    Happy 2025 everyone! 🎉
My challenge this year is to quit all dairy. I'll mostly be eating lion style.
What are your challenges and goals for 2025?

      Thank you!
Using homemade suet for cooking and frying things. Today I visited my butcher and ordered some fat trimmings.
This year I made my own ghee. It's so simple.

Oh my you are so spot on about going slow. I went almost cold turkey. The first 4 months of keepers were onions and garlic and sugar with the coffee. It was pretty intense. TMI on what I went through. But I will not go back to the things which were destroying my gut. It is not attractive to me anymore. Many thanks for these reminders, they are great! 🤗

happy New Year 💜 Same here :) Ive been doing carnivore diet the last 4 years, but started today 1/1/25 the lion diet, which also means no more coffee 💪 but I might have butter occasionally… what do you think of butter? It is the least ‘harmful’ dairy.

@@sklunt I got some fat trimmings from the local meat shop. Not for free .. but still a good price! I don't mind paying for this valuable item. I find tallow really hard and a pain to clean up, so I've been mixing it with lard. I'm trying out a mix with coconut oil and avocado oil as well to see how that turns out.

I'm going to see if I can get into (and sustain) ketosis for the first-time, doing mostly carnivore. I'm already dairy-free, so I might end up right there with you! (To be honest, I'm a little terrified of experimenting on myself, but I figure if you've managed it this long in great health, I should give it a go too. Thanks, Lee!)

No UK cattle are grain finished. The majority of UK cattle are finished on hay/silage which is grass. They will also be given a small amount of pellets every day which will have some cereals with added nutrients and minerals.

Hi Lee, when my health journey started I'd never even heard of keto or carnivore. Nurse Kathy told me "All carbs are sugar". With T2D I had heard of Prof Roy Taylor of Newcastle University via the Hairy Bikers. I started my research there. Everything slowly fell into place. I discovered carnivore after 6 months and took a further yeat to adopt a carnivore lifestyle. I'm still transitioning as I haven't been able to eliminate the alcohol and coffee yet. 105lbs down, 8 inches off my waist, T2D annihilated and triglycerides smashed.

I agree that a variety of meat is king! Try to eat a different meat each day, e.g. fish, beef, turkey, lamb, pork, chicken, seafood, duck, goat, venison.
Seasoning, meat condiments, and cheese are a great way of helping the transition in the short and long time. These add flavour.
A tin of sardines or mackrell costs between 50p and 80p, so very cheap. I eat three times a week, usually as a breakfast.
Eggs are excellent value - have them differently, too. Scrambled, fried, poached, hard boiled...
Bacon, buy streaky or back - smoked or unsmoked to ring the changes.
Beef, buy rump or ribeye steaks, and balance the cost with a roasting joint, fatty mince, good quality bergers, or meat balls.
Chicken, buy the highest quality, better from your butcher. Make sure you buy the brown meat - legs and wings for flavour and fat.
I keep tins of crab meat, anchovies, and a tin of line caught wild salmon in the store cupboard to keep me going if I crave a change.
Over time, I've transitioned from eating three or four times a day to eating once or twice. I just eat when I'm hungry.
During the first couple of months, it's great to use Keto sticks (dip under urine flow) to indicate if you are in ketosis. I also have a blood sugar monitor. I test my blood sugar and urine ketones each morning and record the data in my phone calendar. I also weigh myself at the same time each week. The weight falls off rapidly in the first few weeks/months depending on your starting weight and health. Eventually, it settles down. If you need to lose more, for health reasons, look at limiting something else, e.g. cheese.
To slow oxalate dumping, I keep one carb, but eat it after protein and fat at the end of an eating session. My favourites are blueberries and/😂or cherries, eaten frozen with double cream. I eat small quantities of the fruit - less than 1/2 a cup.
I gave up milk, so I gave up tea. I drink KetoPro electrolytes, but I use the flavoured choices - cherryberry and lemon orange. Both contain stevia and natural flavours, but in such small quantities, I don't worry about it. I drink a pint each morning and use this as a Base for taking my daily lugol's iodine and supplements- fish oils, vit D3 and K2. At night I take a multi B and a magnesium glysonate.
That's it. I've lost 36lbs over the first three months and settled down at a comfortable 10st2lbs, which for a 57yo 5'5" female is healthy and sustainable.
    Best of luck!

Very informative post. One thing though, I've read recently and I recall at least two years ago too, that fish oil supplements are not a very good idea. It's because they can be quick to oxidize and go bad. Shelf life on them is a very grey area, as is production quality at point of manufacture.
      This makes sense to me.
I noted that you take a number of other real foods that will give you the good fish oils.
      Way to go Heather!👍

I quit bread, pasta, rice and other stuff like that in one day few months ago and I don`t feel like I`m missing out. And I did not have a cereal in like 20 years lol. Never been a huge fan of vegetables. So I guess it is different to everyone. One day I only ate nothing but 2 pounds of meat split in 2 meals. Being lazy also helps ) I just don`t want to deal with cutting, slicing, chopping, grating associated with plant stuff. It`s just too much work and time.
On this very first day of the year enjoying my steak tartare and wish you all a new life and new you in 2025 !

Excellent advice anyone thinking of going carnivore needs to look no further. I was lucky as I didn't know I was going to become a carnivore so mine was a slow transition from a bad diet to great diet. I must admit it took a year or two before I felt really comfortable with it. The benefits I experienced are fantastic immunity to coughs colds viruses etc, great calmness and sleep, incredible physical strength and endurance.

