Texas Trout Fishing- Best Places and Bait to Fish the Warren Sport Complex for Easy Limits!

In February, the Texas Parks and Wildlife stocks rainbow trout in some of the local lakes around DFW. Although deadsticking is in full swing and we are catching some nice striper, I can never resist taking the girls out to the lake to chase the rainbow!
Last time we fished this lake we were skunked so my gameplan was to see who was catching fish and set up in that part of the lake. My buddy Imran pointed me in the right direction and we set up in the corner casting into deep water. Since I had the girls with me, we ran our typical 2 hook bottom rig and found out pink was the hot color. With our 6lb test and weights we were able to cast to the middle of the pond where the trout were schooling. We caught fish and had a bite about every 15 seconds pretty consistently and were able to easily catch our three person limit…
If you want to try the lake, they stocked 4000 trout so there should be some left for a few more days although you may want to try worms or another natural bait soon!
