  • The answer is across London, but not back. Obviously it still works as a bike when there is no battery, and the low weight means it's not as terrible as other e-bikes, but for real distances you're gonna wanna bring a charger or a spare battery.

The coffee shop charge is a metric I've considered when thinking about e-micromobility, and from what I've read and heard from acquaintances, 10 miles of full-electric is about the cap just because of charging speed and battery tech. For a while someone I knew was using a Onewheel to get everywhere they could, and it seemed like they were scheduling meetups around how long they would have to charge at the Starbucks dotted around the area, which does seem to miss the point of a "last mile vehicle", but I guess that's American public transit, am I right?

I love this candid video. You don't sound like an informercial and you call it as you see it. I would love to hear your opinion of the Hummingbird ebike with the 250 watt Zehus motor/battery all-in-one. Is it a great bike? No? Not really? I have no clue.

Its the UK the law is 250W motor 15.5 MPH PEDAL ASSISTED if you pedal faster & you can the motor has to cut out. Throttles are not allowed so u have to work with the motor.

    Manufacturers lie about their products?
*In other news, Toycat is yes*

Now as a comparison you shouldn’t do another distance test using economy mode and assisting in a reasonable manner

The idea of an e bike is to keep you from huffing and puffing for air lol,,I like mine at 28 mph I can open my mouth like an air scoop and get some extra air in my lungs works out great

Great video Andrew and I'm glad someone has highlighted the grossly exaggerated range on the G4i. I bought mine approx 6 months ago and I've been really disappointed with the range. If you plan to go a good distance on a single charge do NOT touch the throttle. The throttle kills the battery rediculously quickly. Guess we might have to wait for a solid state battery before we reach achievable ranges of 50 - 70 miles. All that said I love that the bike folds, is relatively light, easy to change tyres and is great fun to ride.

I've come to accept my Gocycle will only go 35km max in City+ mode and I'm ok with that as it 35km of fun!!

When the battery gets halfway it will always run down faster towards the end. I have a specialised Kenevo. It has a massive battery but I still have to take a spare if I want to do 50+ miles. I mean I could go further if I adjust the settings and put in more effort. But if I want to do that I’d ride my normal bike haha

I never see anyone walking on sidewalk or riding a bike, if there is even is one. I also live in the USA and their are very little sidewalks and bikelanes and if there are some they are super small compared to massive roads with no puplic transport.

In my experience of using an e-bike daily the outside temperature will have a big effect on the range.

Great video. There's loads of content for this bike but your channel gives the best account of it, beyond comparison of the technical specs. Thanks

Definitely could do it with heavy pedaling or eco mode, weather dependent :)