I don't think we have to go as slowly as that. Sure, slowly perhaps ensures success but if you aren't eating a terrible diet, you don't need to go that slowly. Get rid of the processed food, get rid of the the grain and seed oils and processed carbohydrates.
Then the next week you might cut back on the vegetables, incorporate more meat and eggs, then week three you should be good to go.
I'm not sure oxalate dumping can be avoided for some who have been eating lots of vegetables. They are probably going to have to contend with some of that in any event. People have been carnivore for years and still have to deal with that sometimes.
Overall, a very good video, thank you. You're looking healthy and I am very happy about that.

I've enjoyed watching you since the Tammy interview. Im on carnivore for the 2nd time, this time I finally have more energy (it reached a peak at one point when I trained several days in a row super heavy and no crash, but has been low for weeks now) my mood is far better my mind is working better. But for some reasons both times (3months lion first time and now up to my 4th month carnivore -3 months lion) I get fat. Like fatter than I was with rice meat and veg... It's very depressing like I am fatter now with my strong work outs on lion diet than I was a few months ago when I was gorging cakes and chocolates, creams and cheese... And yep it's fat. It's so weird and embarassing actually. Can't find anything in the carnivore community except some suggestions for cutting fat intake (Shawn baker and I believe carnivore coach said he reduces fat when shredding) but there's so much conflicting info it seems. Would love your advice

I've been doing this eating style for about 8 months now and one of the problems I am having is in getting the calories I'm told I need to consume. More often than not after eating a 250g ribeye and six eggs for breakfast I don't want to eat again that day or just can't force more food down? Now for a bigger person this might not be a problem but as a skinny quite tall man it is becoming a problem. I am finding it increasingly hard to deal with this calorie intake scenario. Apart from that It's been a quite transforming experience when it comes to the lifting of clinical depression and anxiety.

My husband had this same problem - he's naturally very lean and couldn't put on weight for more than a day even on the SAD. He's been making himself a raw milk drink with a bunch of extra cream in the evenings and it's helped him a lot! He'll throw whatever in there, too like a tsp of maple syrup, raw egg yolks, maybe a splash of the kids' raw chocolate milk... Whatever he's feeling like 🤷 (granted he's not trying to heal any health issues at this point or anything, just trying to eat a lot of healthy food and maintain his energy and weight)

Happy new year Lee 🤞please can you tell me what you eat to give adequate folate. My wife recently had a blood test which showed low folate levels. We both follow a low carb diet, mostly red meat poultry and fish, a small amount of leafy vegetables?

    • @kentcarnivore
      @kentcarnivore  วันที่ผ่านมา

Eggs and liver are good sources! Just eat enough fatty red meat, don't cook it too much, add eggs, and potentially have a slither of liver once or twice per week! I don't personally eat organs much anymore.

I probably don't eat enough. A 10-12 oz (1/3 kg) steak per day leaves me eating a couple of cookies, too. Going to try over 1 lb (.45 kg) per day for awhile. See if that helps lose those 'cravings'.

I didn’t understand what you meant saying you’re not going to have issues (from hormones, additives, grains) when it comes to conventional meat, in terms of the protein. Does that mean that the fat on the animal is the part that accumulate these nasties? Is that why you recommended to get the fat from the butcher (if it is grass fed-finished), and the lean meat from supermarket?

    • @brimminy
      @brimminy 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yes.

    • @kentcarnivore
      @kentcarnivore  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

Exactly, yes! If there are any levels of toxins from what the cows have eaten in the feed, or what they're injected with, etc, it's stored in the fats. That's why I'd prioritise getting the highest quality fats. The protein can be cheap from the store. Hope that makes sense.
I personally buy grass finished/organic from my local butchers.

@ brilliant! Thank you! 💜 And being the factual person I am, I asked ChatGPT to check your answer. The answer was long, but here’s the conclusion he gave me: “The reply is factually accurate. Fat does accumulate more lipophilic toxins, while protein tissue typically does not. Prioritizing high-quality fat from grass-fed or organic sources while using conventional lean meat is a reasonable approach.”

Allow me to share my case, I need some guidance on what to do as a Carnivore who cannot afford red meat or Ruminant meat(I am Brazilain dn live in Sao Paulo-BR):
What should I do if I can't afford red meat or ruminant meat? I have been thinking about stoping the Carnivore diet and maybe transition to a Keto diet since i cannot affort ruminant meat and have not lsoe bodyfat eating to satiety(Chicken Thigths)I can buy bugger patties but dont know how much or many should i eat to lose bodyfat without being hungry.
I have been following a carnivore diet for over 11 months. I have had good results in the beginning (first 90-100 days) but I haven't lost any fat for months.
I am 180cm tall, weigh about 180lbs @+-22%BF. I need to lose at least another 15 lbs. (I Go to the gym 3 times a week and perfrome High intensity training, to build muscle and assist losing bodyfat.). I eat 1.1-1.2 kg of roasted chicken thighs plus 7-8 eggs. Divided into meals within a 6 hour window.
Allow me to ask a few questions:
1- What can I do to lose weight if I can't afford red meat or ruminant meat? I am Brazilian and live in Brazil. With the increase in inflation, ruminant meat is out of my budget. Can I buy/afford hamburger meat
2- and chicken (I eat roasted thighs)?
When should the CICO model be used to lose fat? Eating until full stopped having any effect on fat loss more than 6 months ago.
PS: I am a healthy individual with no chronic disease or health issue. I started Carnivore to do a body recomposition without being hungry.
    Thank you.

Buy 5 to 6 pounds of beef, cook all at once. Filter and save the excess fat into a tin container and store in the fridge. Cook eggs and other meat in that.
Why are on Earth are people buying beef tallow?
