You forgot one good side of constantly picking locust swarm, aside from the laser gator, it's that with every patch that comes out you get the joy of seeing it geting buffed, which is always a pleasure. Every time it still sucks, but it feels good to see what i'm using getting buffed
Tartarian Gate is one of the few God powers I was really hoping for a complete and total rework. It was arguably the worst God power in the game in Titans, in EE and still holds that spot in Retold. Plus Lampades aren't that good either. Going Hekate, ever, is almost always a grief pick for yourself. What I would like to see is Tartarian Gate changed to instead spawn hellhounds under your control, but can only spawn a limited number of them before the gate crumbles on itself.
I think the main issue is that it has HP and therefore can (theoretically) be around all game long, or for 20 seconds. How do you balance something like that? It can be just enough to drive your opponent insane over time or something they crush almost immediately It's also age 4... it would be a fantastic age 3 power
This is a good tier list! Glad you have people from different civs giving input. Sure it causes a longer run time but the people that play the game will sit through it don’t worry man😂
I agree with you (I'd go A/B, not S. I still think Dwarven Mine, Prosperity, Deconstruction and probably Bolt are better in 1v1). I will fight harder for Vision in the next one.
Rain should just get a complete rework: Big targeted area where it rains. Boost farm gains like it does now, add fishing gains, and add a slow for enemy units in it's aoe. (this way you can use it defensively vs early raids)
Rain is the worse by far, it doesn't block god powers in retold, its the only god power that benefits enemies, forces you to go for Ptah and in maps with fish you will likely not even have farms to cast it on. And Ra can't avoid this god power like you can with the other bad ones
Yeah we didn't notice the Retold changelog on Rain during the video. Interestingly, it does also give a 50% boost to woodcutting. Unfortunately, that is basically useless for Ra as well.
@@LowsmithAOM-Retold the 50% wood boost is from extended edition and ported to retold, but it still don't do justice. IMO they should just lower the bonus to enemy to 50% and increase the gather rate on berry bushes as well, that way it'll be beneficial even at archaic

@@globalstory8318 completely agree, I’ve been playing nothing but Norse. We missed the Gullinbursti image, but I put that GP at high B, low A, what do you think?
@@LowsmithAOM-Retold It's like this, for those that haven't caught up what it does. It's a unique Power to Freyr and when invoked on the player's own or an ally's Town Center, it summons the giant golden boar of Freyr, which will guard the Town Center. Much like the Dwarven Mine from Thor, Higher Age increases in its elements such as HP and Power. I'd say it's a High B Tier for the first 3 Ages and Low A Tier if we take into account that Age IV and Age V it goes well over 1,000 HP. It is treated as a Hero unit which means it's also effected by Forge Upgrades, as well as Freyr's Gift and Nine Waves (Aegir). Much like every other God Power, it has its own cons and the one for this one is that the Unit is slow and gets progressively slower the further away it is from a Town Center. I suppose it all depends on what kind of Utility a Player is asking from it. When I play Freyr, I nearly always go down the unique Route, so Ullr, Aegir and Vidar.
just commented on the reddit post, i love forest fire it and think it's sufficiently strong (damaging vills while you are raiding with rc/valk)😁 but i will not say no to a buff
I still very often go forest first because of how insanely strong the Valkyrie is early, but if I could take Asgardian Bastion, Undermine, or Healing Springs with the Valkyrie, I would take one of those every game over forest fire. Thanks for watching and providing input.
For personal flavor I wish Asgardian Bastion was replaced with Walls of Asgard a self-building Fortified wall with low recast. WTF where's Gullinbursti?!?
ragnarök is not game ender. ragnarök is for expanding map. u gotta use it very very late like 20 to 25 mins. cuz u know u can spam army non stop with that huge amount of gatherer and dwarves to hold game and get fully army upgrades and tons of ox caravans then ur good to go. push ur opponent back build tons of military buildings step by step win fight lose rag heroes for it and if u get 1 more town centers it pays back that the only god power we use for 1 town center guarantee and its changes everything.Especially thor ragnarök with unique armory upgrade is perfect
Even though Ragnarok is insanely strong, it is still only 1 of 2 mythic age God Powers that harms yourself in some way (like Tartarian can). That's why I don't think I can give it S tier, it does have direct downside on your economy.
Vortex in D? You have not felt the absolute horror of 30 hero fanatics teleporting right on your army and have said army turn into sushini by a group of rabid atlanteans Its also the most morale crushing GP when you vortex in and surround an SoO and promptly murder him, more soul crushing than Ancestors+Eclipse id wager
@@martinmarzano1523 yeah after a lot of comments about Vortex specifically (and its recastability) we definitely put it too low. The main reason we did is because we almost never seen Atlanteans against us take it, but that could be because of the rest of the minor god tech, not vortex specifically
idk man, if you are a top 1% of players you have more value with the lightning chicken (SOO) than you will with vortex which does literally nothing in a 1v1 tournament game. lightning storm does win you a fight. SOO can win you 5 fights with correct micro and garrison ungarrison stuff. He also destroys Nidhog with his divine dmg. so he has to be at least B tier. The fact that you can eventually get 2 of them in the super late game which Egypt can reach easly with their sick economy makes you literally unkillable.

