I loved how there was no twist on Nash being involved. Your character - Nash - is the final piece of the puzzle BECAUSE he has nothing to do with it. He ain't got the deep ties, the history or lay of the land - so he can really smash through all the social barriers for truth.

And to make matters worse, the real killer of George wasn't even apprehended, Marie just went for those who covered Georges death wasting too much time instead of taking the life of the person who was directly responsible for this incident
She was insane and even when Forest points out the flaws in her logic she still tries to find "reasons" why they deserve it. Her insanity and hatred won't let her break the narrative she has made for herself. Twitter and Tumbler are like this too.

Most of them were blackmailed or threatened, Ricky didn't even know it was a prank and ran out of fear; Eugene was targeted despite his parents werethe ones at fault; Carrie's "friends" were targeted cause they're undermining George's death in this prank tradition that got him killed; Forrest was in the way for helping save The Whistling Man's targets; Marie was going to kill Peggy cause she taught she forgot her. Marie could have just exposed The Gallows, but with the money and power, they could have just swept it under a rug.
Imagine being Lesllie in the police car listening to the radio of what Forrest is going through and then she hears that Forrest is in danger too. And all she can think of is: Oh no... not you too...
I think the person we play as at the start of the game was Clive, as Forrest’s first lines indicate that the person who got stabbed really did get stabbed, and wasn’t just a cool tutorial for the game. Their death also just happened to be in a hallway, which if you look carefully at the tutorial, it seems that the hallway is connected to KFAM. That hallway could be another way into the building, which means it is a way into the janitor's closet. Also, he didn't go into the basement because there were no fuses to power it, nor could you enter via the exit door for obvious reasons. Another addition to this is that Clive is one of the only two people dead (the other being Sheriff Mathews) that could die when this whistling night starts, and the killings begin. It also can't be the Sheriff because 1.) He was found dead in the Sheriff's Office, which is no where near KFAM and 2.) There was no sign of struggle in the tutorial death, and we know that the Sheriff Mathews tried shooting either Maria or Henry, so it can't be him. Take this with a grain of salt though because as Forrest pointed out, not everyone could have been able to call 911, so it could have been another employee at KFAM and we wouldn't know because there isn't much of a proper resolution implemented in the game.

I am also very curious as to who and where we are in the credits scene. I cannot wait for the sequel as we know that Marie somehow survived the fall as she can't be found by the radio report
This was one of the best indie titles this year so far. It did a great job building tension, had a unique premise that came across polished and well thought out. The voice acting and animation was absolutely top tier, and the writing actually had me focused the entire way through. The ending was just the tiniest bit cliche, but credit where it's due, at least they didn't do the "The killer is still alive!!!1" bit at the end.
Just finished the game in one sitting and I must say, I preffer Dredge, another game by the studio, but first, the game was great in what you said but sometimes it leans to a parody a bit much with the dialogue and its a bit cheesy making sometime moments where the comedy its not well balanced with whats happening

Then you got podcasts and crime cybersleuths solving the actual crimes with little evidence that they have. They use use online resources and talk to the victims.
Talk about the worst mother ever. Stole her son's childhood for revenge. Tried to kill her own sister for something her parents did and Peggy had nothing to do with. Made assumptions about everyone there that night and just decided everyone was guilty. Attacked a group of kids who had nothing to do with anything that happened in the past. She could have taken revenge by herself instead of dragging her child into it and ruining his life. She could have done something years sooner. She didn't care about real justice. She just wanted revenge to make herself feel vindicated. The fact that she went after children for just being related to the people she thought guilty makes her worse than any of them.
Except that in Venezuela, if his whistle is loud, you're safe and he is far away, if it is a quiet whistling that you hear, you're dead or maybe I got my info incorrect

Scary thing about the Whistling Man is something that the two share with Jack the Ripper (both his Assassin's Creed counterpart and the Real one.) They are extremely clever and able to seamlessly escape almost every time. Hell, Marie is never actually confirmed dead. She fell off the point so more than likely she is dead, but there is a slight chance she lived. Not to mention that Henry is not only alive but likely a psychotic killer trained from birth to be good at it considering he took on and beat a Martial artist that was (by assumption) larger than him. Plus that easy couch throw definitely takes strength. Theres no saying that he didn't learn lockpicking and sneaking, meaning he absolutely could escape.

