    Sounds like a perfect first electric skateboard for me personally, coming from old school kicktail back in college days during the early 90s. I don't plan on riding 10+ miles, just for when I don't feel like driving and want to go grab some beer, a pack of cigarette, some groceries, or get a haircut all less than 2miles from home.

      I’m right there with you! I have 5 boards in my collection currently. All long boards except for this one. Definitely prefer the long boards when I’m going to go out and just ride for fun, but the mini comes out the most for daily errands, walking my dog, and just short rides when I don’t feel like putting my full face helmet on. So nice to have options.

    another good review , I enjoy getting your opinions on specific areas of the boards depending on what you are using it for , interesting about the sore leg from longer rides , assume its cause you gas it constantly, look forward to seeing some wheelies in future vids . My personal opinion is it would be good to do some of your video while out riding and or different locations around your area , ride safe

    • @esk8mafia200
      @esk8mafia200  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for tuning in as always!! Appreciate the support. The sore leg is just due to it being a short board. And I’m very tall to it’s probably not made for people my size haha. I did not get it to ride long distances anyways. I take it to walk my dog, go to the store, go to a local restaurant.. things like that. I have other boards I take out on long rides, I just did the range test for the sake of this video. Wanted to let you guys know what to expect. I will def start changing up the background scenery! I’m only living at the beach another 6 weeks so I’m going to get as much footage here as I can for the time being lol. Then off to some off-road trails and bike paths wherever I move next!! Again appreciate the consistent support! Have a good one bro!

    • @esk8mafia200
      @esk8mafia200  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re right I did not get into a direct comparison. Honestly I love both boards. The boosted has a nostalgic feel to me that I haven’t been able to replace with any other board. With that being said the modern day tech and the overall build quality on the exway are better. Unless you just wanted a boosted for the sake of having one, the exway is the way to go IMO.

  • @RichardIngalls

    I'm old skool (skated in the 80's-90's) and this short board looks a lot like the boards we skated back then (10x30). This board looks like a lot of fun! Now I'm having a hard time deciding on what should be my first esk8 board: long board or short? I live in a very rural setting, so I'm thinking a longboard that is all terrain is a better fit for my current situation. You recommended the Backfire Hammer for that - but I can't find one anywhere right now. But this little Exway Wave looks FUN! And it's less expensive than a big ol' AT longboard. Decisions, decisions...

    • @esk8mafia200
      @esk8mafia200  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unless you have a lot of super smooth pavement I would definitely recommend a long board. The backfire zealot S, as well as the backfire hammer are great options. Also take a look at the beast board viper and the Propel Endeavor. Either way you can’t lose. All e-boards are amazing. Just get a belt driven board and avoid hub motors.

      I am 6 ft 5 inches with big feet so it does look small 😂😂 I love the challenger too. The deck is beautiful. You can get over 20 miles range on this Wave if you use the easily swappable battery. Still brings the price in a lot cheaper than the Challenger.

      @eBoard3R 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the Ownboard M1 belt mini and the Meepo Mini 2 hub both have bigger batteries, largest on a mini/shortboard at 288Wh. Worth lookin into. Challenger isn't terrible but it is overpriced as its an "esk8 celebrity" hypebeast board. In reality the Challenger's true retail price should be a few hundred $ lower as it uses just standard hobbywing electronics, no customisation and no company R&D.

    Good review as always the board seems like a nice ride I ride a normal cruiser board all the time about 27 Inc its fun usually when I go short distances and at slow speeds . Only reason I'd buy this is for the quick swappable battery's but since I ride along time and my area is not the best I'll just stick with longboards. But maybe one day I'll buy one they do look more sketchy at faster speeds and the fact there more smaller and you can go places a long board can't thats cool anyway have a nice day keep shredding

      @esk8mafia200  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Ya bro the long boards are without a doubt a better option, but once you get a few long boards you start to want something different just to switch it up! I think that’s where this board fits in. And if you’re like me and enjoy just riding around in parking lots then a short board is a great fit for that too. I love the swappable battery, but I honestly don’t use it often. 10+ miles is more than enough for this little thing lol. My feet are hurting after about 5. Always appreciate your support!

    Shortboards are underrated. They’re perfect for cities, have possibility to make some tricks and much less boring IMO.

    Exway Wave vs Miles Phantom which is better~~~!!! ???
    Help me Out
    I feel like Phantom is more stable to Ride. isn't it?
    which board is more narrow for feet stand ?
    I alredy have a Exway Wave Riot but..
    i feel it's too heavy and it's too narrow between Front wheels and Back wheels which makes me unstable and anxious more.
    when starts go or instant stop, it feels not safty.
    but this Phantom looks little bit longer between front wheels and back wheels which may can be more stable to ride.
    and also it has stairs which can hold my feets well.
    Anybodys opinion? ⚡💖

    • @esk8mafia200
      @esk8mafia200  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not had a chance to ride the phantom, but I love that way it looks and am very very intrigued by the board. If you’re looking for something super stable then you’ll want a board with a stiff deck. That will help a lot with stability. The wave is probably not the right choice for you if you want maximum stability. It is a smaller board so you will really feel the acceleration and braking when using it. Miles phantom is probably more stable than the exway wave, but I would recommend looking at something completely different. I have currently been riding the wowgo AT2 and it is very stable, has a drop down deck like the phantom, and has a longer wheel base for added stability. It is also not as powerful acceleration wise, which makes it smoother when riding. It is also a fantastic board and I think it is a very fair price. Check it out. Maybe it’ll work for you. As for wave vs phantom based on what you’re saying you want I think the phantom might make more sense.
