Easy to pocket but still flagship.
Using it in 2024... No plans to drop it any time soon. It took 4 years and 2 months for my XZ1C's battery to finally swell.
how long does the battery lasts nowadays ?
@@towsifbillah834 Not too long, sadly. XZ1C and XZ2C both had small batteries and it showed, even despite energy-efficient processors and small screens. A day tops on one charge, if ypu push it.
@@towsifbillah834 So-so. But one day is a given, if you don't push the battery too hard.
why didn't you just change the battery?
@@the_original_dude No need to, besides that could cause problems with water-proofing. That phone still works fine in other, less power-consuming capacity.
This phone is so hard to find here in my country. I'm currently using full size XZ2, to get this compact phone will be great. Small phone with flagship spec, that's awesome.
I own one and it's the best touch phone i've ever owned.
My buddy works in an electronics store and sell phones, he hooked me up with this phone when i was low on cash, it was a display phone touched by 1000 filthy hands, but he wiped it down with alcohol wipes and it has served me well, use it as a router etc and has never let me down.
I just need to replace the screen seal as i was dumb today and cleaned the phone with soap and cold running water. haha..
Классный смарт на мощном железе,до сих пор актуален и работает как часы!
This phone would've been perfect and I'd probably still be using one to this day if it had the headphone jack... Such a shame. Really hope Sony makes a return to the compact line of devices.
I sell all Apples-Samsungs...etc big phones...tired totally. And keep XZ2 Compact now. Happy a lot - really. It is best of the best 🏆
Great revisit of XZ2 Compact! Though I'd argue it's tough to find it at the price you mentioned; currently it starts around 120-130 EUR/USD on most marketplaces
He got a japanese version tho
@@zenganggthat doesn't matter
@@oblivionlord1242 docomo versions are cheaper
It sucks that Sony's newest Xperias no longer have compact versions. I've been considering the iPhone 13 mini versus the Sony Xperia 5 III to upgrade from my aging LG G6.
But the 21:9 does make a difference!
@@SonyEnthusiast Does it really?
@@Kizarat yes, from my experience. Although I have the 1 iii, it's very comfortable to hold due to the 21:9 aspect ratio. Now imagine with the smaller 5 iii. 👍
@@SonyEnthusiast Hmm.. if it offers a one-handed experience that I will consider it.
@@Kizarat yea I'm able to use it with just one hand although my hands aren't small. But I could imagine with the smaller 5 III, most people can handle that. Too bad Best Buy (if you're in the US) stopped showcasing Sony phones in their stores. I used to personally try them out before I buy them
I've had this phone for nearly 5 years. I even got it as used one off ebay. Can still take some really amazing photos in bright conditions. Battery life after 5 years is still astounding, don't see any difference. The problem is the updates stopped in 2020 so it's significantly outdated and on technical side many of the devices screens, including mine, suffer from ghost touches and screen freezing, which is very annoying having to constantly lock and unlock the screen. Apart from that I really enjoyed the phone, took 10k photos with it over the years, traveled with it all over Scotland. I was planning to keep using it for few more years or until it dies, but got caught off guard by a new phone as Christmas gift. I will definitely miss the small size of this phone.
It's still a beast..... with good enough specifications
This phone might be dated, but the battery life is really excellent. The standby time is pretty impressive, and with normal usage, you can squeeze a day or two with the XZ2c.
Not dated man, still a better then notch or hole in the display 😂 i'll think this is an upgrade
Although there's no 3.5mm jack, the USB-C port does however support analog headsets unlike other phone brands without a 3.5mm jack.
Bro does xz2 compact support call recording
Nice! Did you buy it as refurbished? I bought one still new apparently. I'll find out when it arrives
lol, this device was released in 2018, there is no "new" if you buy it in 2022, it has stopped production long ago. don't be stupid.
@@Anonymous72686 No shit Sherlock! And don't jump to conclusions. I meant "never opened" and sold as "new" on eBay like this Sony Smartwatch I bought recently as new 💪 as you can see it's never been opened and used until I did my unboxing: th-cam.com/video/0R8x_Wni4R8/w-d-xo.html
Bro how is the battery life?
Have you noticed any issues with overheating/thermal throttling? I considered buying one on sale a few years ago, but after reading bad reviews about heat issues, I backed out.
I had one and luckily didn't encounter any overheating issues - it does get slightly warm after recording 4K video for more than 10 mins but still comfortable to hold and use (didn't see any thermal throttling in gaming either). But yeah, the earlier gen Sony phones (esp. the Z5 compact did have heating issues...though I suspect that's mainly due to the processor...the 845 here works well enough)
No overheating on mine
It's basically a Pixel2 made by Sony. SnapD 845???! Impressive..
I also am a fan of smaller phones. I miss my Sony.
XZ Compact isn't the only option on the market, there is also Sharp R2 Compact, that is harder to find and it's slightly more expensive. But at the same time it has 5.2" display, it's smaller than Sony's, it has the same processor and memory set, but also it has 3.5" Jack and 120 Hz IGZO display with adaptive refresh ratio.
