  • In today's video, I take my first ride on video with the Exway Ripple! This new shortboard is Exway's latest release, sporting a flight-safe battery, a minuscule 13lb weight, and a very affordable price.
    Inside the Exway Ripple, we have a LingYi esc, which is a new feature for Exway, as they usually utilize the Hobbywing speed controllers. With a 99wh battery, you won't be going super far, but it's more fun than I expected. The 75mm hub motors offer a small amount of comfort, and a small amount of power, but they will definitely get you across campus a couple miles.
    I'm not really a skater, so I'm going to reach out to my local eskate group and find a "real skater" that can do some fun tricks on the Ripple, and show off those capabilities in the Mini-Review!

    So happy to see smaller 75mm hub motors at last!
    Definitely better for short boards compared to 90mm ones

      Yeah it's quite interesting. I've nver ridden ones this small, and I expected them to be worse, but they ain't bad.

    Great review, as always; this would be great to take as a last mile or traveling. I like the smallness factor and weight. Reminds me of my Loaded Omakase with the revel kit but 8 lbs lighter; of course, I have the extended range batt. A 144wh battery is 219 dollars if you can even buy them, so you can buy this board for an extra 130 dollars. Love the idea of kick pushing and kicking up front over cracks. If you did, a combination of regular kick push to the motor would definitely be fun and more range. I have got around 14 miles on Revel with kick-pushing combined.

      You pretty much nailed it on the head here, it is a very unique and interesting offering. However, the range is miniscule, after doing my range test on my standard route, I only got 5.13 miles haha.
      Deck is comfy tho for a shortboard, and I like it better than the deck on the Wave

    I recently got this one for college commuting, I like it so much better than my wave (riot). Although I miss my customizable wheels on the riot, this board is lighter and a lot more discrete which I like. And it looks like a regular board as well.

      Nice! It's definitely a convenient board for short commutes since it's so light and portable. I would have loved to use this when I was at college.

    *Nice to see you on a mini eboard*

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's my second one technically but I really haven't spent a lot of time on the wave. Most of my commutes and rides are too long for boards like these. Would have been awesome at college though

      @@RBEMotion My roads are a little rough but not super rough so I can usually do about 6 miles on a mini at a toms, I've done more but prefer a longer deck for anythin 7miles+. More is doable on a mini but less practical.
      They are ridiculously fun though, especially with lower degree angle trucks

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eBoard3R Yeah, I can see what you mean. This one is super carvy with a low top speed, so you can easily just go straight up to speed without wobbling. Fun to kick turn too

    Nice review. Exway also listed a bigger battery option at launch, which has since disappeared. I am never getting on an airplane with it, but I would have used it as a last mile board, having it in the trunk of my car or as a city board. If exway offer it with a bigger battery and an optional cloudwheel clones. I might be tempted to buy it.

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  ปีที่แล้ว

      Having a larger battery would certainly be a good option for a lot of people. Initial impressions are that it may get about 7 miles of flat ground cruising. Guess we'll see if it comes back

    Hey i just got mine today . I didnt know these can be taken on airplanes. So can you carry on or does it have to go through checked baggage?

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You'd need to carry it on in the passenger compartment, and would likely want to put it in the overhead bin. Be sure to check your specific airline rules!

    oh man these boards still look like first gen product with low power motors. Not even quad motors. I think these are for noobs and that cant handle a real skating experience..
    Liked the kick tail at first but its not really useful for anything other than manual turning with that snaltiny tail curve and board mass.

    • @RBEMotion
      @RBEMotion  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can see why you'd think that. It's a small board that's low powered. You can do skate tricks on it if you wish, and you can't ride it very far. It's super lightweight and can be taken on a plane - BUT a lot of people don't care about most of those things.
      For me, it has its place but it's not one that I'll ride all the time.
