Your '67 Corvette is simply OUTSTANDING! FRIEND HAD ONE BUT WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF MOTOR, SUSPENSION ,and tire expertise, he was only able to get his tri-power car to go in the mid to high 11's and that was with real slicks! Simply amazes me your talent! Tell you what I would LOVE to see is you set up with your STREET tires race a new Tesla Plaid! From what I have seen. They usually run 9.3 at about 150 in the quarter and it would probably come down to a driver's race. Seeing who cut the better light. Best time for a Plaid in 60' has been a 1.43 so your 1.39 is exceptional! Like to know how many others would enjoy a best 2 out of 3 race!
Utterly mind-blowing performance! Talk about wolves in sheep's clothing. Both cars look like 13-14 second street cars. I love this channel! Thank you SO MUCH for putting out these terrific videos!

I always look forward to your videos. It sucks that I live on the west coast and haven’t had the opportunity to see you guys in action. I’ve also been a big fan of HemiJoel since he raced his green GTX. He is one reason why I bought a Hemi car.
Always stoked to see a new HPD video pop up on my phone. I was mashing the accelerator through the floor with you to try and get a 9.19, lol! Heard the bog and knew it probably wouldn’t happen. But hey, still an unbelievable pass. I’m proud for ya on how well the 67 has done so far. Will be a lot of fun seeing the continued progress. Love your channel!
Another great video - love them. One thing i noticed, following all your videos, is that the car that trapped the highest miles per hour was the red '69 L88 with the borrowed engine. I believe it went over 148, and only a few 100ths off the fastest ET of the '67. The setup in the '69 was unreal and ran extremely well, but it seemed almost as if the car was an afterthought. Keep up the great content!!
The engine in this 67 is the same exact engine that we installed into the red car that weekend, but makes more power now. The hood really hurts the 67. 69 l88 is a 4 inch cowl hood, the 67 is 1 1/2. Thats why this car wont mph to the 1/4 mile. The 67 is 2 mph faster to the 1/8 mile though. It works well for the first 660 ft.
I remember some of the Mopar guys complaining about your dad not running an air cleaner. Maybe it's different on the 69 vs 67 but it's pretty funny that it's actually slower without it. 11:58 lol you actually mention it.
Same exact air cleaner and filter setup on the 69! Its been brought up a couple times. Funny how its actually now documented that they are slower without them. The 69 ZL1 hated no air filter or even no air cleaner lid! Did a lot of dyno testing with that car.
If you tighten the lock In the standing column by taking the wheel off turning the tightening screw in a quarter turn and then putting it back together the wheel will lock properly
I’m sure you probably already have jet extensions in the secondaries. I think since your car 60 foots pretty hard that taller vents may not be enough to prevent fuel from coming out of the vent. They sell a whistle to prevent fuel from coming out of the vent but it’s not 100% effective in racing. You can install a hose that connects the two vents together and put a couple holes in at the top so it can vent. They also sell a one piece vent that connects the two bowls together as well.
It’s got jet extensions in it. The current vents aren’t tall enough to put a hose on or I would have tried that. Lowering the float level helped a bit. I think others in the class would complain about the non factory “look” if I put the one piece vent in, but that’s the one I’d like to run.
Yalls cars are so impressive I just put my 60 over 427 in my 88 monte carlo SS yesterday the motor makes pretty good power for what it is its got a small howards hydraulic roller it's 235x241@50 with 628 lift on a 108 lsa it's right at 11 to 1 compression and has afr 265 roval port heads I don't know what it's going to run but once I get a 9 inch rearend in it I'll find out it's got a stock 10 bolt posi with 373 gears but I'll be going to 430s or 456 gears great video
Hey I absolutely love your channel!!!! You're old school drag racers...I have a question....I was always taught to never let the motor pull the car down when you pass the finish line ...but you let the motor pull the car down....your feelings on this????
You need to hit neutral to be able to shut the engine down, using factory shifters and reverse pattern valve bodies we can't go right to neutral to shut the car down. Its never really been an issue with our engines.
Try extending the fuel bowl vents outside the hood. You might be pulling so much air that fuel is being sucked out of the fuel bowls. that way you get true atmospheric pressure in the carb. which is 14.3 at sea level. or put fuel injection on it.
With some fine tuning, I'm thinking 8s for the 67! It sounds like 3rd gear in that Chevelle is pretty tall ... compared to the Corvette. 1st to 2nd sounds good but 2nd to 3rd is a bit of a gap. Still getting into the 9s first time out isn't too shabby.
I was happy to find your post today. I bet that chevelle is not a 396! Tell us more about it. Sorry the good weather is about over for you guys. Tell us what your Winter projects are.
Excellent!! One criticism... Couldn't you have emptied the tissue dispenser to save a little weight?? Would the rules allow you to move the tissue dispenser to the trunk!?
The owner of the car says the tissue dispenser stays to hand out tissues to all the cry babies! And it slings back on launch for better weight distribution!

pointers....no drivers here.............
Why not double up on your secret air filter ...Maybe if you jet the carb right you can throw away the air filter ..
The class rules require that they run with an air filter.
Well, you see, the rules state the factory air cleaner has to be on during all runs. So rejetting the carb for no air filter would just slow it down.
Also, the air filter 'may' straighten out the air flow. There's a lot of thought that contributes to making these cars run the numbers they run..
