Trying to keep it simple is so hard for me LOL. Took the kiddos out to the lake over the weekend and forgot all our tackle and powerbait in the truck. All we had were a cast masters and rooster tails that were already on our poles. What a day it was! Kids hammered the fish. A good reminder for me to pack light. You don’t need to bring the entire arsenal all the time!😂
Major tip, if you are fly fishing or using a spinner rod and flies as bait. Stay away from the shore and fish the shore before you walk next to the water and scare the fish
Had a bright orange shirt on and caught a 3lb rainbow 2 weeks ago. Im blessed, West Virginia is stocking some big ones right now. Lol caught it on a night crawler on my bait rig while i was pitching joes flies on my ultra light. Ive got a ton of gear and i nail the biggest trout of my life on a worm.
I've only done little fishing in my life as a kid, ice never caught a fish bigger than the palm of my hand haha. but one thing i do is cook, i really want to catch rainbow trout to cook as it's expensive at the store! that and for the experience of course❤️ this is all so confusing and so much for me to take in haha.. i thought fishing was just throw bait on the water and wait i don't think I'll be able to understand this! i don't even know if i have trout in rivers or lakes near me
Temperature flip on a lake really?!?!🤣🤣🤣🤣 You literally don't understand physics!!!! heat rises!!!! Warm water isn't ever going to be deep in the water column whilst cold water is on the top..... Unless you have tornadoes or hurricanes or some other nonsense you shouldn't be fishing during in the first place!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 if the hot water's on the bottom and the cold waters on the top....You've got bigger things to worry about then what fly to use! 🤣
In a lake or pond in the fall the surface of the water column gets colder with radiation cooling and at some point will be colder than water below it and will actually sink due to heavier density. This is called turnover. How is that for your physics knowledge.
@@michaelwhelchel9004 water expands as it freezes to ice which makes it more buoyant. That's why it floats to the surface when it freezes. Every 32 feet of depth is another atmosphere of pressure, and these added pressures are exponential (earths gravitational pull being 32 feet per second per second, means it doubles after every 32 feet) so the depth of the water and its alkalinity will change its boiling and freezing temperatures, due to its change in density.
Every one of you is wrong. Water is most dense at ~39*F Ice doesn’t float because it’s frozen, it floats because it’s less dense than it was at 39*, and that same science is why the warmer water can be under the coldest water- that’s why lakes turn over. You guys and @manifesto8159 should’ve paid more attention in 6th grade physical science class.

That must have been an amazing day!
Best Trout tips on TH-cam 🎉👏
Wow, thanks!
I'm the guy who walks up to the lake with 4 rods a tackle bag and a bucket full of mixed up gear
I'm exactly the same
Dam I walk with two rods and ano a small tacklebox
I just launch the boat🤷♂️

Appreciate it thank you 🙏
thanks so much i realy hope this helps
"You're right, brother, just get to the point and fish. I love you
Run 4 lb braid to 2 lb clear line crazy cast distance
I use a ultra lite spinning reel with a 6lb test line with a 6 foot eagle claw lite pole
I wear bright colors all the time and it doesn’t deter 21” inch rainbow. Never an issue.

I was wearing a tye dye green shirt out today and had trout jumping right next to me. Not so sure how true the color thing is.
That's funny 30 I only got one in my box but I'm a firer ball guy. I think I got a problem 20 different kinds I only use three 😵💫 wasting money.
🤠 great tips, great information and great video. tight lines

3:30 technically trout _are_ salmon. They're just landlocked and not oceangoing.
no they're not, different species in the same family
Kokanee
Rainbows are salmonids not salmon, landlocked or otherwise
@@fishhuntadventure and mules aren't horses, but they're still cousins.
Are silver and gold spinners and spoons ok thats the only stuff i have going fishing on the 14th the fish are really picky there

What is your #1 rig you use for trout
My #1 is the plunking setup with the sliding weight
I have a dozen colors of powerbait .and I only use two
what's the other color?
Structure and cover are two different things. You are talking cover, not structure. Otherwise good tips
Soyjak this guy
I have a problem
I've got over 150 jars of powerbait
therapy is later this week! LOL. tight lines!
Lol that's a lot. I've got some from 2 years a go. Does it go bad?
@@WillyFishkeep them poles bent!
I Have almost every bait on TH-cam

hey just curious... What happens if water drops below 33°? 🤔
