    Just bought one for 140 bucks, upgrading from a keyboard and a PS2 controller strapped to my chair with a cord and a tablet with Touch Portal which I have to see through an oculus quest 1. That's a very good review !!! Honestly , I don't know to who this device intended to. It looks like a prototype to me (Heavy, pully outside etc) . pricing is very high if you consider it's only one small part in the big chain - only the base (no stick). if you consider you have to get collective , throttle, pedals etc... (PC/VR) spending 900 EU on a base is gonna be for the enthusiasts / business. But when you understand actually what we need , you can defiantly see that we need a system that get's us full control for damping , springs, trimming and feedback. to get all of that in one package it's gonna be motors and electronics. you cannot do all of this with springs and cams. I will be waiting to see what the big guns will release soon, hopefully to see YOU compare them to that beast. I am referring to MOZA , Winwing. probably Virpil and VKB will enter the game also. don't know what Thrustmaster is doing. Pricing for Moza is already known for about 550$, so if it can do 70 percent from what that beast is doing - A lot of us mid range buyers will go that rout I believe. LOVE !

      @MrSpinkser 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Rhino and the Moza have virtually the same specs regarding max. torque. However the Rhino beats the Moza big time in regards to software and support (at least for now).

    • @FalconsLedge
      @FalconsLedge 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ShimonMaruani the Rhino is made by a single person, this is a production model, and the build quality is quite good. Expensive yes, but mass manufacturing will definitely help to bring the price down. Moza, and Winwing both have hardware that will likely rival the Rhino, but the software is the thing that for now will continue to set the Rhino apart. The Rhino is far ahead in this regard. I flew it for a couple days without the Rhino telemetry and it makes a HUGE difference.

    • @ShimonMaruani
      @ShimonMaruani 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@FalconsLedge You know in a way it is a good thing. if the hardware is good , and software lacking, it can only get better. especially when talking about large company with big resource. If the hardware lacks, it means I am stack with what I got and I have to replace it or find a way to upgrade. That Rhino is great, but it will need to get smaller and cheaper to compete , or it will stay positioned as a botiuqe level product - and it is fine as well. as a consumer, I am holding all buying for bases, I was looking for good cyclic option as I main choppers. The CM3 I believe is the best for it. but the current state is that force feedback is the the futer. I don't need to use springs and cams, to open and re adjust. Just move a slider. and I can switch between platforms easy. If want to play chopper and switch to F16 - I will probably have to buy two bases. Any way MOZA and Winwing I hope you read it - SEND HIM TEST UNITS !!!! cheers

    @EndersVRcade 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

    @Falconsledge, I had found your channel to be the most valuable and comprehensive and the ones before deciding to purchase my VKB dual stick setup. I agree that Ursa Minor does have a great value position relative to the other options for its price - on the surface level. I’ve only owned the T16k duo plus TWCS previously). However, I am tremendously disappointed that while you did mention the aspect of this device being a copy of the VKB in your previous review and now in this ranking of devices, you have twice had an opportunity to educate your audience that you are recommending Ursa Minor to while quite frankly sidestepping the ethical issue inherent to its existence. It is a shame really since no one who received this device from Winwing does anything more than shrug their shoulders or say they won’t address what is obviously intellectual property theft in the form of gimbal, clutches, and omnithrottle adapter, the latter two thefts which I don’t recall being mentioned in either of your reviews. Sure, you make the argument that you can’t quantify what is theft in this case. However you have reviewed this device twice now without truly giving a full picture of its value, which is that of a rip off compared to yes, a more expensive product, that features, also unquantifiable values exceptional, user repairability, service, and community. You are ultimately making a qualified judgement of its value based on your overall opinion after all and not merely reading off a specs sheet. I had higher hopes for you because your reviews are usually so thorough and comprehensive. I think with great viewership and free gear comes great responsibility and you should at least inform the viewers you recommend this product to, so they can truly make a fully informed decision.

