Cas in low tier is just a scourge for anybody trying to enjoy the game, and spawning AA doesnt help most of the time if there are multiple planes up since you will instantly get swarmed the moment you fire at 1 plane.
That’s cause you don’t know how to play the game. A single ok fighter closes the sky for enemy team, easily. Unfortunately we have a community of brain-dead WoT players who joined WT, yet they don’t wanna learn how to play a new game. They are trying to play “purely” tanks in a game where it does not work like that. It’s like playing only pistols in CS:GO, and whining that those AK/M4/AWP players kill your enjoyment.
Of the few times I've had kills with the Ta-Se specifically it's either been a fluke hit on a pilot or the plane was flying right towards me to strafe or bomb me.
@@a.b.3455 The ZSD63 is one of the main reasons I play China. It is hilariously effective against all planes even jets. I just put a bunch of Backup Vehicle boosts to it and I can effectively close the airspace for the whole match.
1:03 just had a match like this. When I looked at the map first 5 heavy tank and 4 medium were at B point, after 15 secs I looked at the map again and they’re all gone
still efficient enough to win games. Planes are unbalanced as hell. For one, you can be dead and appear dead in the killfeed but still have control and drop bombs at a time of your choosing. You can literally die and you can crash bomb the one who killed you and anybody around him. As SPAA, if you don't play perfectly, you *AT BEST* get a trade
@@doktork3406 no. that's just not true at all. if ur in a spin, u are unable to even drop ur bombs. if ur wing is on fire, it's going to eventually break off and u will be forced into a spin and die. if u lose tail control, u dive in a position where u can't possibly bomb the enemy. if ur pilot is unconscious, u obviously cannot do a single thing. all of these are possibilities. especially with strike aircraft. which in this case, some of them don't even have bombs. I don't get why u guys are mad at airplanes in tank rb. sure it'll make u mad when u die but even then. it's what makes the game more interesting. I've fought biplanes in my me 262. sometimes, its not balanced. most people aren't going to buy an aircraft to keep up to date with their tank br. they'll just use what's most efficient. they'll use something that's weak but carries a hell of a payload. such as Pe-8's.
@@doktork3406 I like to play spaa as a preference. If the aircraft is not either flying towards you or away from you it's highly unlikely to get any hits so don't bother . I find getting parked up hiding somewhere close to either team mates or objectives and waiting for the enemy cas to do either their bombing/strafe run and and catch them on exit Is the only semi reliable method but you don't make them shots count you will be taken out when they come back around
The only exception to this I make is if we are about to take a cap that will stop us losing a game and the plane is inbound to bomb cap it's worth spraying them to try and put them off but it rarely works and it either ends up being a bomb death/trade
One fun bit is taking a tiny tank like the M22 or something and keeping to the shadows. If they're all in the air and there are no ground tanks, then it's really easy to Cap if you get in to the right places.

If there was no air then you would hate it when tanks in op positions dominate the battlefield or when super heavies steamroll everyone, yes it can be annoying but it's there to counter certain things, revenge cas is the issue not the cas itself.

I rarely touch 7.0+ anymore, usually stick to around 4.3-5.3. Its just so much more fun that people dont have all the high tier crutches to help bad players perform better

Master an nimble attacker or fighter with a bomb point. That’s the best AA
Not that it matters for WT, but didn't some WW2 era air forces do a study and they found that planes attacking tanks had like a 6% chance to hit at all in a pass with cannons in a strafing attack and the circle probability error for a bomb drop was like 200m?
Yeah, but they probably didn't often fly as close to the ground, endangering themselves with possible crash-landings, or do nearly as many crazy maneuvers as the players do.

I think that giving a free fighter without any payload from the beginning of the battle would complete fix the planes balance problem. Though it will hurt lightly armoured vehicles.

