I've been driving this for 6 months, and it's an amazing car. My only complaints about trim -- I wish there were less black plastic on the exterior. It's very hard to keep it shiny. Luckily, there is very little to no black plastic inside the cabin. That's not true for its sister vehicles, the Ioniq and EV6. I don't actually mind the rear spoiler cutting the rear window in half. I like the styling outside, and for me, when driving at night, that spoiler is in the perfect spot to block the headlights of the car behind me so I don't get blinded.
The drawer storage bin is actually not a bad idea. Same here, I had a shop break the dash pot on my truck storage bin when checking the air filter, and the first time I opened the bin, it slammed down and whacked the crap out of my knee.
@@duncanevenson4621 I wish someone would have popped the frunklid so we could see. So far, none of the three Munro reviews of the GV-60 have done that.
Carl, I’m all about Tesla. However, watching Munro vids for years now and focusing on this in particular, what do you think about Tesla introducing some of the comfort features (i.e., real leather, perforated/cooled seats w/massage, etc.) into their M3 and Y models as “premium” levels? Do you think they could pull it off and profit? Or, should they stick to minimalistic w/focus on tech?
I drive a GV60 base level trim. It‘s a really, really nice car. Very comfortable, the massaging and self adjusting seats are wonderful. Roomy enough. Excellent performance. Good enough handling. Excellent ergonomics, reasonably responsive and intuitive infotainment. Physical buttons for HVAC. Poor visibility to the rear, no rear windshield wiper, good camera view makes up for it. If you can get a good lease deal, go for it.
I tell my friends to buy any electric car they want as long as they don't plan on traveling with it... But if they plan on traveling the only option is a Tesla.
@@TheMadmax0609 Based on my experience in Germany I can only respectfully disagree. I‘ve had absolutely no range anxiety issues. Plenty of quick charging available. The Genesis website currently shows a RWD version of the GV60, starting at $52k and rated at 294 mile EV range. I don't think that this was previously available and I do not see any available in stock anywhere at the moment. In RWD, it seems like a good deal to me, especially compared to it's cousins (lower price than Kia EV6 GT-Line trim or Hyundai Ioniq5 Limited trim). I think that the GV60 is priced correctly but the EV6 is probably priced too high.

Great insight to this car , I have had my GV60 for 17 months 34K km / 21K miles love the car the only thing I wish they could have done was have a manual override switch for the precondition instead of going through the nav system . I did a lot of research before I bought my first EV and Genesis in my mind have got it right a lot of car for the money.
Give Big Carl a raise. and put him on more videos. his brief explanation on panel gaps showing hidden point problems revealed his own hidden talent on exteriors, that is to say hidden by putting him mostly and comfortably on interiors.
Drove this at the Fully Charged show test drives. I loved the car, but my wife sat in the back, and was travel sick in a 15 min test drive. I loved the rotating ball, and the massaging seat.
@ 5:54 That panel gap at the top of the right front wheel looks bad where the hood meets the gray fender flair wheel trim. It's narrower towards the front and widens towards the rear of that foot long section, unless its the camera angle causing that look. When you see the drivers side @ 6:27, that side looks even.
The 26L frunk bin that you show (and appears to be the same as the Ioniq 5) is ridiculously small but I can tell you that the 54L, available for RWD on Ioniq 5, costs 250USD. It cost me twice that much to have it shipped from Korea, but the end result is a usable frunk for my RWD Long Range. Love it.

Get a Tesla. All software upgrades and recall fixes are done remotely through your home wireless FOR Free!! The BMW battery thing is environmental responsibility gone a little too far … and I tend to side with environmental responsibility. Considering how few of these they've sold since they've been on sale for like a year.. I think most people agree.. not worth the extra $$ in total.
If the motor breaks for the gear selector, you just rotate it manually and it will click into the usable position. It's described in the owner's manual. The electronic parking brake also has a manual override switch.
@@holycrapchris makes sense.. Hyundai's engineers would have had some redundancy built in.
MUNRO live - Ummmm, the GV60 lacks Performance , lacks Handling (Track, Canyons), BAD road trip car, lacks Efficiency .
the BOOST mode DIES after only 5 seconds .
and GV60 is just to DAMN Heavy & Inefficient.
The glass orb thing hiding the shifter is one of the most ridiculous unnecessary features which could fail or jam with foreign objects.
I agree it's absurd
IMO requires a backup redundancy, similar to Tesla, should screen or crystal ever fail
Good value? Yes. Higher battery degradation compared to the industry average? Not so great. They're up there with GM and Nissan in battery degradation.
It’s still a Hyundai 😊😂
And?

@@TaduuuuMaybe the pre 2016 Hyundai. They got the best designers now.
@@ryansmithc I hope so but I’m still skeptical with all the problems they are having
Exactly! Just had my 2023 GV80 Prestige bought back after 2100 miles after spending three months in genesis repair including a complete transmission replace and continued additional problems, noises and more. We wed also feared aweful by both genesis and the dealar.
Do not buy a luxury car from a low budget manufacturer that does not care; going back to Land Rover / my Range Rover has never failed me and they treat me like I bought a 90k$ car.
MUNRO live - GV60 is an Embarrassment , its not COST conscious at all.
lots of wasted Opportunity for making cost Efficient.
and GV60 is not HIGH TECH Enough , its not a Smart car. its Computer HARDWARE is Crappy as is its Software.
"High Tech is the BEST Luxury" - ELON. and he is Correct.
TESLA model S/X is a High Tech SMART car, offers the BEST Luxury.
GV60 is built like a Conventional ICE car , but it has Electric motors & Batteries.
but , GV60 is not at all Efficient, its too HEAVY. Computer HARDWARE & Software is CRAPPY.