A measly 5% increase to wood gathering doesn't seem like it should place above the 80% gold boost from Prosperity, or the 10-75% boost the dwarven mine gives you. Even Rain gives 50% woodcutting bonus. The walling of choke points is good, but I haven't really seen it have a big effect on games.

You fall behind for you do not get anything at first and Rain does not simply have enough value to get that back aside from getting ahead... especially an early farm transition needs the ressources for farm at first in addition. The only chance for Rain that i see would be , if its buffs friendly farms but debuffs enemy ones... you know flooded fields are bad for the crop... and it would fit... else nono
U forgot the god power I was most interested to hear you opinion on.
@@at3649 torch of gaslighting?
@@at3649 AH SHIT HOW DID WE FORGET THE BOAR
@@at3649 I play a lot of Freyr too so this is embarrassing. I’d only put it B tier tho. It can be really helpful on defense, but it moves so slow if it gets too far from your TC
@@LowsmithAOM-Retold Solid A imo.
Best use cases imo: Against A/E if you`re in heroic as well and if you get a grasp on your enemys second tc in mythic it`s able to end games.
And even if your enemy just falls back for the time it lasts, it provides a lot of time to reproduce
Recast cost makes me sad.....
Rain does not actually block other god powers in Retold, as far as I can tell. Tested it against the AI, cast it within the first few seconds of the game and the Hades AI still put down Sentinels during the duration of Rain. The wiki actually notes this change didn't edit the text at the top of the page. To F tier it goes!
Yep, we didn't notice till after the video. Kind of interesting it also gives Ra 50% woodcutting boost, but that is also useless for Egyptians. I agree on F, probably D in team games
@@LowsmithAOM-Retold50% woodcutting boost if it’s not given to the opponent would actually be pretty insane for water maps. You auto win the age 2 dock duel.
Always been a Norse player, I absolutely Love Freyr.
@@globalstory8318 completely agree, I’ve been playing nothing but Norse.
We missed the Gullinbursti image, but I put that GP at high B, low A, what do you think?
@@LowsmithAOM-Retold
It's like this, for those that haven't caught up what it does.
Actually would be a pretty cool god power
ragnarök is not game ender. ragnarök is for expanding map. u gotta use it very very late like 20 to 25 mins. cuz u know u can spam army non stop with that huge amount of gatherer and dwarves to hold game and get fully army upgrades and tons of ox caravans then ur good to go. push ur opponent back build tons of military buildings step by step win fight lose rag heroes for it and if u get 1 more town centers it pays back that the only god power we use for 1 town center guarantee and its changes everything.Especially thor ragnarök with unique armory upgrade is perfect
Even though Ragnarok is insanely strong, it is still only 1 of 2 mythic age God Powers that harms yourself in some way (like Tartarian can). That's why I don't think I can give it S tier, it does have direct downside on your economy.
Btw best god power combo is thor's bragi flaming weapons and baldr's ragnarök 5 x stronger then eclipse and ancestors :D
This is true, but it is also Mythic/Heroic vs Heroic/Classical. Ancestors/Eclipse is much easier to consistently get to each game.
@@LowsmithAOM-Retold i dont trust minions personally sorry :D But youre right 2nd ant 4th age god power combo vs 2nd and 3rd thats not fair ^^
Anxiously awaiting for the Atlantean players to roast us...
Vortex in D?
You have not felt the absolute horror of 30 hero fanatics teleporting right on your army and have said army turn into sushini by a group of rabid atlanteans
Its also the most morale crushing GP when you vortex in and surround an SoO and promptly murder him, more soul crushing than Ancestors+Eclipse id wager
In theory I agree... but I have watched a lot of the top 100 players playing Egyptians (20+ games this last week), and NO ONE opts into SOO, so clearly they don't think its that good. The last time I saw SOO was at Red Bull Wololo and it wasn't particularly impressive there either.
@@LowsmithAOM-Retold there is an argument that tier lists should not be made around top 1% of players anyways. But instead for the average player which supports your point even more.
So they put son of osiros D tier and lightening C tier my two best option fir me both are S tier
I wish SOO was S tier :(. He just doesn't do enough right now.
We did learn the wiki is wrong for Lightning storm. It is no longer capped at 2850 damage, which would move it up for me in the next round on this topic.
@@LowsmithAOM-Retold i think he became stronger since u can do more than one in this version of the game two can destroy a whole army easily u should talk about the ability of doing it more than once
Did someone say "WAY too in-depth?"