Lol, that's a ugly looking device
Watching this using xz2 compact. Still great in 2023. Aside from small battery i have no complains. I usually run through the day and charge it 1-2 times
for normal usage calls and 1 to 2 hours of screentime, how long does the battery last?
@@mrarivalee Could last 6-8hrs, I usually watch movies and social media for 4-5hrs straught and charge it at around 15-20%..I dont full charge my phone, only up to 80%. Sony Stamina mode is no joke.
@@relaxingpill7525 great, im getting this mobile brand new for 100$
im tired of 7 inch phones and 5G sucks where i live, 4G for the win
thanks man
@@mrarivaleesame here, where are you from btw
@@harshvraj well, there has been some change of plan, i went with a Redmi Note 13 5G, a 6.67 inch 175g one. I removed all the bloatwares and the battery does last for 20 hours
i am from india btw
The phone’s biggest problem was the Sony firmware. Flashed lineageOS on it and is perfect!
stupid comment.
Is the camera worse now?
@@bradtitt7572 mine is good, however for HDR mode is not really wide like newest smartphones in 2020 above.
unfortunately the japan telco variant mostly have locked bootloader.
How U do that ?
can you do a re visit to this phone please
What about battery life and habtic feedback
How about the battery life on this for non-gaming day-to-day heavy multitasking?
Amazing, I still own mine after 5 years and I easily get a full day from the battery and even 2 days if I forgot to charge it over night!
Getting a free s23 after switching carriers. Going to see if I like it better than my xz2c as my go to phone. I just don't see myself liking the form factor of any other phone
...just got me an zx2 dual...AMAZING ..METRO PCS UNLOCKED GOING TOI HARD IN 2023!!!! SONY IS KING
It's still a beast .....
Does it have navigation gesture
Is it possible to add new Android version like custom ROM?
Unfortunately, no. You can't with the Japanese versions unless you pay for an unlock thing.
Been using this for 6 years. I'm mad they got rid of extreme power saver mode and it keeps getting a hot screen🤣
2024, I use it in pair with s22 ultra. Nice combo
I got a notice from Tmobile that my Xz2 Compact won't work this coming July since they're doing away with 2g/ 3g..why would anyone buy it now. Don't get me wrong, I love my phone and having a hard time deciding what to buy next.
It doesnt suport 4g?
It is a 2018 phone, it supports 4g
It will still work unless they implement a whitelist like AT&T. But you need to make VoLTE work so you can continue to make calls. LineageOS just added support for it.
how is the battery for this device? what SoT would you get for a day for just media browsing?
Android Version?
own xz1 compact and xz2 compact. no alternative nowadays (are there?). xperia 10 IV is not an option (cheap to the touch and that ridiculous screen ratio...).
I just accidentally updated my Xperia 5 ii to android 12 and now I want to give up the phone.(all the layouts and UIs are just unbearable) And now here I am.
Hi bro
How to activate dark mode on Sony phone? Can you help me
Dark Theme is in Accessibility
@@felicitasgranada7309 Does Xzs have this option?
What is your phone exactly? I have xz2 compact and it's on dark mode.
@@felicitasgranada7309 I have xzs and xz1 compact
it's good but too thick! i rather own Abit larger display and thinnier like s10e
Крутой смарт и до сих пор пашет как конь!
Does the Japanese version have the English language?
Yes
Thank you for being honest
S10e?? Zenfone 9???
Both of those are much bigger
i loved it until mine died, and now i'm back to using an xz1 compact
Both good
I technically prefer the xz1c. Ive had some digitizer issues with my xz2c: ghost touch and another issue with it saying sim removed randomly.
Ghost touch issue is annoying and basically you go to press one area and an entirely different area of the phone gets touched, sometime repeatedly and the phantom touch will loop for upwards of 10 seconds and sometimes migrate.
Sim issue was fixed with a piece of paper XD
How did you do it with a paper, please?
@@denverhenricus2255 remove the sim tray, cut a piece of paper to go behind the sim card. I folded it twice beforehand. You need to ensure that the small paper fits entirely in the sim tray. Then lay the sim card back into position and carefully reinsert it into the phone.
Ghost touch issues for this phone were caused by bending and by a popsocket. If you use one of those please use it on a case.
Much obliged.
Android and Sony updates have ruined it.
wowow
$60? I just checked ebay they were all around 200 CAD
he got a second hand carrier locked phone, you can see some scratches on the phone bezels, and a docomo ( japanese carrier ) logo on the back cover. docomo models are cheap as chips
I got mine for $156 (open box) in pristine condition 👍
League of legends pokemon version
Not with that 2870mah, no. God no.
don't make stupid comment. Small device like this and was from 2018, what do you expect?
Why are people still using this phone from the stone age??
Simply because they are relatively cheap to get now. Battery is still at least 80%. That's SD 845.
Just got one for 45 USD with 89% battery, no scratches, no cracks. Just simply beautiful.
Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact is better
In what?