Well they did explain away the manual as a magazine from someone in the show and the festival featung the Maize Maize was upcoming so the map being there isn’t too surprising. The who’s most likely one was definitely a stretch tho especially since the teens could’ve been fucking around and joking about some of the options. I was surprised that wasn’t part of the puzzle

Nah it's probably because she saw herself in Carrie - a victim of a whistling night prank. Same reason she killed Jimmy. He probably reminded her of Teddy Gallows with how he pranked Carrie.
Specifically 1988, I did the math teddy says 1968 was 20 years ago, thus it would be 1988 plus we see stuff from 1987 there as well, nobody would keep that stuff in present day unless their extremely old or insane.

She even targeted Eugene Stine and he did *NOTHING,* she only targeted him because his parents were dead, she targeted an innocent kid just because she wanted revenge on his parents and went for the next best thing, something she was going to do with her own sister. I do have to say I think it was Henry who jumped off because if you remember they said they were hot on Marie’s trail but we don’t see immediate pursuit of Henry so in my opinion Henry got away while the mother was apprehended because they saved Peggy in the gym and Henry got away and survived the fall just like the original whistling man and will be in the sequel if there is one 😢
I'm more certain Marie dies during the chase. Doubt she'd allow herself to be taken by those that came to help the town that she believes ruined her. So maybe more motivation for him to come back and/or learn from his mother's mistakes. And he could come back as a more prominent menace.
I think it's most likely Henry that got caught, it sounds like there was a cop just outside your door as well as some outside. Meanwhile for Marie's case, a Gym has a Lot of exits, and I would not be surprised that she temporarily avoided them

It was a great game like one of those games in second person were you just give the instructions and hope that all come good in the end. I remember a game about a cctv and you control a guy guiden him out of a killer lair or like the game the republique were you are a gurl name hope trying to escape a dystopian society.

The only thing i don't understand is why the whistling duo targeted Eugene. He is just a kid trying to find love. I felt kinda pointless i didn't see anything about that through out the game.
Eugene's parents were there on the night of George's death and Marie blamed them too. They later got married and had Eugene but died before the game, so Marie wanted to punish Eugene since she couldn't punish his parents.
I wonder if Clive started to realize maybe Marie would do this at some point, and wanted to make sure he could protect everyone. It's clear he knew something others didn't, with the tapes and all that and maybe was even initially in on it somehow.
I'm late to the party I know, but I just finished the game and I enjoyed every second of it. Borrowed it from my library,very glad I did after seeing the trailer for it in the Microsoft store. You really have to use your imagination when the story is being told to visualize what's going in. Telling a story only through words and items is unique and a damn good way to do it. Absolutely loved the horror references in the game, that was amazing to find. The story was a lot of fun to be part of and to have to think on my feet, I did use a guide for some parts because I honestly didn't want to fail. Only used a guide to save the callers, I figured other stuff out on my own. Hearing Forrest rage at Ponty was absolutely hilarious and I couldn't help but laugh. I felt everything you feel while watching a horror movie, fear,suspense,tension,a bit of humor thrown in, some jump scares and finally relief that the character got away from the killer without any visuals of what's going on.
One thing I don't understand is how Teddy's father had leverage over Sheriff Matthews. We know about Sandra, he threatened to make her rent go up. And Virginia, he threatened her with her sister's disease. But how did he manipulate Sheriff Matthews? I think Teddy's father might've threatened to dismantle the Sheriff's office, I would like to hear some other theories though.
My question is what does forest have to do with the death of george? I might've just not been listening super attentively but I didn't notice anything that occurred around the death of george that would even be remotely related to forest
He doesn't. He literally doesn't have anything to do with George's death. What he is involved, however, is literally saving the people who "covered" his death, while not even knowing the situation at all beforehand

I am not sure how accurate this is but I think the person who you play at the beginning is Clive, when it switches to Foreat he thinks.he hears a scream or howling, possibly Clive being murdered or the whistling man outside. The tutorial takes place outside the station and the only person besides Peggy and Forest to be there would be Clive. The only counter to this is, during the tutorial if you open the fuse box you will see no fuses, when Forest checks later there's 4 fuses, 3 of which are dead.
George's death by accidental prank causes Marie to go into a downward spiral into insanity, seeking revenge on those who tried to cover his death. Even as far as making her son a psychopath for her own justice. She could've raised him differently but was fueled and blinded by rage and agony. Targeting people who mix his death, faking his autopsy, they were victims by others, but to Marie, they're all accomplices to Teddy Gallows Jr, the one who started this. She despises him for what he's done to her George. Eugene, Cassie and the teens were like her in the past. Eugene has no parents so she wants him to join them in the afterlife, she spared Cassie because she experienced that before and Jimmy and the teens because of the sick joke about the missing killer.
The only thing you don't get about this game is.....who are all these people who just so happen to have cordless phones in the late 80s? Were told Murray is calling from his office phone but Leslie, Ernest, even Murphy and Karen have phones they just bring with them? I know car phones were a thing but super uncommon..even if they explained they had like walkie talkies and were somehow being related to Kfam, I would believe it but still

