This VKB is so versatile that I am going to buy a lefty to go with my righty and fly my helicopters with those two. One a collective. The other the cyclic. Outstanding ! I just received my Space Premium. I had watched your video a couple times before I received it. Your last configuration did it for me, once I figured out that I had to remove the little red inserts. The same setup works perfectly for helicopter and the MV-22 Osprey. Very precise control.
    One question. Does your stick have more throw to the front than the back? My rearward movement leaves it almost vertical. Forward goes to about 45 degrees.

  • @grindrake3225
    @grindrake3225 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hey, thanks a lot for this! Some great insights and clarification on the spring weights.
    Just got my VKB Gladiator NXT EVO OTA (ok lots of initials there....) to set up for Star Citizen. The new EVO bases come with little red caps over the clutch adjustments and like a total newb I was thinking I needed to find the adjustment screws to install there... watched your video vs VKB's setup guide and yours had a lot more detail in it. I had my AHA! They come off! moment right when you started using your allen key to adjust the clutch. Going to use this in conjunction with my TM Warthog HOTAS - really wanted to go Virpil but the extra tariffs just made that option unattainable. If I like the stick enough I may replace the TM Joystick with a R-Handed VKB.
    And yes, Shipping to North America is horrendous. Though DHL had it here in 5 calendar days.

      To the US it wasn't too bad, but it still sucks, hopefully they will do a us warehouse.
      The version of the EVO I got did not have those red caps, but I have seen pics of others having them, very interesting!

    When you are using this in the Space Sim throttle mode, does the Z axis (twist) often get accidentally added in when throttling back and forth? I had a vkb nxt hosas setup, dampening performance went poor after 2-3month, tried re-grease and swap springs but the dampening effect didn't perform the same like when I first using it, so I sold it and now I wanna make a comeback, but definitely need your opinion first before buying it. You would attach a new slightly longer spring to connect the y axis to the frame instead of the other other arm, that way when you move it forward, it stays because that lever arm isn't connected to anything, but when you pull it back out goes back to center because the spring is still connected to the corresponding lever.

    Is it possible to use the twist (Z) axis as throttle?

    • @FalconsLedge
      @FalconsLedge  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's possible to use any axis as a throttle. I wouldn't like that scenario since 1. It's a spring centered axis without a reasonable way to use it unsprung and 2. It's a very short throw

    • @FalconsLedge
      @FalconsLedge  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the only sticks/throttles that work that way anymore is Logitech. That is a very ancient way of doing things. Secondly, the x52 stick is the worst part of the pair, I would upgrade that first. The throttle can operate without the stick, but not the other way around
