Insane Lake Texoma Striper Trip and Trying out Catch the Fever Rods!

Steve Ford from Ford’s Guide Service and I headed out to Texoma to catch some striper. At the boat ramp we ran into Josh Sutton from Southern Wind Guide Service. We headed off in two different directions. Steve and I tried a couple of spots and had just boated a nice box fish (less than 20”) when Josh called and said he found a hungry school. We headed over to meet him and the bite was on! We started catching fish right away! The thumper stacked fish under the boat and sometimes we caught fish on each of the 5 rods we were using.
During this trip, we were able to try out the Catch the Fever Rods that I purchased recently. I first tried them in SC while fishing with Joe Dennis from Father Son Outdoors TV and J Hook Guide Service. These rods are amazing with superflexible, unbreakable tips, aluminum rod seats and ceramic free eyes. We were both impressed with how sensitive the rods were and how strong the backbones were!
Key tips from the video:
1. If you are seeing fish on your graph but not catching them, move!
2. We were seeing fish from 10’ to 40’ so used freelined bait to cover the top of the water column and weights to get the deeper fish.
3. We use multiple rods to catch multiple fish at the same time, sometimes striper will drift in and out and this gives you the ability to catch several fish from the school