On top of that self propelled anti air vehicles were never designed to actually shoot down attacking aircraft. The doctrine for their use essential is just put a lot of tracer into the sky and hope that scares off the pilot because humans irl don’t wanna be shot down but in a game where it’s only pixels? Who cares if they get shot down hence the entire purpose of SPAA doesn’t even fit into game
CAS at low and mid tier is cancer… and it doesn’t help that a lot of nations have pretty mediocre AA at these tiers. I wish Gaijin would put limits on aircraft spawns in GRB so that it isn’t just ARB 2.
The most annoying thing in the world is when you absolutely CLAPP a plane with a 40mm and all it says is: “HIT” Like bruh, it’s a fookin 40mm HE shell. Doesn’t matter where it hits, it’s tearing that plane apart.
Since Gaijin is allergic to buffing SPAA or adding any SPAA between 4.0 - 8.0 for most factions, the simplest solution is to limit the BR of planes to 4.0 or lower until 8.0 has been reached and they can go up against SPAA at the same BR.
All they need to do is make a standalone tank warfare section like air rb and call it. ...SPAA might be pretty much worthless at that point though, so this idea was probably a pretty bad one tbh
The airplanes in this game just make it god-awful. Of course, trees with wheels alongside 76 or 152 mm cannons way off in the map don't help either, but at least it's not an airborne target with 2 250lb bombs implanted into your tank. I'd have to agree that AA should get back what it was nerfed on, even if things like the ostwind would be annoying at times.
Imo they need to remove airfield AA in ground RB. Airfields are a complete safe space and are only like 5-7km away from the battle at low and mid tiers
If they limit CAS to at least 2 planes or something like AB Ground, then CAS wouldn't be as annoying. But no, you have half the enemy team in CAS role bombing your spawn
Wish gaijin would just make a separate game mode for ground battles that actually had only ground vehicles, it's the worse part of the game for me, I spend 10 mins trying to get to a point either to cap, get ammo, or replace a crew member and I just instantly get bombed, or I drive 5ft after spawning and instantly get bombed, mean while we have 1AA vehicle shooting at planes and the rest of them are just zooming around the map getting themselves killed
Problem with low tier is that SPAA doesn't help at all, its at most a small deterrent. Unlike high tier where say, a Roland can slap a plane as far as 8km away (Roland 3s) long before they kill you team, at low tier you have to get an enemy plane under 800m to get a good chance at hitting them. Ironically, the best anti-air is a fighter... in the air.

Bombs do a crazy, unrealistic amount of damage in War Thunder. Anything short of a direct hit shouldn't knock out a medium or heavy tank. Air power just wasn't an effective weapon against armor during World War 2, and accounted for only a small percentage of the tanks destroyed during the war. Air forces often reported having killed hundreds of tanks when the true numbers were fewer than a dozen. It wasn't until LGBs, JDAMs, and anti-tank cluster bombs were used that air power could reliable knock out a tank. That didn't happen until the Gulf War in 1991.

Jumbo with 100 pen is not fun at all against Germans with 200 pen on a heavy and med tank, asswell as all the armour you could ever need. No one can convince me that Germany is balanced cos it's not. AND YES I know the cheeks on the panther are weak points and the capola. On the tiger you have the sides and flat angles than can pen into ammo easily, but guess what? They can pen you anywhere ... So while you aiming specifically at 500m into a tiny cheek half hidden in bushes, they just point and click

I said that there are places to shoot and kill/crit them, but Germans dont have to find weak points and can literally shoot tanks anywhere due to the mad pen they have even on the heavies. It's not an issue with dealing with German tanks, it's the issue of long ranged engagements trying to snipe a pixel with 140mm pen while Germans get 200 aphe rounds that one shot anything they touch. Just because you CAN kill a German tank, it doesn't mean it's balanced.
too bad they removed the German La-5 from sale, that thing is an absolute Anti-CAS monster its an aircraft that even at 2/3+ br's higher than what it starts as, it rips things apart
I remember starting out doing well, and then I leveled up just enough to hit the pay to win bracket and the game is busted. Uninstalled and never looked back.
Low tier is the most fun frankly. Top tier is nothing but Ka-50 spam. Below top tier its A-4s and G-91s with ATGMs, along with lower tier ATGM helis. Low tier bombing is at least harder. And all the tanks are far more balanced, much less cancer bullshit tanks or thermals that only some tanks get or stabilisers and laser rangefinders and etc etc etc. Plus aircraft dogfighting in GRB is way more fun than ARB.
Also so many people actually trying to play air rb in ground and just spawncamping the airspawn in bf109's with gunpods doing absolutely nothing to help their team win on the ground

I wish they, would make getting planes harder so that it would reduce the number of the planes, because like 90% of low tier SPAA is useless and it would mean that you actually need to perform in a tank IN GROUND BASED GAMEMODE. Still to this day sometimes i encounter players on any ground RB who just hop in some fast 1.0 BR tank just to capture the point and J-out to get into planes. i wonder why the F they play ground RB in the first place... its so bad that sometimes when the game consist of 2 already taken bases (capturing the base is harder and is winning condition of match) some of them just leave the battle immidiately. There is also a problem when too much people choose to play the plane in winning match, and because of that there is nobody who can capture the points and you lose because of that. Very annoying

The biggest problem on low and mid tier is a lack of good SPAAs. So many countries are stuck with the M42 which sucks against planes.

