Fun Fact - Larry Lieber is Stan the man Lee's brother. Stan gets "credit" (or most often now "co-credit") for creating many of these Marvel characters because he would outline the characteristics and some of the design - before assigning the creative team to the character. In the case of Iron Man, Don Heck laid down a lot of his and Stan's initial ideas in pencil and ink, before Stan assigned Larry to help with the story (and possibly a bit of the "finished" art. Larry did some art [often uncredited] at Marvel, i.e. Amazing Spider-Man #4 cover art is from him).
Great retrospective. Yes, I'm a 90s kid so my favorite fig was the more Red and Gold Modular Armor. (That was before I knew an animated series retro release was coming) Iron Man was my fav growing up until the Ghost Rider permanently took his place in my heart. Ironically, my first recent ML Iron Man was the angular Mark 51 I got in a lot of toys online. Had it for awhile but really didn't like it and sold it. Kept the head sculpt, which is think is pretty awesome actually, and put it on my Modular Armor.
I understood your Glenn Webb reference in the end, good one. Great vid btw, just discovered your channel. As a fellow Hall of Armors collector I just couldn't pass when it popped up in my recs. Cheers, m8!
That Iron Man model 4 at #2 is a great take on the old classic Shell Head, with a very good Tony Stark head - great pick! Modular armor Iron Men just don't do it for me, I'm a 70's and 80's kid. I do like the MCU versions of the Mark II and Mark III Iron Man suits. But if the Iron Man A I. suit were metallic, it would be my favorite - I agree that the blue arc reactor brings something to the figure. Thanks, I really liked this video and your commentary.
I have the retro modular Iron Man. I'm disappointed with the proportions. He's supposed to be much bulkier, and the heads are too big. I don't like how Hasbro makes the porportions semi realistic, I guess to go with other figures from other lines like the MCU or GI Joe and Star Wars. I have the same issue with the retro Spiderman TAS.
I painted red eyes on my modular Hasbro one and I love it funny enough I have 3 modulars Ironmans my top ones I like to use is if I want to go 2000s display I would pick extremist or model 24 retro card Ironman if I want to go 90s modular and if 60s-80s I pick AI Ironman Also side note shout out to war machine deluxe that figure is awesome
I don’t mind this list but I will ALWAYS put the Iron Man figure from the FIRST EVER Marvel Legends series 1 as one of the best Iron Man figures ever because Toy Biz caught every detail needed from the start but what I will say is in the later series of Marvel Legends toy Biz went downhill. Other than the imports I have gotten in the recent years my favorite figures a have only been by Toy Biz. Cap and Iron Man from the first ever series of Marvel legends are the most AMAZING and BEST figures imo. Everyone now is all only hasbro and doesn’t look at really what came before and made what hasbro has now with Marvel Legends and honestly Toy Biz did it better, not only did you get the figure and maybe a couple accessories but you got the comic with it. I’d rather pay $25 then for the figure and maybe a stand and a different head with a comic (even though it’s a reprint) rather than $25 for 2-4 extra hands maybe an extra head and then next to no articulation. Now if I want accessories and articulation and accuracy I have to spend $80 minimum to get what Toy Biz gave us. I’ll stick to my imports now cuz Hasbro has become nothing more than a has been to a brother so a “Has-bro” lmao. Only certain people will know what I’m talking about when it comes to Marvel Legends but today’s group only grew up with Hasbro/Hasbeen. Sad to see that no Toy Biz Marvel Legends EVER make a list when they started it all.
Im watching this October 2024..& i just noticed that you called Herb Trimpe Herb TRIPE! Herb TRIMPE is one of my FAVORITE Marvel Comics ateists.. ESPECIALLY from his days on Incredible Hulk & Invincible Iron Man..& i believe it's SACRILEGE to mispronounce his NAME!!🤣🤣 That being said..i ALMOST agree with this entire list.. EXCEPT that i believe that the 80th Anniversary Iron Man should have been NUMBER ONE!. Anyways great video brother.. looking forward to more of your Marvel Legends reviews 👑

I hope you enjoyed the video😄

I’m heartbroken for dude on what happened to his Wasp. That’s happened to me in the past with previous figures and it can ruin your week.
It was such a good figure too! Such a shame! :(
@@Pearlescent_Toys it is! And the only way to get it from Hasbro is on a two pack! It’s really diabolical. Again, my heart feels for you, bro.
@@Pearlescent_ToysDid you finally just CRAZY GLUE it back on?

I just picked up M20 a couple days ago. So far i love it.!
Great work again, sir. Could I ask what your turntable brand or name is? I can't find these smaller, taller type turntables.
Got mine on Amazon, it’s called the Rolway Rotating Display Stand. Here’s my affiliate link to it: amzn.to/3WmoZje
@@Pearlescent_Toys Thank you, awesome 👌
9:11 LOL
Cool review bro. From where did you buy such a long stand? I am looking for some because I don't have stands for my figures 09:57
If extremis was ur first legend how many have you bought in like a year bro
I’ve probably gotten hundreds of Legends since then 😅💸
Were did you get the stand to make your figures have that flying effect
The ones I mostly use come from Hasbro (came with the Black Widow movie deluxe), Medicom Mafex and Mezco One:12
@@Pearlescent_ToysBtw I found stands on the aftermarket that look almost exactly the same!
Personally I think we need another bleeding edge iron Man
I wish they had the model 4 with classic yellow colors instead of gold.
That model 20 is actually model 24. Hasbro got the name wrong for some reason.
Thor next! ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

I AGREE 💯 that Deluxe War Machine is one of the BEST Iron Man related Marvel Legends of all time!
I thought the Endgame armour was the one that emulated the Bleeding Edge look.
These figures hasn't taken a shower in years! 😁
I’ll make sure to give them a well deserved bath next time😂

I saw a galaxy looking one in iron man retro wave who is it?
I'm just getting into Marvel Legends. What Captain American is that?
If you're asking about the group shot with hulk and Loki. That is the 20th anniversary captain America. It could also be the retro wave version.
So none of the live action ones even get honorable mention
@@VicFettOfficial this was comic figures only. Otherwise the Mark III and Hulkbuster definitely would’ve gotten a mention.
@@Pearlescent_Toys ok but the title wasn’t very specific leaving me to my idea
@@VicFettOfficial he says it in like the first 30 seconds of the video lol
