It's great to see Hasbro trying with a figure and doing more than the bare minimum. I was on the fence about this since I don't really have a place for it, but I might grab one and start a retro Avengers display. The black smoke works a lot better with this old Iron Man armour than the other ones it's come with. I can buy this clunker emitting smoke, as opposed to the anniversary one or Ironheart.
10:26 Model 70 Iron Man on the right, I believe. And ngl, if they do an updated Iron Man 2 War Machine, it could be a dope modern comic War Machine since I think that suit appeared in the Secret Avengers comics
I just started collecting Marvel Legends figures and this year is the perfect year for me. I'm a hard core Avengers fan and wanted to build a great Avengers team. I so far have Model 70 Iron Man (that's the modern Iron Man that you didn't know the name of), Ultimate Captain America, and 20th Anniversary Hulk. Now I'm trying to get the Wakanda Forever Comic Black Panther, Controller wave Thor, The new Target exclusive Ant-Man and Hawkeye with sky cycle. Great video, this Iron Man is really cool looking.
The only improvements i think they couldve made to this guy is improved neck articulation for looking up, and if theyd painted to armor so we wouldnt have the marbleing. All in all though probably my favorite ironmam figure. I think the head size is accurate to the actual art so it doesnt really bother me that its a little small
Very nice figure of one of my favourite Iron Man armours. I always liked the clunky look. I can't wait for them to do the gold version of this. He made painted/coated it gold as it's grim grey appearance unnerved a young woman. I do agree the helmet looks too small and maybe the shoulders too. Another oddity is the boot jets. I don't think this armour could fly. He actually had roller skates on the boots to zip about and save energy.😀 They would've been a nifty accessory.
Thanks for the review Wade, its the only ML figure Ive preordered this year and thanks to your review I know it was the right decision. What an awesome fig.
Excellent figure and excellent review. I love it. Just a bit bigger would have been perfect but no biggie. Should have bad a Tony Stark head, but I have plenty and I feel most people getting this figure also have some they can use.
If Hasbro remakes any other version of Iron Man, I would love to see the New Avengers Modern Armor and throw in a Commander Rogers while they're at it.
I do want this Iron Man. He looks good(don't even mind the marbling). The helmet size is really noticeable next to other Iron Man figs. I'll get this but will probably only use it in Hall of Armor shots.
You do gotta admit that he looks dope and looks comic accurate despite the fact that he should have come with a Tony Stark head sculpt, Seeing this first armor in the 2008 Iron Man movie with the fun lovable Robert Downey Jr. was cool to experience in live action, Great review on this brand new model 1 Iron Man fig Wade
Me personally, I think the marbling is cool! It definitely isn’t for everyone, I understand why people don’t like it, but there’s just something about it that I like!
Way too noticable to me and it contrasts with the helmet paint. Luckily it shouldn't be too hard to repaint it but it sucks that that's needed in the first place
@@leanmeangreenbeanmachine3347 Apparently having an opinion makes you a liar lol. Well you’re going to think I’m the biggest liar of all time because check this out: I hate the way most Toybiz figures look because they have too much paint on them. It just looks sloppy and dirty
Some people hate marbling just bc of Shartimus, some people hate unpainted figures just bc of Anthony. If you isolate them from youtube and let them share their opnion, they probably won't know what to say cuz they don't have an opinion. 😂
Great video got me hyped for this figure. Just hope it ain't $50-$60 or I'll have to give it a hard pass... Off-topic: been noticing on all the TH-camrs reviewers I follow that they mention 'I got this and that but I can't find where it is' and can't help but think - is this collecting or hoarding..?
Hahahahah I guess it is a type of hoarding. I just can’t keep everything displayed so I have some of my older stuff in storage. I don’t keep everything but that Iron Man is awesome so he’s not going anywhere
Trust me, no amount of collecting/hoarding will compare to the amount of money we waste on other people and situations that end up long gone in the wind eventually. I prefer my financial mistakes to be tangible.
@@clhoundyou know what though It's definitely easier to get a hold of this stuff than it is to get rid of some of it. Unless you just plan to die and leave it someone else's problem 😬😬
It seems like Hasbro has a two-tier system. Ones they spend their money on, and don’t make anything on, and the cheapos that cost nothing and pay for the goodies. Some of the higher end ones being this, Dr. Strange, Lizard, etc. I kind of have shifted only to the dope ones, and try to pass on the shitters.
Honestly i dont like the scratches. If your gonna make this armor look like it was used either go all the way or dont do it. The half asses scratches contrast with the rest of the clean figure making it look slightly worse.
@@royal5922 I’d say it’s true tbh. I’m primarily a Hot Toys collector, so I find it a little funny when import 6-inch collectors act like their figures are super high quality and the best in the industry. It’s a little laughable from my perspective lol
@@juansanchez209 Very true! Hasbro, Mafex, Figuarts, Mezco, Mythic Legions...once you have all these figures in hand from different brands, you can def see and feel the quality of these builds. And I gotta say, dispaite Hasbro doing half-assed jobs on some of these releases, they are nailing it with sculpting and the articulation in starting to take on 3rd party releases,
@@royal5922 No lies. Once you dabble with different figures from different companies, big and small, you certainly will tell the deference of quality in the build, and if the figure question is worth your time and money! Hell, Unparalleled Universe, as well as other 1/12 reviewers have brought this up more than once.
@@juansanchez209Nobody said they are the best in the industry but saying ML are on par with mafex or figuarts is just wrong. I promised myself I don't need all of Iron Man's armors - yet here I am with at least 10 different ones.
I purchased a few of these due to this review during the mega clearance sale we just had at target. 350 dollars later, im glad I did. kitbash loaded!

Digging the pencil style mustache Tony head on this. This figure does look pretty sweet.
One of those Rare occasions where hasbro ML did outstanding.

You know the gold version is coming, and I'm looking forward to it.
This looks pretty damn incredible. Can’t wait for the gold Mark II.
Definitely a great version. This and the Hawkeye and bicycle 🚲
marvel legends have been killin it lately, i really love the smoke effect n i feel like it could be used on spidey as a symbiote transformation
I’ve gotta get this dude for my comic figure collection!
I want one now! Hes gonna look so good with the Dimond select titanium man
That's what I thought too!😁👏
Great review! The articulation is really beyond expectations
I like how long they made his arms i think they need to do that more

Great review, I think this is one I'll be hunting for..hopefully will be in the wild and I won't have to buy him online
I'd love to hear what the past figures were that hasbro made in the marvel legends line that you marvel at for their attention to detail and such.
I think I’m going to make a video discussing that topic

Just found my iron man mark one in store at target. This figure is dope AF
This looks awesome, can't wait for my preorder to come in August.
Awesome review man. Thank you
No problem!! Thank you!
This figure would rlly benefit from a dark grey paint job with a black wash cuz the marbling in the plastic looks rlly distracting
It's a great figure. I agree with you. Now hopefully Hasbro can give us a proper MCU version.
Oh yeah a good MCU version would be awesome!
agree! hasbro did an awesome job! a must have in my OG Avenger team! thx for da awesome review!

Hopefully we get a mark2 gold version

Great review my friend! I completely agree that the head is too small, especially compared to the classic Iron Man armor.
yeah the new intro is back!
Where did you get the replacement shield from? Without the peg holes
I really wanted an iron man in my collection that will fit in with some mcu figures any suggestions
Smoke kinda looks like Venom symbiote tendrils.
Agree with you - It's a great looking figure, but it should have been a little bigger.
Wish you compared sizes to items like hulk
Marbling is quite noticeable tho..
