  • In this episode, we’re talking about the importance of accepting oneself as a conundrum, starting each day right, prioritizing authenticity and individuality, and working hard at cultivating a positive attitude.
Ordinary moments are underrated. We need to plant seeds for the harvest we want.
In the episode we chat about the importance of:
-Appreciating the simple joys in life and notice them more often.
-Embracing old-fashioned things and appreciate the history they hold.
-Accepting that being a conundrum is part of being human.
-Starting each day right and prioritize self-care.
-Valuing authenticity and individuality in yourself and others.
-Cultivating a positive attitude and focus on the good.
-Finding joy in ordinary moments and make them come alive.
-Planting seeds for the desired harvest in life.

Looking at 71, and I have added new skills. I am walking 6-7 miles a day and feel great! Life is as good as you and the good Lord make it...Just keep moving forward!

I'm so impressed!! That's amazing! I've been trying to walk more but i'm only up to 2 miles, and it's definitely not every day! I have to ask, did/do you do anything to avoid skin splints? I do stretches before walking and have new/good shoes, but my shins aren't too happy :)

@@MichelleVisser I wear compression knee socks every day, Which in the heat of West Tennessee can be challenging, but it saves my legs. I also use a product called heel seats in my shoes. I purchased both on Amazon. In March, one Sat. I went to the fiber festival and that night I was in the ER, and I ended up having an emergency exploratory abdominal surgery Sun.morning at 6:00AM...The walking was got me out of the hospital by Tuesday afternoon, even with 25 staples and my gut looking like a weird science project. The MD, told me my walking was what got me back on my feet and helped my recovery.

@@TheTimeMiner wow! do you mean because you had been walking you were able to recover better?
And i'll look into the compression socks--good idea!

Fantastic & inspirational talk & I can relate to all of this as a 71 year old, where I have the time to learn & explore new skills. Thanks & God bless everyone 🤗🇨🇦

I'm 72 and go out of my way to learn new things and try to put them to use. I'm a new fermenter and think that's going ok. I've tried cheese making...not ready to talk about that. Yes, Hostess was all over. Are plenty as a kid. Surprised I'm still on the sky side of dirt. Hostess is still sold all over and is now owned by Smuckers. And no, I don't eat them anymore. I cook pretty much everything we eat and have for at least a couple of decades. Thanks for the inspiration to keep going.

I actually didn't know that Hostess is still around! I guess I haven't looked at the processed cupcake aisle in stores in a long while! Are the chocolate cakes with choc icing and white filling still around? Funny I really thought they were just a memory from my childhood 😃 I've never heard the say " still on the sky side of dirt." I love it. And seriously how unclean I ate until just the last 10 years of my life... I too am surprized I'm healthy; only by the grace of God

@@MichelleVisser I'll be honest, when I go to the grocery store, I tend to only shop the periphery. Very rarely do I go down an aisle, and that to get gluten free for my husband, so I'm not the one to ask about current stuff offered. I have heard from others that the present Hostess products are definitely not as good as the ones we remember. Stay healthy!

@@debmazalan3386 oh that's interesting.... i definitely believe it. For two reasons,... first they're just making everything worse than they used to and second i often never like the taste of things I thought i used to love. Nice to chat :)

Yes you taught this 65 year old a new word. I had to look up the word conundrum never heard of it.

okay, i LOVE that I taught you a new word... now you have to make sure you use it as much as possible so you retain it. I love having a good new word in my vocabulary. :)

What a different and enjoyable podcast. As a 67 year old, I could definitely relate to it. The verse from Philippians is one I also try to keep in mind. Happy birthday, whenever it was.

I was originally from Conn. then we moved to New Hampshire. You could find anything and everything you wanted. with-in 1hr on post road. Now I go to West Lebanon once in awhile and It is to busy for me. And that is only a strip mall.
