just bought one very similar but more plain from Burgschneider!! Really great prices and lovely wellmade real-clothes (not costume polyester as many purchases can be). I will add an interesting effect in the front by using a temu lacy table runner for the front and arm bands because I can change it.

this was really fun to watch. I put it on hold but I'm about to make Baroness Rodmilla's ball gown from the film Everafter and when researching the gown I discovered although most of the fashion was based on italian fashion Rodmilla's intro gown and her ball gown/ karma comes knocking scene her both gowns had Burgundian influence which is fascinating because it explains where Rodmilla may have come from before she married Danielle's father. Hopefully I can return to it after my scheduled projects are done.

If you are worried about the hem becoming dirty - you can stitch in a few buttons to make a dust ruffle to keep it cleaner (also called a balayeuse which serves a double purpose. First, it drags on the ground beneath your dress, collecting dust and debris. This may sound disturbing, but it saves your gown from being soiled by that very same rubbish. In addition, some balayeuses add support to your train, keeping it full and spread out, instead of crumpling on itself as trains tend to do.). And they don't have to fully line the gown, they could maybe start at the mid-calf/knee level to the hem of the dress.
Love these, just wish I had places to wear them!

Reminds me of the Wicked Queen in Snow White. What colors would you put Snow White's mother in?

I am! My mom grew up in Sweden, and since we've had fun here with some of the Swedish themes of my childhood, I ended up adopting the phrase on the channel! 💙💛

Did you wear period stays with this gown? Also, the claim that the Burgundian gown was lined entirely with fur is a bit difficult to accept at face value both due to the challenge of maintenance and cost. Felt just seems more practical. Can you point to any museum specimens with a full fur lining. I really enjoy your explanations along with the thought process of weighing practical considerations in crafting a modern facsimile.