Going to have to test this... does it damage units in buildings?
I have been trying to test total damage of Mythic age god powers in the editor, but it keeps crashing after I cast the 2nd one.
@@LowsmithAOM-Retold no , but if there arent units in the area it goes for buildings and its enough to delete a castle... not sure so if theyve nerved it since release patch
Greek generates a lot of favor so the prices are not that high
@@welersoncarvalho2471 they are still on average double or triple the cost to cast most god powers
You aren’t wrong but keep in mind you have to allocate villagers to do so which no other civilization has to - meaning your blocking that part of your workforce off for favor instead of resources.
150/200/300 favor recasts after one use is quite expensive
Wherr is gullenbrusti
We missed it :( - it will be in the remake when we do this again in a few patches
Nah putting gaias forest anywhere but S tier invalidates this list, you can use it as a defensive wall as well as get increase wood gather rate
Can tell you’re a low elo player by these picks. Ceasefire C tier? What in the hell are you thinking
Oh its pretty simple! I am thinking that the God powers we ranked above ceasefire are better than it, and the God Powers that are ranked below ceasefire are worse than it. Hope that helps!

Great Hunt gives +600 food not 800
Yeah they patched it down from 800 to 600 a day or two before we recorded this. Muscle memory took over
Carnivora is underrated.
After having casted games using it a few times since making this video, I agree. I still think it's only B tier tho
Rain is F Tier for the exact reasons mentioned
We make a mistake on rain for sure, it deserves to be in F tier, I was thinking about it and a good change to rain might be upon cast the user receives 2-3 farms near there town centers. Would balance the use early on and allow for single player benefit while everyone is getting the farm buff
@@JayEmps thats also a nice idea from a balancing point of view... not sure if there is a mythological explanation for it so... on the other Hand im not sure why Rain is a god power for Ra anyways, so who cares
Just checked it out... Ra is the god of sky of course , and yeah rain comes from the sky... but its pretty far fetched, honestly i do npt really have a nice idea for an Age 1 Spell either
Restoration is A LOT weaker than in Titans... its ok but it does not really heal more than a priest... its aoe... but its not like Titans... Bronze has lots more impact

Plenty’s might offer you some more value in team games if you can get to the wonder age but in 1v1s I don’t see you getting to that point. Having a lighting storm, earthquake, or another god power can completely win you a final push compared to that trickle of resource which doesn’t give that much impact
greek not that strong especially if u playing against norse u economicly f ed up :D yeah ur army stronger but norse can build tons of great hall and long house so they can spam units. greek cant win that economic fight against no one. Have you not played the game before making this video? How can u get stuff like the rain blocking god powers wrong? I would think that if you have the confidence to make video's about something, you would have known or researched some of these very basic things.
With over 50 God Powers and most of them changing, we were bound to make a mistake. Even the wiki is wrong on a lot of these god powers.
