I'm in the middle of the barbell now. Started strong end of May. Did fantastic until mid October. For some reason I started focusing on keto 'treats'. I am fighting now to get back on track. Love zerocarb...thanks!
I blew my shoulder out 40 years ago and never got it operated on so I had problems from time to time. I went to Carnivore for 17 months now and within 4 months my shoulder was healed. Hip alignment can be fixed by daily hip stretching. Hip mis-alignment can cause back and knee issues.
LOL, I think my head shrunk a bit too. Good interview! I had a friend die from knee replacement metal poisoning. One day sore replacement knee so sees doctor, doctor rushed him into intensive, and dead three days later. People seem to think they are perfectly safe but there are always dangers putting metal in the body. Best to avoid if you can!
My brother had a knee replacement and nearly died from a subsequent infection. The infection was very fast acting. Any surgery has its dangers. I used to trust doctors to keep me safe but no longer.
I like the way this man does it. It gives us who aren’t “perfect carnivores “ a sense of accomplishment. Sometimes trying to be the perfect carnivore is the enemy of good.
I found out the hard way that experimenting with desserts can leave you re-inflammed and unable to use your painful thumbs and right arm and shoulder. Your guest experiments with not-carnivore foods and it will eventually catch up with him. I'm fasting myself back to pain free and lesson learned.
He's still young and some have to learn the hard way. Back 30 years ago when I worked for the US Navy, when someone kept injuring themselves Civil Service would dismiss them for being accident prone.
What a lovely man Tariq is. I like his approach as he doesn't tie himself up and become anal about his foods. I love the fact as a guest he eats what is presented.
I used to enjoy wine, and drank it a lot. Then I started to react to it with joint pain. I switched to hard liquor, basically a locally produced cheap, flavorless rum. So I was a heavy drinker for many years. I stopped craving alcohol when I went very low carb and don't miss it.
@kaakrepwhatever I started craving sweets after giving up my clear brandy. I had no idea it turned to sugar. In a couple days there's no more cravings.
@@melanie4926 My boyfriend of many years was a carb addict. While he accepted on some level that a higher protein and lower carb diet was more ideal, he reacted by eating out more and buying more high carb snacks. I recall hearing him say that after having a large milkshake with lunch, he would have to continue to consume carbs for hours to avoid a crash, which of course meant his blood sugar was all over the place. I told him this was not normal, and he should check it with his doctor. I don't think he's ready to accept responsibility for his health.
Busy guy. Good story to illustrate that carnivore food is everywhere, so no excuses. I rarely eat at other folks’ homes, but do eat what they serve; it takes at least a few days to feel wonderful again, but that’s ok. When I substituted occasional gin for wine, I felt way better in morning…however, French wine would be a challenge!🙂 Thanks for your post.
Tariq’s story hit home for me. I’d really like to speak with him about his knee issues, since I too have serious knee-pain. Doctors have been useless, at least the ones I’ve been to. Since newly on Carniivore I’ve noticed improvement, but I do suspect a cartilage tear. Hope I can contact him soon, just to hear a bit more detail, limited joint movement, when does the pain start, etc.? I’ll be listening to this one again for sure.
No you do not know pain both of my knees are Fuk up and the pain I'm 60 did have knee surgery 30 yrs ago I bet it's inflammation. I just take like 6 excindrin a day.
Love this interview, Tariq, I thought you’d were around 40-50, when you said 60 I nearly fell on my recliner. I’m female, 76, carnivore for 6 months, defied a knee and hip replacement and have a ribeye every day but falling off the wagon sometimes is normal, this gives me reasons to not do it again, learning constantly and responding to adverse reactions is key.
This is one of those rare times that I'm consciously thankful that I'm not rich. Traveling like that, constantly eating in restaurants, and access to so many great foods, internationally, would make this much more difficult. For me, anyway. ❤ Also, I'm so thankful for your show.
2 1/2 years ago, I watched a video on the book “ the big fat surprise” by Nina Teicholz and this helped me get over my fear of eating fat and set me free to go down the carnivore rabbit hole. Her book is on Amazon .
Thank you for this story. He is still new. The more he learns the more he’ll gain confidence to go all the way. Fun has nothing to do with what you put in your precious body. He’ll get it. He is very good looking and charming. He needs to use his smarts over all. p.s. carnivore helped me with my addictions. True carnivore really strengthens your brain.
I've noticed wine, and alcohol negatively affects my sleep quality, which eventually affects all aspects of my life. However, If I drink regularly I get 'used to it' and don't notice it either, as it becomes 'normal'.
Great interview... Actually, one sided arthritis is common non-gastric diagnostic symptom in IBD (crohns and ulcerative colitus). My rheumatologist used to use me to teach his students. He was old school and used to look at the whole person and all their symptoms!
@@lat1419 interesting! I had calcium on my hip joint but the labrum was still good. I linked it to ulcerative colitis, but of course doctors found that a ridiculous thought.
@Namava-o7k "drs" are simply not even acquainted with long standing medical knowledge! Carpel tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and many inflammatory conditions coexist with IBD.
I just like wine. I get it. I'm going on 9 months, I've lost 40 pounds, feel 20 years younger, but, I'm a lush. I only have pain when I eat grains and root veggies. Plants! If I cheat and have bread, sciatica pain and foot pain is immediate. I don't eat plants, like some wine and rum, don't give up, just don't eat plants. Ugh. NO FIBER and grains.
Carnivore was my last hope! My doctor’s advice got me to 315#, memory problems, BP increasing, I had to try out what was best for me. I was 77 when I went on diet and changed my life for the better.
At last someone even mentions wine. I admit that I always enjoyed steak with wine, a glass or two. Having discovered carnivore in early 2024 and eating more meat than before that, I still want that taste combination... I need something sauer, even considered whether to get it with apple cider winegar. I don't need the alcohol but alcohol free wines are too sweet. So, we shouldn't use food as entertainment...but living alone, nearly Maggie's age, no pains, weight again as it was 60 years ago (!) l do alloy myself some liberties! 😅
Were all those injuries from polo? (Saw pics in 2023 from the Harriman match at Meadow Brook, btw. Nice day.) I always pack jerky. Ditto on the sparkling water.
Dry wine is fairly low carb. Not a problem for most, in moderation. This extreme level of dietary stricture is only needed by a small percentage of the population.
I love how alcoholics can justify their addiction, “ oh I just burn it off”. Alcohol is a poison to the body, the liver gets rid of it first for that reason. 😕
A small intake of something is not an addiction. Eating food is not the same as having a binge eating disorder. Quantities matter. Reasons for consuming something likewise.

