    I own a Gocycle G4I for almost 2 months now and I am really happy how it performs. As a long test run with a single charge, I went from my city to Amsterdam and back which is almost a distance of 33 km using city mode. On that day I used the bike for 74 km, and I still had 30 % of battery when I arrived home. Pretty impressive.

    I bought the G4i October 2021 and there’s some really good points . The G4i as no wires on show at all handling is really good. In November of last year the put all 3 g4 bikes up £1000 so I got mine for £4000 but it came without mudguards or front and rear lights. Now they come with mudguards and front and rear lights but they put them up £1000 if you total the cost of all that tits only £260 so what as the £740 gone on. It’s a very good bike but it cost way to much

    • @Techtablets

      I've just got a G4i and yes its a great bike. I'd like to mention that I got mine via a UK workplace salary sacrifice 'Cycle-Scheme'. This means you pay over a year and essentially get about 1/3 off the price i.e. tax free. I would agree about not being able to switch modes without the app and why can't the handlebar display actually show the speed, clock etc.? Overall though, it is a great 'bit of kit'.

    I suspect those whining about the price haven’t been in a bike shop for a while. You can easily spend £1500+ on a manual Brompton. The eBrompton is only a couple of hundred pounds less than this and this has been designed from the ground up as an ebike - and it shows.
    I’ve had a GS for over four years and it’s been faultless. Just back from a service and feels like new. Nice to know when spending a significant amount on an ebike that long term support will be there. Not sure if you can say the same about the new brands that are springing up.
    When collecting my GS I has the chance to try the G4 and I was amazed - it moves the game on significantly and the new motor is remarkable. If definitely justifies its price tag.
    One last comment on costs - my car costs about £500/year before it even leaves the drive. And let’s not forget petrol is sniffing round the £2/litre level. ebikes are making more and more sense for city dwellers…

  • @geekmystique
    @geekmystique 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    They did do a lot of custom molds and innovation, the price is understandable... But it they will have a hard time finding their customers with such deep pockets.... I appreciate the effort- there are so many thrown together standard component cycles out there, it takes companies like this to push other manufacturers to higher levels.

  • @budawang77
    @budawang77 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Must have been tough handing this one back. Great bike but I'm not convinced there's a big difference with the Fiido X for less than half the price. The Fiido's hydraulic disk brakes and torque assist are simply superb and they have been responsive at resolving the small niggles like the rattling magnet. The Fiido's range is slightly better although it is about 2.2 kg heavier.

    • @Techtablets

    I just bought the G4i because of the larger battery, more informative display, but mainly for the Traction Control on the front wheel. I believe this is exclusive to Gocycle. Having a 26" folder with a 300w front hub drive previously, I was not going to make that mistake again.