The sheriff ordered the coroner to cover up the accident, Sandra lied about finding the body in the reservoir rather than the river, Maurice wouldn’t write about Marie’s version of George’s death Virginia was the coroner who changed the autopsy report Eugene’s parents were from the same year as George and may have been involved in his accident but they died in a bus accident Murphy challenged the whistling man to a fight Jimmy was pulling a whistling man prank and did prank phone calls Chuck was the second whistling man in the prank Ricky was teddys friend and Marie thought he was in on the prank Jason pretended to the victim of the whistling man in the original prank to scare everyone Peggy forgot about her sister Clive was hired to cover up the accident Teddy was the one who chased George And I’m not sure why Rebecca and ant were targeted

Everyone was a victim except Teddy and his father, including the killers. Henry was probably trained since he was young to be a killer.
Still, the killers are bad people.

You only hear the police chase over their radio system. So they do have a good set-up for some sequels and maybe even a prequel.
But I think a sequel would be a lot more fitting considering this does feel like an 80s slasher

Well they did explain away the manual as a magazine from someone in the show and the festival featung the Maize Maize was upcoming so the map being there isn’t too surprising. The who’s most likely one was definitely a stretch tho especially since the teens could’ve been fucking around and joking about some of the options. I was surprised that wasn’t part of the puzzle

I do have to say I think it was Henry who jumped off because if you remember they said they were hot on Marie’s trail but we don’t see immediate pursuit of Henry so in my opinion Henry got away while the mother was apprehended because they saved Peggy in the gym and Henry got away and survived the fall just like the original whistling man and will be in the sequel if there is one 😢
I'm more certain Marie dies during the chase. Doubt she'd allow herself to be taken by those that came to help the town that she believes ruined her. So maybe more motivation for him to come back and/or learn from his mother's mistakes. And he could come back as a more prominent menace.

I think it's most likely Henry that got caught, it sounds like there was a cop just outside your door as well as some outside. Meanwhile for Marie's case, a Gym has a Lot of exits, and I would not be surprised that she temporarily avoided them

The only thing i don't understand is why the whistling duo targeted Eugene. He is just a kid trying to find love. I felt kinda pointless i didn't see anything about that through out the game.
Eugene's parents were there on the night of George's death and Marie blamed them too. They later got married and had Eugene but died before the game, so Marie wanted to punish Eugene since she couldn't punish his parents.

I'm late to the party I know, but I just finished the game and I enjoyed every second of it.
Borrowed it from my library,very glad I did after seeing the trailer for it in the Microsoft store.
You really have to use your imagination when the story is being told to visualize what's going in. Telling a story only through words and items is unique and a damn good way to do it.
Absolutely loved the horror references in the game, that was amazing to find.
The story was a lot of fun to be part of and to have to think on my feet, I did use a guide for some parts because I honestly didn't want to fail. Only used a guide to save the callers, I figured other stuff out on my own.
Hearing Forrest rage at Ponty was absolutely hilarious and I couldn't help but laugh.
I felt everything you feel while watching a horror movie, fear,suspense,tension,a bit of humor thrown in, some jump scares and finally relief that the character got away from the killer without any visuals of what's going on.
You know the whistling man is kinda..... hot.

I am not sure how accurate this is but I think the person who you play at the beginning is Clive, when it switches to Foreat he thinks.he hears a scream or howling, possibly Clive being murdered or the whistling man outside. The tutorial takes place outside the station and the only person besides Peggy and Forest to be there would be Clive. The only counter to this is, during the tutorial if you open the fuse box you will see no fuses, when Forest checks later there's 4 fuses, 3 of which are dead.

George's death by accidental prank causes Marie to go into a downward spiral into insanity, seeking revenge on those who tried to cover his death. Even as far as making her son a psychopath for her own justice. She could've raised him differently but was fueled and blinded by rage and agony. Targeting people who mix his death, faking his autopsy, they were victims by others, but to Marie, they're all accomplices to Teddy Gallows Jr, the one who started this. She despises him for what he's done to her George. Eugene, Cassie and the teens were like her in the past. Eugene has no parents so she wants him to join them in the afterlife, she spared Cassie because she experienced that before and Jimmy and the teens because of the sick joke about the missing killer.
On the calendar to the right, it says the year is 1987
