I was hell bent on getting the new 17in espresso display but that price tag was hurting … I think this is the perfect alternative for darn near $500 cheaper than the espresso
It's an interesting product for sure. If they can somehow get the price down just a bit I think this would sell very good for sure. It's a nice product.
I just used your link and purchased it. I'm up above Seattle but lived most of my life in the South working for killer tech computer companies. Which part of the country are you at?@@craigneidel . Have you considered doing a video with a slight Southern accent? You may like it.
Does this imply that limited device availability will lead to decreased support, especially as it becomes less popular compared to larger brands like Asus or LG?
I bought one for a MacBook m1 and couldn’t get the resolution to work no matter what I did. It’s been suggested I should have seen if a thunderbolt cable would work. Did you use the given cable or use a different one?
@@craigneidel Thank you, Craig! I haven't used unsplash in a long time. I literally just typed in blue wallpaper on unsplash and I got some good ones. Thanks again.
I'm pretty sure you may not be able to use the newest version of the Adobe products on that old of a system unless you use Open Core to update the OS. I would do a specific search for your model on Google and I'm sure there will be more info.
lack of ports is my only complain for the product, if it had usb a which alot of accesories use and external nvme closure somewhere hidden it was a must buy so far i still think its great but i prefer value over utility, in that case imac screen is more valuable or even ipad since they can be both individual devices and extension.
I'm not sure too many monitors have space for SSDs as it's not really a hub. But I do hear you that the cost could be about $100 or more off. I think if they are successful they could make more and the costs might come down for sure. But, it's nice device if you want a premium external travel monitor for the Mac.
It's a tough call as the screen might be more responsive if you are not using sidecar etc. But I hear you and if this was priced slightly lower I think they would sell out quickly.

I have a few more monitors like this coming out over the next 2 or so weeks (another one by this company too).
Craig, Thanks much for posting.
Welcome.
That's a pretty sick monitor
Yeah, it's something that is nice to look at for sure. But the higher res and glossy screen really make it a good option on the higher end market.
What a find, Craig! I thought I had a killer with my portable LG monitor.

Thanks and good luck with everything. I have not tried anting with a Southern accent and I'm from Chicago.
Great review, thanks! Does it have a power passthrough? if it does, how many watts can it pass?
I would go to the amazon link and the info should be in there. I forget since it has been a while but it should be there. Thanks for watching.
Hello, how many inch is your laptop? Is it a big difference with the 16’ screen? Because I notice when on top there is a small difference
I have the 15 MacBook air
Looks like a Great item, but right now $499 for me takes time to fit into my budget or maybe next year might be cheaper. Thank You for Great INFO!
yes I think as they grow the cost could come down later but it's a nice product and unique. Thanks for watching.

It's hard to say but maybe.
im liking that that's a good bit of kit I think ill be looking for something like that great video
Yes, they are a bit pricy but something that is unique for sure.

I used the cable it came with and it works great. It should work on the M1 fine.
Cool product. I'd say yes, it's worth the money.
It's for sure the only one like this and it's a nice product.
Cool wallpaper! Where'd you get it?
unsplash is a website for free images and you can get it there. Look it up on Google.

How many nits of brightness is it?
I would maybe check the Amazon page and it could be on there but my guess is around 275 to 300.
Can I use Mac book pro 2014 , i7, 16gb ram , 15 inches, 128ssd for video editing,, on premium pro and after effect??

@@craigneidel ok but at least I can edit videos with it?
Yes, you should be able to edit some videos for sure.
How long does the battery last?
No battery on the unit as it uses power on the mac. I don't have an exact number but maybe 10% battery drain more when using it.

I'd love to have a second monitor like that for my work travel, but the boss will never go for it.
Yes, it's more of a luxury item compared to the $200 1080P monitors for sure.
I was ready to give them my money, but it's not available in Europe...
Sorry to hear that. I'm surprised as this is normally available there. Maybe they will start selling them there soon. maybe email them.
I think an iPad Pro or the upcoming larger iPad Air is better
It's a tough call as the screen might be more responsive if you are not using sidecar etc. But I hear you and if this was priced slightly lower I think they would sell out quickly.
@@craigneidel you can connect sidecar with a cable.
Yes you can.
Lovely, aesthetically pleasing, “Apple-ish” portable monitor. I wait for price to come down little bit 🫢🤭
Yes, it's different enough to make it a contender if you really like this higher end products. Thanks for watching.