I played a game where a single PE8 just wiped the entire team and that was that.
I've had a few matches like that, one where it happened twice, thrice if you count the deletion of spawn at the very end.
Low tier RB has less bullshit factor, hence i love tanks like panzer 4 h and t-34s

I love idea of combined arms gameplay. But getting CAS is way too easy right now. Just increase spawn cost and half of the braindeads will dissapear
CAS at low and mid tier is cancer… and it doesn’t help that a lot of nations have pretty mediocre AA at these tiers. I wish Gaijin would put limits on aircraft spawns in GRB so that it isn’t just ARB 2.

Since Gaijin is allergic to buffing SPAA or adding any SPAA between 4.0 - 8.0 for most factions, the simplest solution is to limit the BR of planes to 4.0 or lower until 8.0 has been reached and they can go up against SPAA at the same BR.
All they need to do is make a standalone tank warfare section like air rb and call it. ...SPAA might be pretty much worthless at that point though, so this idea was probably a pretty bad one tbh

The airplanes in this game just make it god-awful. Of course, trees with wheels alongside 76 or 152 mm cannons way off in the map don't help either, but at least it's not an airborne target with 2 250lb bombs implanted into your tank.
I'd have to agree that AA should get back what it was nerfed on, even if things like the ostwind would be annoying at times.

Imo they need to remove airfield AA in ground RB. Airfields are a complete safe space and are only like 5-7km away from the battle at low and mid tiers
If they limit CAS to at least 2 planes or something like AB Ground, then CAS wouldn't be as annoying. But no, you have half the enemy team in CAS role bombing your spawn

Wish gaijin would just make a separate game mode for ground battles that actually had only ground vehicles, it's the worse part of the game for me, I spend 10 mins trying to get to a point either to cap, get ammo, or replace a crew member and I just instantly get bombed, or I drive 5ft after spawning and instantly get bombed, mean while we have 1AA vehicle shooting at planes and the rest of them are just zooming around the map getting themselves killed

Problem with low tier is that SPAA doesn't help at all, its at most a small deterrent.
Unlike high tier where say, a Roland can slap a plane as far as 8km away (Roland 3s) long before they kill you team, at low tier you have to get an enemy plane under 800m to get a good chance at hitting them.
Ironically, the best anti-air is a fighter... in the air.
Wanna play tank battles? Wanna have fun versing other tanks? Get fucked says gaijin there’s gonna be a shitload of planes bombing you and the only real effective way to deal with them is to turn ground rb onto air battles and take clean wing fighters

Bombs do a crazy, unrealistic amount of damage in War Thunder. Anything short of a direct hit shouldn't knock out a medium or heavy tank. Air power just wasn't an effective weapon against armor during World War 2, and accounted for only a small percentage of the tanks destroyed during the war. Air forces often reported having killed hundreds of tanks when the true numbers were fewer than a dozen. It wasn't until LGBs, JDAMs, and anti-tank cluster bombs were used that air power could reliable knock out a tank. That didn't happen until the Gulf War in 1991.
CAS should cost 2500 SP. Thats the only way to enjoy Ground RB.

Jumbo with 100 pen is not fun at all against Germans with 200 pen on a heavy and med tank, asswell as all the armour you could ever need. No one can convince me that Germany is balanced cos it's not. AND YES I know the cheeks on the panther are weak points and the capola. On the tiger you have the sides and flat angles than can pen into ammo easily, but guess what? They can pen you anywhere ... So while you aiming specifically at 500m into a tiny cheek half hidden in bushes, they just point and click

I said that there are places to shoot and kill/crit them, but Germans dont have to find weak points and can literally shoot tanks anywhere due to the mad pen they have even on the heavies. It's not an issue with dealing with German tanks, it's the issue of long ranged engagements trying to snipe a pixel with 140mm pen while Germans get 200 aphe rounds that one shot anything they touch. Just because you CAN kill a German tank, it doesn't mean it's balanced.

Top tier is nothing but Ka-50 spam.
Below top tier its A-4s and G-91s with ATGMs, along with lower tier ATGM helis.
Low tier bombing is at least harder. And all the tanks are far more balanced, much less cancer bullshit tanks or thermals that only some tanks get or stabilisers and laser rangefinders and etc etc etc.
Plus aircraft dogfighting in GRB is way more fun than ARB.

I wish they, would make getting planes harder so that it would reduce the number of the planes, because like 90% of low tier SPAA is useless and it would mean that you actually need to perform in a tank IN GROUND BASED GAMEMODE.
Still to this day sometimes i encounter players on any ground RB who just hop in some fast 1.0 BR tank just to capture the point and J-out to get into planes. i wonder why the F they play ground RB in the first place...
its so bad that sometimes when the game consist of 2 already taken bases (capturing the base is harder and is winning condition of match) some of them just leave the battle immidiately.
There is also a problem when too much people choose to play the plane in winning match, and because of that there is nobody who can capture the points and you lose because of that. Very annoying