Oh my goodness, I have pins and plates removed from a fracture, so glad I needed to.

Absolutely! I was thinking just the same as you, perfectionism is not a good thing anyway. Good enough is good enough. 👍 Keep on!

Each body is different.
You do so much commercial travel. Without carnivore, you'd pry get sick. Most people I know get the travel bug after flying.

You look amazing Tariq. Age is just a number. Very attractive man.
My glasses keep falling off my face - 10 weeks on carnivore. 😮
Why???
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@sparklemotion86 Probably because their head and face have slimmed down. Now the glasses are too big 😊

Club soda is so refreshing and every good bar /restaurant will have it. Another good beverage option.

Interesting “why.” Would enjoy an update on his intended goal down the road.
You will have less injuries because your brain is clear. You'll also recover more quickly. You'll also not feel the injuries as severely.

We will get there. I think the alcohol covers so much pain we have from decades of grain and plant eating.

I have bad hips and am hoping carnivore can help them heal. Any helpful anecdotes?
HIs story is similar to mine
What kind of carnivore diet is he on with all this wine drinking?
Not meaning to be negative but it sure is nice to hear someone that can actually speak
I don't understand your meaning. He's always had guests who speak well, including this one.

Wine = sugar . He needs to stop kidding himself. He is a bon vivant and will continue to be Carnivore or Keto be damned.
Totally agree, think he's gonna have to be more dedicated

@@velinas_he said he’d have a bottle of wine, frequently , that’s not a small amount
@petaross316 Agree, but frequently is a vague word. Could be once per week or once per tenday. Which is fine for most. But probably more in this case.
Wine =sugar, your lifestyle sound cool but doesn't work for you Tariq
omg, please stop interviewing JP stans, immediately loss of credibility.
I'm not sure what you mean. Could you clarify please?