    • @FalconsLedge
      @FalconsLedge 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@EndersVRcade first and foremost, I am a hardware reviewer, not an ethics judge. That isn't going to change, I judge devices based on their capabilities, quality and design. I will not take sides in a dispute that could possibly be entirely legal. I still would not get involved if it isn't legal, that isn't for me to decide. Secondly I believe Winwing acquired the molds, likely from the manufacturer. Why do I believe this? There are a couple few ways to copy something like this. One way would be a "caliper copy" where you take the measurements of a device and recreate its form and function. I'm that case the device would closely resemble a product but parts, this is not that. It is recreated to the point of interchangeability. Not only that, the manufacturing marks are identical. This indicates that Winwing probably acquired the molds for the product, modified them for their use. I spoke to someone involved in manufacturing relativeky recently that was included in manufacturing parts (not for joysticks) in China. He said this is a pretty common activity, and typically a legal one in China. He also mentioned that if they had broken the law it would've been quite easy to block their import to the US and EU. Now that I've dove into something that really isn't my concern, my goal with this channel is to get people the best hardware they can get with their money. This goal does not include getting involved in or taking sides in battles between manufacturers. I am not on team winwing, nor am I on team VKB,or Team Virpil. I call it how I see it. I gave my audience the facts, told them how the device performs, and left the rest up to them. In this price category, the Winwing Ursa is by far the best device available, and the absolute bang for your buck king in this category. The gladiator isn't in this category. It will compete in the mid range. Finally, my personal feelings on the legal side of this issue is not something I share, just like I didn't take sides in the flicon thing, personal feelings on legal issues is just not what this channel is about. I appreciate you sharing your opinion on the subject, and I respect that it is yours and there is nothing wrong with disagreement. I appreciate your viewership, regardless of whether or not it continues, I hope you have an awesome time flying, I hope you enjoy your VKB hardware, and also have a great day.

    • @EndersVRcade
      @EndersVRcade 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for your thorough reply. I could quote different points and precedents about legality, but that was never what I stated as my concern. You are of course welcome to create content however you wish, but I stopped watching Noobifier when he covered Filicon with a similar statement of taking an amoral approach to reviewing and recommending products, so I will be doing the same with yours.

    • @FalconsLedge
      @FalconsLedge 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@EndersVRcade Chinese legal precedents? That does matter, and again, if this was something VKB could take legal action in, I assure you, they would've. It's not an amoral stance, it's the fact that this isn't my business. I'm not in the business of judging companies on their ethical practices. I'm in the business of analyzing hardware. If you came here for moral stands, you came to the wrong place, sorry.

      I'm from Brazil as well and my advice for you is, if you are short on money, it's not reasonable to invest like ~R$2500 (roughly US$450) in this shitty outdated x56 hotas which is sold from a company that isn't even focused on making flight simulation peripherals (they bought Saitek, the original manufacturer of the x56, and later rebranded it to Logitech). I mean, their mouses, keyboards and stuff are OK, but when it comes down to gaming oriented systems, they really lack quality and stand way behind companies that actually care for the simulation market, like Winwing as mentioned, or VKBSim, another outstanding brand. If you don't want to waste your money on bad quality outdated stuff, and don't have enough money to spend on more expensive top-tier HOTAS like Virpil or Winwing, I suggest buying the VKB Gladiator NXT Evo stick first, and then saving for the VKB STECS throttle later on. VKBSim has an official store in Aliexpress from their China branch, and don't be fooled by thinking that it's fake or poor quality just because it's manufactured in China (as most people joke about). Winwing is also chinese and is one of the best rated rigs amongst the hardcore gamers, and VKB is no different in this sense. As of now (08/2024), the VKB Gladiator NXT Evo costs R$973,28 (~US$175) + shipping costs of ~R$150 (~US$27) + importation taxes (which you may get if you are unlucky, but seems they are charging somewhere inbetween R$200 - 300).

    Hey! Thank you very much for your videos on sim hardware. I really appreciated the tour of the internals of the WarBRD-D and CM-3 you gave in your Initial Impressions video, as seeing the engineering behind a product, and being able to estimate product longevity and amount of abuse it can take is a primary decision point for me. And you have created the most in depth analysis videos on the engineering of the gimbals you review that I have seen so far. Sincere thank you! A question that remains for me is whether the cable connecting the PCB's and the joystick is replaceable, or soldered to the PCB or joystick connector (both for the WarBRD-D and CM-3). As you have raised the point of the cable potentially being a failure point in one of your earlier videos, and I tend to agree. If that cable is replaceable in the CM-3, it appears to me that the CM-3 is currently the most robust gimbal out there. Would you agree with this assessment?

    • @FalconsLedge
